New (school) year resolutions

I've gradually been gaining weight over the last couple of years and am now 2 stone overweight. The school holidays have been horrific foodwise. A lot of ice creams, hotdogs or pasties at zoos and theme parks, fish and chips by the beach. It's been a lot and I need to sort myself out.

I'm going to make a big effort to improve my diet, massively decrease the amount of junk and get more active.

Anyone else starting afresh?

I braved the scales this morning and have gained 2lbs over the last month. I honestly can't complain, I've had a huge amount on socially. That's over now though.
I want to do some bulk cooking on my Mondays off to make week days a bit easier. Probably bolognaise, chili and curry and maybe soup for lunches.

Morning ladies! I’ve put back on a couple of the lbs I’d lost and am starting October at 11st. I’d love to get to 10st by Christmas so going to try to get myself into the right mindset

LBB2020 · 03/10/2022 15:41

How was everyone’s weekend?
I'm back to calorie counting today. Need to lose just over a lb a week to get a stone off by Christmas. I am going to really try to stick with it as it feels doable if I can stay on track

FaultybutFabulous · 04/10/2022 08:25

AF finally arrived 24 days late and has left me feeling rather sick and ghastly. I've not stepped on the scales for about a week but will do tomorrow. I'm trying to keep up with self care and that's taking all my energy.

Oysterbabe · 04/10/2022 14:44

My weekend was OK. Not great but not as bad as usual.

Back on the calorie counting from yesterday. I'm losing patience with it a bit. I mean I know it works but I just destroy my deficit every weekend and don't seem to be able to stop. I've had lots success in the past with more aggressive deficits in the week, therefore giving me more wiggle room at the weekend. But then can you really call it success when I'm back where I started? Obviously I couldn't sustain it. I need a plan I can sustain. I think it's going to need to involve reining the weekends in a bit, achieving a slightly bigger, but not extreme, deficit in the week and exercise. WFH has really reduced my activity levels a lot.

Hi everyone. Still mostly sticking to the wagon despite family birthdays. No change on scales - still 11st 5 buy at least no increases. Not missingbthe sugar and carbs tooool much, its the alcohol free weeknights that are a killer for me (and quite telling...)

Keep on keeping on...

LBB2020 · 04/10/2022 19:59

I’ve had an alright start to the week have finished both days on around 1390 calories which I’m happy with. Definitely haven’t drank enough water or moved enough (WFH). Keep going everyone

Oysterbabe · 05/10/2022 21:34

I've eaten plenty today but I'm still starving. I'm going to have to go to bed.
In the office tomorrow so I'll get some steps in at least. I'll make a packed lunch and will spend the morning trying not to eat it before 12.
I wonder what it's like not to think about food all the time 🤔

I wonder that often @Oysterbabe 😂
My week has been ok so far, sticking to around 1400 calories and not eating after 7pm, I even went to the gym today! Still need up up my water intake

colouringindoors · 08/10/2022 23:35

disastrous 24 hours as was away with steessed dd... bum.

FaultybutFabulous · 09/10/2022 01:52

I'm so far off the wagon I'm in a ditch and the horse has bolted taking the wagon with it across the river to another town. In my defence I tested positive for covid today after feelin exhausted all week and I'm eating whatever I fancy. A full bag of butterkist popcorn hit the spot nicely this afternoon. I had porridge with banana and syrup for dinner and toast the rest of the day. I've walked a lot this week but this next week will be rubbish for steps. I think my weight is stable at around 65.9kg at the moment.

colouringindoors · 10/10/2022 20:59

oh butterkist is amazing

Well I've eaten low carb today (following sugarfest of dsis baby shower yesterday). But have polished off a(nother) bottle of wine. Three nights in a row 🙄

LBB2020 · 10/10/2022 22:04

I had a decent week last week and lost 2lbs. I then went a bit crazy over the weekend with wine, crisps and chocolate! Started today well then raided the cupboards once the children were in bed (I’m blaming it on being due on my period this week). Back on it again tomorrow!

colouringindoors · 11/10/2022 14:00

Gained 2lb over the last 5 days. (trip away with dd followed by wine every night).

Trying to get back on track. Wine is ny downfall.
