I need to lose 3 stone.

Here's my plan:

I am going to do intermittent fasting.
I am going to do at least 5 exercise classes a week.
I am going to cut out carbs & sugar.
No alcohol sunday-thurs & only 2 glasses if I do partake.

I will weigh in on a Monday and record my progress here.
If anyone would like to join me, that would be lovely. Otherwise I'll just witter away to myself 😊

My intentions are
16/8 fasting
10k+ steps every day
I’m not the chef in our house so no point in me saying no carbs etc.
Alcohol free 3 days a week
I know if I’m too restrictive I’ll fall at the first hurdle so I’d rather go for the longer game

I am also, being realistic going to probably give my self a break over xmas. But thought I'd get started now, so I have a routine in place to get back to. Thinking I can stick to the exercise part if the 16/8 falls slightly off the wagon due to festivities 🥳

I’m in. I used to journal on a weight loss forum
in the past - when I had most success…6 stone loss!

Aiming for 3 stone too - that will get me to 12 stone @ 5’9 which is a comfortable weight for me. I’d really love to get to 10 - but it’s not even achievable never-mind maintainable!

Plan of action

Calorie counting

Meal prepping evening meal - I’m a ‘chuck it all in and add fat/sugar/alcohol until it tastes delish’ type of cook. Which makes calorie counting near impossible. Planning to batch cook a few meals and repeat until I’m in the swing of things.

No snacking

Take up couch to 5k

Dry Jan when it comes

I've tried these threads before but fell off the wagon. I'm fed up being fat. Put new batteries in my scales tonight. I've gained a couple of pounds since I last weighed myself.

I'm thinking fasting is the way forward and cutting the sugar - I eat far too much sugary junk. I'm not a big drinker I may be drink one night a month. So cutting alcohol won't make much difference.

How old are you OP? If you’re over 30 then please don’t do 5 exercise classes a week. So many mums I know (and me!) did way too much exercise, trying to get suddenly fit, and we all (except one) got badly injured and then couldn’t exercise for months and out the weight back on ☹️.

The one who didn’t get injured is the one who took things very slowly with slow jogging pace and all the jogging ‘walking’ breaks etc.

Exercise won't help you lose much. For faster results slimming world is better. Then as you lose you'll pick up a natural drive to move more

I saw a photo of myself, taken yesterday. I look bloated. Today was the first day of 16-8 for me.

13s 4.4lb
I’m late 40s 5’6”
excess is all over but I’m big boobed so even when slim look top heavy

I’m hoping that feeling accountability to a bunch of internet strangers will help keep me in check 😆

I'm in. I am going to use December to start it be a bit more mindful about food and steps but not be super strict with myself as with Christmas in two weeks there's no chance. I'm using this period to gently cut back and start sticking to 16-8 again 5 days a week. Not really expecting results just a mindset shift. Then in January I will be ready to hit it a bit harder.

I'm in bed with a chest infection and have been for a few days which is actually helpful as I haven't the energy to eat much just now. But I also can't get my steps in which is annoying.

Happy with that. I’ve not done the steps, been too icy for that, but I have done 16/8 every day and had 4 alcohol free days so I feel my head’s back in the right place.

If you do the exercise classes (and thats a big ask every week) you will be ravenous and eat more

Then you'll tell yourself that the water retention from the exercise and the extra food which puts weight on you is 'Im gaining muscle'

And its not, its because your body is crying out for food and you're eating it

When losing weight I find exercise counter productive

I've gained a pound but my phone is telling me my period is due in a couple of days. So potentially retaining fluid.

I would love to join please, and am already making plans to start between Christmas and New Year... I'd like to call it Twixmas but that just makes me think of the chocolate Grin

Like @Nynm23 my brain also seems convinced that mince pies, Christmas cake, Yule log etc are calorie free Blush I'm hoping to restart C25K too in the hope of making a dent in my 50lb target!

Not bad considering it’s Christmas. I’ve carried on doing 16/8 apart from yesterday. It’s definitely the way to go for me.
