I’m starting 10 days of Fast 800 on Monday

Can’t keep putting it off because I don’t have a clear fortnight for weeks. 10 days will have to do. I’ve done it before and lost a bit, not a massive amount but I need to kick start some weight loss. Nothing fits in my wardrobe and I’m feeling physically uncomfortable. I’ll weigh in on Monday to see how bad it’s got!

Good luck! Still procrastinating here

Swannning · 13/11/2022 23:53

Good luck. I'm going to try the same.

DP and I had a competition to see who could lose a stone by the end of November. I made a great start but got complacent, whereas he's been consistent so I obviously can't let him win (which he is at the mo)

EternalStench · 14/11/2022 00:13

I've been thinking about this for ages!
I'll join you though not at the weekend. Can get back to it the following Monday for a few weeks.

CarnivalSong · 14/11/2022 08:28

Well the weigh in has been done. 12.11 and I’m not quite 5ft 4 and almost a size 16. I‘ve measured too so I’ll put those in later.
I made a 400 cal salad for lunch already and my window
for eating will be 1pm-9pm. I should have read the book again as I’m a bit rusty on the particulars.

@Pinkapron I was procrastinating until I had to wear joggers to work because nothing else fits. Joggers are really not appropriate workwear for my role.

@Swannning My DH lost three stone over the summer and weighs less than me now. Im so glad he did it but I’m also annoyed at how fast he did it.

@EternalStench join me! Im only doing 10 days and then I’ll probably go to 5:2 as I have a lot of things going on where I’ll not be able to sustain 800 cals continuously.

I'm starting this today!

My plan is no breakfast as I'm not hungry and then a two egg omelette for lunch with a salad and chicken shawarma with roasted broccoli and tomatoes with a yoghurt dressing.

EternalStench · 14/11/2022 18:03

Ok. Day 1 today. Not as per the actual plan but trying to fast and stick to calories.
I'm very tired and haven't had enough water.
I've had -
Lentil soup
1 ryvita
A bit of cheese
Tomato
Satsuma
1 tblsp peanut butter
Chicken
Peppers

thenewaveragebear1983 · 14/11/2022 18:32

I always intend to do this but then when it comes to it I just cannot manage on 800 calories. I did do it (blood sugar diet) very successfully a few years ago. But like you OP, my clothes are feeling a little snug. I was in the loft today and looking at my skinny clothes, a little snug now but really if I carry on like this they will be a distant dream by next year.
Have you started F800 today? How did you get on?

CarnivalSong · 14/11/2022 20:19

So day one is almost done and I yes @thenewaveragebear1983 I did start. I’ve had a chicken salad for lunch and pork chop and cabbage for tea. I’ve had oat milk and whole milk in drinks after 1. So far I’ve come in at just under 800 cals and I’ve weighed it all out for accuracy.

I felt awful this morning but I realised that it’s caffeine withdrawal so I’ll have black coffee in the morning. I had tea after 1 today as I seem to recall that I can’t have milk or milk alternatives in the fasting hours. I’ve got the book out to reread as I might be making things up.

@SpottyTweedCushion I’m inspired by the chicken shawarma, I’ll get that on my food plan for next week.

@EternalStench I haven’t drunk enough water either, will try and have a pint when I wake up.

So increased water and two black coffees helped a lot with feeling better. Another chicken salad for lunch. I’m not weighing daily as I find it demotivates me!

CarnivalSong · 15/11/2022 22:11

Day 2 done. Aubergine and chorizo stew for
tea. Feeling tired but that’s normal.

OP posts:
EternalStench · 16/11/2022 00:05

Day 2 was not great.
Fasting was good.
I had more water but overdid the food.
Lentil soup
Ryvita x3
Little bit of cheese
Paneer and sliced pepper masala (abstained from the rice)
Melon

Where I failed was a good handful of Bombay mix. Probably sent me over my calories.

Will try harder tomorrow.

EternalStench · 16/11/2022 00:16

I need to do some exercise too. I have just ordered some resistance bands and have found some short workouts.
I spend too much time being idle.
I feel this is a good opportunity to straighten my life up a bit. Too many bad habits that I need to get rid of.

