discoverlife, he doesn't have to doss with friends does he, he could go to a b and b....after all you did let him know in advance and if he can afford a hol in hong kong...

discoverlife · 13/02/2008 23:17

I don't really even want to go away, I want to be here in my own place but with no kids.
DS1 says he is too broke to go away, but then he pipes up all defensive tones (as if we have plenty of money) 'you could go away'. Grrrrr.

pollywobbledoodle · 13/02/2008 23:19

must go to bed, "see" you all tommorrow

spottyshoes are you ever coming back??

discoverlife · 13/02/2008 23:21

Will talk to him in a bit. He's at home now. But I really can't get through to him. Now if it was my DD, totally different matter. The one I would have loved to have at home, but no. she had to move out at 17 so that she could hold down a 2 jobs and still get into work. She manages to have a great social life and pay for her lodgings and save up for when she can afford a place of her own. But not DS. Grrrr. Right end of Rant, I don't want to turn this into another parents against teenagers thread.

katylessbumpy · 13/02/2008 23:29

night polly .good luck for tomorrow x

yeah susie where are youuuuuuuuuuu?

discoverlife i hope you get through to him.to be honest i'd be tempted to go for it in the bedroom really loudly and embarress him into staying out

OP posts:
katylessbumpy · 13/02/2008 23:32

wonder where everyone else went?

might have a proper nosey through the old threads and see if i can find them

OP posts:
discoverlife · 13/02/2008 23:55

Won't work, Im loud no matter what, he just put his headphones on and turns them up.

katylessbumpy · 14/02/2008 00:04

hide them?
i'm getting frustrated for you
think your going to have to double lock the door when he goes out and leave a note taped to it.
just wait til he wants the place to himself.then it's payback!

OP posts:
katylessbumpy · 14/02/2008 00:10

ooh it's valentines day.
hearts and flowers everyone but no chocolates

OP posts:
discoverlife · 14/02/2008 00:13

Thats the problem, he's 22 and still no sign of a girlfriend or boyfriend on the horizon so no chance of payback.

katylessbumpy · 14/02/2008 00:16

bide your time and then wham, into his room with cups of tea lol
has he not got a mate he can stay with? a crate of beer and an xbox? surely one off his friends will have him.

the things we do for a decent shag

This convo has really brought it to the fore. I know diddly squat about the private life of my eldest child. Weird.

katylessbumpy · 14/02/2008 00:29

maybe nows the time to find out?
he may not realise what he is doing.

OP posts:
discoverlife · 14/02/2008 00:31

I ask he shrugs his shoulders and mumbles 'nothing much or nobody'

katylessbumpy · 14/02/2008 00:34

oh the joys.i'm at a loss as to what to suggest next.
how about you go for a night out and he has the house to himself and then he does the same for you?
a few drinks in the local and a snog on the way home is great fun if dh would be up to it

OP posts:
katylessbumpy · 14/02/2008 00:39

Totally different subject. I have just been talking to a friend in Norway who needs me to buy a DJ deck and set up for him and post it too him in Norway. Because everytime he tries to talk to them on the phone they can't understand him. So that is what I have been doing for the last hour, translating his poor english into my english. LOL.

MrsFish · 14/02/2008 06:44

Morning all. Hardly slept, got tonsilitous and a cold

Not sure whats up with my body atm. I've had a cold on and off since before xmas, last week I had thrush which I haven't had in 7 years and now tonsilitous which I last had about 12 years ago whatever next? I suppose the good thing being it will help my diet this week

Just hope I can get in to see the doc today.

pollywobbledoodle · 14/02/2008 11:44

ah, mrs fish, know the feeling!
have had illnesses pretty much constantly oct-mar every year since dd was born.....IMO kids mainline every bug into the house and your immune system goes to pot....i also got a fungal infection (on my scalp) which i hadn't had for years.....you're right to have a check tho'

discoverlife...you do have an interesting life!

anyway VD has passed unnoticed in this house(again)...dh has "a throat" and is still in bed...

MrsFish · 14/02/2008 16:05

blimey, its quiet in here today...

annieatno4 · 14/02/2008 16:51

Evening all. Not getting anywhere with DS1 but I haven't really been able to make much sense of him since he was a teenager any way, but I think DH will be have dad & son talk about the way my bad mood is affecting everybody in the house. (If I'm pissed off about anything, everybody knows about it, until they sort out the problem).
On another note, we now have a new (secondhand) car. A lot more economical than the 4 X 4, and soooo comfy. Fell asleep in it within the first 2 miles earlier.
I am going the try to get an early night tonight, ( abottle of 'reserve' chardonnay should provide the impetus for that. I am also taking that horrid bed riser out. Its a gadget that sits under the matress and lifts the top end of the bed at the press of a button to make it easier to help DH out of bed. But he isn't useing it much, (his new drugs are working brilliantly, with no side effects, at long last) but its ruining my sleep. Its a mechanical thing with an electric motor which lifts the bed at the head end by 6 inches, but it doesn't reach all the way to the sides of the bed, so when I'm trying to sleep I'm sliding sidways in bed, or cricking my neck really badly. I've had a sore neck for 2 weeks now and I'm getting dark rings under my eye's. (I didn't even get them when DS2 was only sleeping in 2 hour stretches for 9 months). So back in a bit, I have some dismantling to do.

discoverlife · 14/02/2008 17:02

Blast, I've just realised I've left a bag of new clothes in a cafe.

discoverlife · 14/02/2008 19:06
