Anyone want to join and share experiences?
Currently TD2 and obese. Size 18/20. Would ideally love to lose 6-7stone.
Injected at 8pm last night, started on 0.5 as there is a shortage of 0.25 pens. Done loads of research, and injected into my thigh rather than tummy.

So far i have been ok, was warned by GP about side effects being worse on 0.50. Felt mild nausea on and off, nothing major.
So far had i 200g protein yogurt and some melon. Normally by now would have grazed all morning.

Drank 1l water so far.

Will check in later :)

@jojogoesbust how are you getting on? I'm similar size to you and wondering if I should try it?

jojogoesbust · 23/07/2022 09:20

hello. I am just entering day 3.
a little nausea, it’s like being in the first trimester of pregnancy lol. I just am not hungry. Feel full really quickly. I struggled to get 1000 calories in on 1st day. I managed better yesterday with 1300.

What's the difference between injecting in your thigh or stomach?

Knuddlebär9 · 23/07/2022 23:34

Thanks @jojogoesbust sounds like you're doing well. I'd love to reduce my appetite and reset. Were you prescribed it or did you get through an online private Dr?

EnglishGirlApproximately · 29/07/2022 09:24

How are you getting on now? I'm considering this or Saxendo but I'm worried about the side affects. Be interested to see how you're feeling a week later and if its working for you.

jojogoesbust · 29/07/2022 10:40

Hey 👋
so week 1 done and I lost 9lbs
i just had no appetite. Worst day was Saturday, I vomited and I think either scrambled eggs or bacon were the cause. Learning what I can eat and not. Eat little and trying to eat more. Drinking at least 2l water a day.
went away for a few days and missed my dose Wednesday evening so I will inject tomorrow morning

I was prescribed

Wow that's amazing. I'm a similar size to you and to be honest would be happy enough just to get down to around a 14 - I've never been actually slim so have no sense of what it feels like but I know I'm happy at 14.

How easy / hard was it to get on prescription? I've tried SW and calorie counting and while I've lost a couple of pounds it's never made her difference

jojogoesbust · 29/07/2022 12:40

Well Im diabetic. Also BMI over 40 which are the conditions set by the NHS. I think you can buy it privately for around £130 a month

Thanks jojo, really helpful. Very best of luck with it

WhatALump · 29/07/2022 13:33

Were you prescribed by your gp or did you have to go to a tier 3 service?

overitall1 · 29/07/2022 13:45

Just as an alternative experience - I have been on it for 4 months, lost a stone and then it has stopped having any effect. Appetite returned to normal, no weight loss. Exactly as if I'm not taking it. It isn't a miracle weight loss tool for everyone! Mine is prescribed.

jojogoesbust · 29/07/2022 15:01

Side effects are not as bad :)

OP posts:
jojogoesbust · 29/07/2022 15:01

My GP prescribed it

Have you upped the dose?

Thank you 😊

I've been prescribed it for Type 2 diabetes, but my pharmacy has not been able to source it (they told me after waiting 4 weeks).
I've got to try a different pharmacy tomorrow.

Unicornspirit · 29/07/2022 15:13

I was put on it for diabetes. Since Feb I have lost just under 3 stone. I'm on 0.5 dose

Cones · 29/07/2022 15:16

Can I ask why you’re injecting into thigh rather than stomach?

Cones · 29/07/2022 15:16

If it’s better I’m going to swap!

@jojogoesbust do you mind if I ask which pharmacy you're getting yours from ? (I dont mesn which area of the country, I mean Boots etc).

I've tried 3 different pharmacies now and I can't get it (I have been prescribed it for diabetes).

(Tried Boots, Lloyds, Tesco).

Hello! I got mine from Lloyds but I had to start on 0.5 as there is a supply issue with 0.25
I live in the West Midlands

I'm same size as you OP but no T2 so just bought it myself. I intended to use it to reset my bad habits (can't afford to use it long term) and lost a stone in the first month. Unfortunately as soon as I stopped it the ravenous hunger came back again and I put all the weight and more back on again.

Forconfessingonly · 30/07/2022 15:52

Thanks @jojogoesbust yes it's the 0.25 that I'm prescribed.
I've tried 5 different pharmacies now and none have it.
I'll have to try to speak to the nurse on Monday.
