I’m starting 10 days of Fast 800 on Monday

Can’t keep putting it off because I don’t have a clear fortnight for weeks. 10 days will have to do. I’ve done it before and lost a bit, not a massive amount but I need to kick start some weight loss. Nothing fits in my wardrobe and I’m feeling physically uncomfortable. I’ll weigh in on Monday to see how bad it’s got!

A good day today. Another Leon lunch but it was jerk chicken salad. Pork, spinach and green beans for tea. Only
two days to go. I don’t feel hungry at all today.

A good lunch but not sure about tea. Let DH cook and it was a sausage, 2x bacon, cabbage, beetroot and cheese (yes we are
due a shopping delivery tomorrow so it was random) and I think it will have been more 400 cals.
One more day to go!

Last meal before weighing tomorrow morning! Feta, pine nuts, squash, carrots and onion.

Following as I've got to do something like this.

Nancienoo · 24/11/2022 20:38

I’ve been doing the 16.5 and calorie counting with nutra check I’ve lost 8lb in just over a week, but I was eating some crap

CarnivalSong · 25/11/2022 07:47

I’ve lost 9 pounds since starting on Monday 14 November. I’m really pleased. Measurements show around an inch off. So now to move to more of a 5:2 but this will be tricky as I’m committed to going out this weekend and next week but I’m going to identify 2 days a week to do this. The book advises that I follow a Mediterranean diet and watch the potion size to continue a steady weight loss. Realistically this will no happen next week so I’ll hope that I’ve learn my something about portion control at least!

Good luck @determinedtomakethiswork I found this was really quite ok after a few days.
@Nancienoo I was wondering about nutracheck but was out off by the charge but is it a lot better than the free apps? I think accurate cc would really help me. 8 pounds in a week is great!

Hi, which book is this please?

CarnivalSong · 25/11/2022 08:02

Amazon.com www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07L9WX6LZ?ref_=cm_sw_r_apin_ts_87NMR0ZTEF3580EH35JE

Its the original book by Dr Micheal Mosley @Winniewoooooooo called Fast 800. Hope it has linked above. There’s a new one which is Keto but I’ve not read that. I’ve also got one of the recipe books too.

@CarnivalSong i was eating some rubbish so expected it, i would recommend nutracheck it’s got the forum and threads on interment fasting I find it helpful and the calories you can eat are great it’s really changing my outlook on the way I eat

ZenNudist · 25/11/2022 08:10

Well done with doing this some of the food sounds lovely

CarnivalSong · 28/11/2022 10:30

So I’ve downloaded the nutracheck app because I thin on if I’m paying for it I might actually fill it in. Now that I’m
moving to 5:2 I’ve set Monday and Tuesday this week
as fast days as I out a few nights this week. I’d like to do another fast day but not sure I can commit to it yet.

I’m going to weigh each Friday in December from now on and see how it goes!

Weigh day today and one pound on! Not surprising as I ate out 6 times this week and drank alcohol. Even fasting days were never gonna save me! The next 7 days are less hectic so I’ll fast Monday-Tuesday again and then properly follow the recommendations in the book.

One pound off. 3 days of fast 800 Mon-weds. Busy weekend of eating out and takeaway so happy to have got that stone off. Another busy weekend but should be able to do 4 days of Fast 800 next week to try and stay on track. There’s a lot of Christmas food knocking around work now!

Gosh well done! What a time of year to start…

I’m thinking of doing something similar, I’m only 7lbs over my usual weight and my diet is usually very healthy but I seem to nibble all day (wfh). And my mum has recently been diagnosed with bowel cancer Sad so I’m interested in the health benefits of fasting.

Going to order the book today.

neveradullmoment99 · 09/12/2022 07:30

Well done OP! I'm going to do this but not sure I can with Xmas. May aim for NewYear realistically! Fresh start!

MattDamon · 09/12/2022 07:41

Thanks for sharing your experience. My size 12s were getting snug and I want to eat freely over Xmas so I'm also doing a pre-Christmas attack.

I'm on day 6 and I've lost 8 lbs so far but I think that's mostly bloat. I WFH and am mostly sticking to egg whites, tomatoes and cottage cheese as I know these fill me up and I don't mind them.

Good luck to everyone else giving it a go!

CarnivalSong · 10/12/2022 07:25

Yes @Chateaudiaries I can’t believe I stayed this so close to Christmas but I have put on a lot of weight and I could not get into any clothes and I really could not afford new ones. I was worried if I waited til the new year I’d give myself licence to go crazy and I’d have out in another stone. So I just did the 10 days I could at the start and now at least 2 days a week which I think will just mean that I don’t put in a lot rather than consistent weight loss over the festive period. Work from home was not good for me and snacking, I’m back full time in the office and that is better for resisting temptation! I’m sorry to hear your mum is unwell, I hope she’s receiving good care.

@neveradullmoment99 I’ll be doing another commuted 10 to 14 days in January too! I know I’m getting a new exercise tracker too so I’m going to attempt some regular activity!

@MattDamon that was pretty much my trigger for starting this now! Well done so far, I found it got easier at this point and I wasn’t as food thought obsessed!

Chateaudiaries · 10/12/2022 09:52

I think that is such a good idea @CarnivalSong to go into the festive season already feeling like you’re on the right track. Otherwise it’s a bigger hill to climb in January which an awful month anyway!

I downloaded the 800 recipe book last night, I like it so far and that leafy greens are pretty much calorie free! I just had some kale with my egg this morning and half a slice of toast instead of a full one. I’m going to try 800 mon-thurs, I just need a small reset and some tweaks.

CarnivalSong · 16/12/2022 06:50

Oh dear, 2 pounds on. This can be explained by not having any fast days and thinking that an extremely busy day on my feet means I can eat cake. Next week is tricky as I’ve over ordered frozen food so now we need to eat whatever is in the fridge to make room for it. Hmmm I’ll at least use a calorie counter to try and maintain.
