And while I am at it can anything be done about my bingo wings and belly?

I lost 54lbs about 3/4 yrs ago - I have kept the weight off but there are bits of me that are quite flabby

I weight 10st 7lbs & I am a comfy size 14/16 but not Terribly over weight - my BMI is 25

Any ideas?

hmmm...I know this is a very personal question but do you mean flabby as in fat or fllabby as in loose skin?

KatyMac · 19/01/2008 22:08

Arms & chin are fat

Tummy is a bit loose skin plus fat underneath

There are some exercises you can do to tone up facial and neck areas, same with belly and bingo wings. I also a size 14/16 and my belly and thighs are my problem areas. You could try a facial toner, it just sounds like you need to tone up. Hard to find the time when theres children around i know cause i've tried.

KatyMac · 19/01/2008 22:10

& I have more children round than most BITCAT

Will a toner do anything I thought they were more about skin tone

If my dh said that I'd give him one too match

Piffle · 19/01/2008 22:11

KatyMac · 19/01/2008 22:13

I think he was worried - i was quite poorly before christmas with tooth/ear/throat problems & they started up again today - i think he thought I was swollen.....I'm not

Toners can't work miracles but they can help!! It's all about tighting the skin up, in the same way as you would tone up your tummy area, with exercise the same can be done with facial areas. Maybe try going for a facial now and again too, it will help skin tone also.

BITCAT · 19/01/2008 22:55

KatyMac just seen your profile, i see what you mean about the children!

3andnomore · 19/01/2008 23:06

Hmmm...on Rosemary Connelys (spelling?) site they do those face toners...as in exercise toning....and they are meant to be good for things like double chin etc...! It's a contraption you put in your mouth and then have to work against ( I suppose) and it tones the muscles.

Well, as to fat, the only way to get rid of it is diet, I suppose...not as in depriving yourself, but healthy and all that might just do....and o course regualr cardio vascular exercising will help with fat burning.
Exercise also increases metabolism... weight exercises are better for toning and building up muscle will also be good to increase the metabolic rate and fat burning...however, loose skin flabs , there isn't much you can do other then surgery to "cut"£ them away, I suppose...sorry to say!

3andnomore · 19/01/2008 23:09

Just looked at your profile....lol...anyway...exercsing is really about discipline and the will to do it, and then you will make the time...i.e. get up earlier then you would otherwise...until the winter came with it's dark cold mornings I got up at 5am to fit in an hours exercise before having to sort the Kids out...but now it all has gone to pods...and don't I just know it....sigh!

KatyMac · 19/01/2008 23:10

Surgery Yuk
Umm Exercise Yuk

I think I'll just stay fat

I do quite a lot of pram pushing (often with 2/3 children in) and that hasn't helped my arms - I wonder what exercise would?

I think my chin is here to stay unfortunately

Waaaaaay too many children but I do love them all

KATYMAC, there is something you can do -- tell him to sod off!

KatyMac · 19/01/2008 23:43

How embarrassing I just caught sight of myself in a mirror and I have a jaw the size of I don't know what. DH is obviously very observant as he mentioned it at about 5pm - I now look like a hamster

I guess I have swollen glands or something

Ermm maybe my double chin isn't that bad ?

OP posts:
3andnomore · 19/01/2008 23:52

hm...you sure you are physically o.k./healthy? Not being sarcastic, but of course swelling etc. can be a sign of some illnesses, etc...

KatyMac · 19/01/2008 23:54

Well it goes quite nicely with my earache & sore throat

I feel so silly - I was quite put out with DH earlier & now I feel a pratt

OP posts:
3andnomore · 19/01/2008 23:55

"kissing disease" , Mumps or just swollen glands as part of some viral infection?

KatyMac · 19/01/2008 23:56

I think virus

Best thing to do about is hit DH and tell him if he doesn't have anything positive to say to keep his trap shut!! .

Sorry I see you added he was worried about you

3andnomore · 19/01/2008 23:57
