New (school) year resolutions

I've gradually been gaining weight over the last couple of years and am now 2 stone overweight. The school holidays have been horrific foodwise. A lot of ice creams, hotdogs or pasties at zoos and theme parks, fish and chips by the beach. It's been a lot and I need to sort myself out.

I'm going to make a big effort to improve my diet, massively decrease the amount of junk and get more active.

Anyone else starting afresh?

That's fantastic.
Less said about my weekend the better 🤦‍♀️ and next weekend will be worst. I'm having a long weekend away with some friends. It will be my first time being away from the kids for more than a day. They are staying with DH. We're going to a spa, having massages. It will be boozy. I actually can't wait.
Best behaviour until then.

I've woken up with aches and pains all over today. This happens a lot. I think that I'm probably peri menopausal but losing weight would help I'm sure.

My weekend has been poor regarding food. Nothing particularly healthy and nothing very much of anything. I am so tired this morning but 65.7kg which I'm happy with. I'm getting closer to being within the normal BMI range. Another 2-3 weeks should do it then I need to retain the better habits.

A week of macros, and I've gained 3lbs. I think I'm going to look at another option.

I wasn't amazing over the weekend, but not enough to gain 3lbs. Feeling a mixture of RIGHT I AM GOING TO CHUFFING NAIL THIS and I don't have the energy.

Sitting at computer feeling a bit glum, but hopefully I'll snap out of it soon.

In the weight loss section there's a low carb bootcamp section. It's a low carb way of eating.... much simpler

I’m sure you haven’t really gained 3lbs @ShakeItOff40 could it be water weight or down to hormones?
Ok day today for me, finishing on 1330 calories. Not enough water and WFH so not enough steps, also forgot my multivitamin! Must do better tomorrow! Hope everyone has had a good day

@LBB2020 - I deffo have, I don't have periods etc anymore (pills as they were so awful) but I've made my peace with it, and have rejoined Slimming World. I already feel more comfortable, especially as I'm really cutting back on alcohol so no longer just eating free foods so I can drink wine 😆

@colouringindoors you are AMAZING. I could not go low carb. I know what you mean about hormones, when I wasn't on the pill back to back, the week leading up to mine I'd be so hungry no matter what I ate, i'd be faint like I hadn't eaten! So to do low carb and be hormonal is amazing!

oh wow @ShakeItOff40 that's so lovely! You have made my morning 😊. It's def worth starting low carb several weeks before pms is due as now I have adjusted to much less sugar and my appetite is lower due to protein and fat. I'm eating more nuts than i should and some 85% choc but have managed to resist bread/cake/biscuits which are my downfall. Had a few frites last night with steak as out for special meal, but that's ok.

11 st 6 this morning 😊. First 3 weeks are usually ok and then my willpower runs out. Really need to stick with this regime this time round though 💪💪💪

Morning, how is everyone doing?
Last week was ok but not the best, it was my DS2 birthday so there were cakes and treats! I’m going to wait until Friday to weigh to see where I end the month!
Back to counting calories today!

Rather indulgent weekend, pre-planned meals out with various people as it was our first weekend 'off' from sports and hobbies in forever!

But woken up today more positive. VERY hungry, but drinking lots of water. May move to hot water with lemon to keep warm!

You ladies are doing great.

I'm back on it today after a very boozy and indulgent long weekend away with friends. I can't even think about the amount we got through 😅. I've got a clear run now where I can try and make some progress. My youngest is FINALLY full time at school from Monday, longest settling in time ever, so I'll have more time for meal prep and won't be juggling work and childcare.

I've had a poached egg on toast so far today. I find breakfast hard. I don't really like cereal, I never feel satisfied, and if I have toast I want loads with butter and it's too many calories 😄

Morning everyone! Well I'm now at 11st5 😊 5lb to go to first target, one third of way to ultimate target (10 st) bit trickier recently, like last night with Chinese takeaway and birthday cake for my dad, but I managed- duck pancakes, chicken satay and a tiny sliver of cake. Pretty impressive for me - cake is a weak spot!

How's everyone else doing?

My week hasn’t been the best, too many sweets and treats left from DS2 birthday last week! Dreading getting on the scales tomorrow as I’m sure I’ve put back on the weight I lost the other week!

The weekends and occasions are so hard aren't they?

I'm going to get on the scales tomorrow and it's going to be a new high. I just need to get over it and move on.

Since coming back from my weekend away I've been eating really well. So 2 days 😂 But I'm feeling quite motivated now and enjoying the healthy food I've been having.
I'm cooking salmon with chilli and lemon orzo for dinner today.
