Quickest way to lose 10lbs

Reagol · 25/08/2022 16:20

Hit me with your tips!

I'm at the very top end of healthy BMI as I've put on half a stone since April. Crisps, wine and cake.

Decided today is the day I start losing the 10lbs, I feel so wobbly!!

I'm going to try intermittent fasting. Will eat two meals, one at 12 noon and then 5pm. No snacks, will cook healthy food from scratch, drinking 2 liters of water a day. I will also spend an hour at the gym every day, a mix of heavy weights and cardio.

Anything else? I want it off ASAP!!

I'm currently losing weight very easily..

Morning - a smoothie with half milk half water small thumb of fresh tumeric.. slim fast milkshake powder.. half banana..

Lunch nothing...

Snack of one fruit if needed..

Normal evening meal but we r indian so I'm also skipping the rice we have nearly 3 times a week..

Lots of water...!!

JoandLily · 25/08/2022 17:09

Zero carbs. Really hard but the weight will drop off fast

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 25/08/2022 17:09

Nothing but Oats and chicken and veg. Also walking 20k steps a day

Whattodonowadays · 25/08/2022 17:10

I’ve recently lost a stone and all I did was stop the snacks. No biscuits, chocolate, cakes or crisps and the weight just come off.

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 25/08/2022 17:10

And loads of water ! I'm doing it myself from tomorrow

Girlintheframe · 25/08/2022 17:15

No carbs and it will fall off

Gufo · 25/08/2022 17:38

I lost a stone through IF and quitting the cake and crisps.

Reagol · 25/08/2022 18:31

I had lunch (banana & oats) at 12pm and my evening meal at 5.30pm, so that's me done! Just roast veg and chicken. Managed an hour weight session, a long walk and a 4km jog. 21k steps total for the day.

I'm so hungry! 😫 will have more water...it must come off!

Not sure I should do zero carbs with the exercise I do though?

Dead easy. Just do the celebrity red carpet diet. Plain steamed vegetables & water only, plus a huge amount of cardio exercise until you get to the required weight. If you hit it hard enough, it shouldn’t take more than 2 weeks.

Hoolahulahoop · 25/08/2022 18:46

Feeling inspired .. need to do this and then some.

NotMyDust · 25/08/2022 18:55

I'd not go too hard on the excercise if its weight loss you're after specifically, I'd look at what you eat. I used to work alongside health advisors and they said its 80% diet 20% excercise. You may end up building muscle which weighs! it will tone you and possibly shrink waist measurement however.

I guess it's a balance between feeling weak from lack of food and excercise....anyway 5:2 x as often as i can for me! Still took about 3 months though ...

If I stick to 100% clean eating with the 18/6 fasting and keep up my exercise, I admit I'm very curious how much fat I can lose and how quickly!

I'm not hungry at all now, and weirdly have more energy that usual for an evening - amazing.

I've lost some weight recently, I'm not sure how much because I didn't weigh myself before (I noticed my clothes were a bit baggier and people I hadn't seen for a while, even kids (!!) said I'd lost weight 😂) I've weighed myself now and I want to loose about another stone. I've been having two meals a day, just trying to cut the food bill down really, like a sandwich or toast at half 11 then normal dinner but stopping when I'm full.
I have slimfast shakes here too that I might aswell use up as a meal. I'm going to try and drink loads more water too, I have way too much Pepsi max Blush

Thomasina79 · 26/08/2022 18:14

I’ve been trying to stick to just one meal a day, then I read that if you go too low you can actually gain weight (aaargh pulls hair out). I have given up wine which is the greatest change for me and eat my usual evening meal, diet soup and ryvita for lunch and fruit. I have gone from a size 22 to a size 18 which I know is still too much. I am five foot six. Still onwards and upwards! I am particularly proud that I can get on the floor without holding on to anything and can also get up without holding on. Little steps! I found the recent threat on am I being unreasonable about size 18 being obese very depressing, especially when I was feeling quite proud of myself. I would like to lose another two stone. Good luck everybody!

Reagol · 26/08/2022 19:53

That's amazing @Thomasina79 Well done! Try to ignore the negative comments on other threads, unfortunately MN can bring out the worst in people, and so many trolls. You're doing brilliantly and don't let anyone affect your pride.

I know, all the information out there can be confusing... eat less/more/eat regulary/fast...arg!

I know in the end it's about calories in and calories out but it never seems as simple or easy as that.

So, I've stuck to an 18 hour fast today. In my 6 hour window, I've eaten cacao porridge and blueberries, a banana, a plum, veg and chicken with wholewheat pasta, grapefruit & Greek yoghurt. Just had water to drink today.

Exercise - 6 hour shift at work (12k steps, didn't get chance to sit down) then a 40 min weights workout, 3km run and short walk. 20k steps total.

Feeling good!

Will keep myself accountable on this thread.

Might be a drastic solution, my DH would be bewildered!

I'm sorry to hear if you've suffered this way, stress can be so awful.

Another 1lb loss this morning. Again, it's most likely to be water but still happy I'm 2lb down from Thursday.

My plan is to hit the gym this morning and then go for a longer run, then eat at 12.30pm when my fast window ends. I need to batch cook a healthy curry, so that'll be dinner for the next few nights.

BloodyCamping · 27/08/2022 06:18

I need to do the same.

hellocleveland · 27/08/2022 06:40

I was top of my BMI recently and lost 10 pounds in 3 weeks. The plan was to do it in 5 weeks (for my holiday) but in the end I lost 12 pounds overall.

I wrote everything down in a notebook. Stayed in a calorie deficit. Avoided crisps, refined sugars, stuck to low cal bread. I still ate carbs but in smaller portions.

I do run 3/4 times a week but my job is fairly inactive so the weight loss was definitely 95% the food I was consuming.

I just focused on that goal of being happier on my holiday and wearing my (normally) comfy shorts again. Thankfully it worked.

Good luck!