CarnivalSong · 16/11/2022 09:39

Double black coffee and distraction are defiantly the way forward for me. No extra exercise though but my job can be active and home life is busy so I’m normally close to 10k steps. I think I’d struggle with extra exercise in the first few weeks of fast 800.

OP posts:
EternalStench · 16/11/2022 19:58

Good day today.
Chickpea and lamb stew
Spoon of peanut butter
Bit of cheese
Satsuma
Tiny bit of homemade choc brownie that Dd made and insisted I try. It was bloody delicious and I'm impressed with my Will power 💪

CarnivalSong · 16/11/2022 21:18

Pork chops and kale for tea tonight. I also realised that I’m doing this for 11 days not 10. That feels both good as the book recommends 14 days at least (which I can’t do as I’m away next weekend) but I was quite looking forward to only having a week to go.
Today I was quite preoccupied by food thoughts but tomorrow is really busy so I hope it’s better. I’m already worrying that the weekend will be really hard.

@EternalStench you are doing really well, I think peanut butter might get me through the weekend!

CarnivalSong · 17/11/2022 19:57

Not sure about today. I forgot my lunch so had the jerk chicken salad from Leon which I think is 500 cals so really should have 300 for tea. Will see what the book says, it might just be some eggs by the time I can cook tonight. Felt a bit feeble when I woke up but fine for the rest of the day.

OP posts:
CarnivalSong · 17/11/2022 21:00

Salmon, green beans and cannellini bean mash. Think it was 470 all in. So I’m over 800 but I feel ok about that!

OP posts:
Swannning · 18/11/2022 11:27

Have you weighed yourself yet? I'm not brave enough you in case I get a disappointing result

EternalStench · 18/11/2022 12:31

Yesterday was good.
Prawns and courgette
Satsuma
Chilli in a wrap

Today I'm eating out so won't stick to it properly, or tomorrow but definitely back to it from Monday.

Good luck @CarnivalSong see you again next week Smile

CarnivalSong · 18/11/2022 13:55

No I’m not weighing myself @Swannning because I have an awful fuck it mentality so if I hadn’t lost like 4 pounds in two days my brain says fuck it and I’ll stop. I’ll weigh on Friday when I stop doing this initial stint. Last time I lost 6 pounds in 10 days so I’m not expecting a huge loss really, but I needed to reset the volume of carbs I was eating and my portion size and I really do want to get out of this stone bracket quite quickly. After next Friday I have fewer days in which I can commit so I’ll move to fast 800 5:2 or 4:3 until Christmas and see how that works, I’ve never done the 2/3 days of fasting approach.

Today I haven’t felt hungry or thought about food all morning. Another chicken salad today! Weekend could be a big challenge though.

See ya next week @EternalStench good luck to you too!

CarnivalSong · 18/11/2022 21:29

Excellent tea tonight. 2 sausages, cabbage, broccoli and leftover cannellini bean mash. Early night because it’s freezing and I’ll probably cope better tomorrow if I’m not knackered.

OP posts:
CarnivalSong · 19/11/2022 21:48

Ok day today. Same lunch and tea as before but also some
popcorn (home made in pan) so not the best. I know I should be varying my food but I also don’t want food to go to waste!

OP posts:
CarnivalSong · 20/11/2022 20:31

Managed some exercise today and roast chicken, parsnip, carrot and cabbage. Only fours full days to go!

OP posts:
mellongoose · 20/11/2022 20:47

You're doing really well @CarnivalSong 👏

I am kickstarting my body from tomorrow. Hoping to lose a good half stone at least by Christmas.

CarnivalSong · 21/11/2022 21:04

Well a small slip today. Same old chicken salad for lunch but also one homemade biscuit that someone brought into work. Then curries chicken and cauliflower and peppers and one half of a square of chocolate. So straying quite far from the book’s instructions for the first few weeks. I don’t feel any difference in my clothes though I see some reduction in my stomach though likely water loss. Hope your first day went well @mellongoose
