Four week blast - 6lbs/2.7kgs to lose. Anyone with me?

I started a six week blast a while ago got derailed by life. So I’m picking up where I left off – anyone with me?

I have 2.7kg/6lb to lose.

I’m giving myself 30 days to do it. I want to be 2.7kg/6lb lighter on Monday 15th August.

I weighed myself today and I’m 54.4kgs/8’8lb. I’m 5’1 and carrying excess around the belly and the hips. I know you can’t target weight loss in particular areas of the body but a good overall toning will help firm things up.

In terms of diet – I’ll be calorie counting (sticking to about 1,200-1,300 per day), not drinking alcohol, trying to eat as healthily as I can.

In terms of exercise – I’m hoping to do at least three exercise classes per week (depending on weather/heatwave). I usually do boxing on Mondays, circuits classes on Tuesday, and strength training on Thursdays. There is also the option for a Saturday military bootcamp class but the instructor is very uninspiring so it feels like a bit of a chore. I’m off swimming tomorrow morning so might add that to my regular exercise plans.

Anyone with me?

Hang in there LoveToWearADress, you can do it. Four kg is definitely possible.

Life is full of challenges to weight loss isn't it. I comfort eat when the dc are stressful, haven't been able to stop doing that so I just try to have small amounts. It's never the healthiest food though!

Today I discovered some new low-cal ice cream tubs from Waitrose called Jude's, they're 88 cals for the chocolate one and 93 for salted caramel.

Am envious of your holiday!

Thank you so much- I got back to the gym at last.

I have no trouble restricting foods or alcohol etc. it's just my exercise routine and sticking to a low cal diet. If I'm with my OH I'll eat as much as he does ... and he's doing more exercise than me and is bigger ...

LoveToWearADress · 05/08/2022 08:36

I need to remind myself it's just been 3 weeks!

I've tried doing the low carb boot camp before but as I'm nearly vegan it doesn't work for me.

But restricting carbs and having a lot of water during the day, small fasts here and here, plus smaller portions, is all good!

Onesunnydayiniceland · 05/08/2022 15:49

last 2 days have been a disaster, nowhere near the 1200 kcal I was aiming for but at least my exercise has gone well. I just couldn't resist the fresh sourdough bread DH bought, I have a 13 km run tomorrow so I am hoping that will offset the excess carb fest!

Hereforaccountability · 08/08/2022 22:25

Hey all, are you still here or should we start a new thread? I definitely need accountability, my first 10 days on here went well then it quietened down and I've gone off track.

How's it going @SexyTimeNotGenderTime , with a week to go?

TabithaTittlemouse · 08/08/2022 22:38

Still here @Hereforaccountability .
I have been good eating wise (although have drunk quite a bit) but not so good on the exercise side! I’ve not weighed myself as I’ve been away but will tomorrow.

AllThatAndMore · 09/08/2022 07:22

Hi there 👋 !

I’ve been quiet on here because I stopped weighing myself . I lost 1 kilo in the first two weeks and was feeling down about it . I don’t know why because I even originally said I thought a 1 kilo weight loss every week wasn’t realistic for me . I made my husband hide the scale because I was feeling crap.

Anyway ever since he hid the scale, I feel so much better and I even think my diet has gotten better . My exercise is perfect ( training for a half marathon plus tons of walking and at home workout videos )! I even fit a pair of shorts I haven’t worn for years ( I lost 20 kilo of baby weight last year so this weight loss journey is a continuation from that ).

I have two goals this year . My first is 69.9 kilo for August 19th and maaaaybe I can do it but I’m not weighing myself this month so I don’t know . I might sneak on the scales on the 19th to see haha. My end goal is 66 kilo by September 25th but even if I got to this goal by December I’ll feel happy .

Hereforaccountability · 09/08/2022 22:47

Glad you're both still here. Keep it up!

I've been going over my 1,200 target most days for a while now, I know why I do it - comfort eating - but it's a vicious circle because then I feel miserable that I'm not on track. Don't think I'm going over 1,700 though so hopefully not gaining weight.

And again it's become too hot to exercise (that's my excuse anyway!)

SexyTimeNotGenderTime · 10/08/2022 09:32

Hi everyone!

Where has the time gone? Only five days left. How's everyone doing? I haven't nudged since last week's weigh-in😭

I've been exercising but haven't been as strict with calories as I should have. Ooops.

@Hereforaccountability I hear you about the exercise - I did a HIIT class last night, it was brutal. I put in zero effort 😅

@AllThatAndMore Glad things are going well and you've managed to get into your shorts. Go girl!!

Shall we see where we are on Monday and we can always start another thread to take us through the rest of August, maybe into September?

Have you made much progress since the start @SexyTimeNotGenderTime ? I bet it's helped with fitness if not actual kg.

I'd be really keen to continue on another thread, so yes lets see where we are on Monday.

tigerbear · 11/08/2022 23:23

Hi all, I haven’t posted for ages, as like others, I stopped weighing myself, and stopped calorie counting due to being away from home.
Finally got weighed yesterday, and haven’t lost anything, unsurprisingly, but haven’t gained either.

1 week to honeymoon, and actually feeling ok about it. Haven’t lost nearly as much weight as I’d hoped to, but am more toned.

Hereforaccountability · 13/08/2022 10:49

It was a very good effort @tigerbear Losing weight is such a challenge.

I'd personally rather be toned than lighter - after all, that's what people see.

Hope you have a wonderful honeymoon x

tigerbear · 13/08/2022 22:49

@Hereforaccountability thank you x

Hereforaccountability · 16/08/2022 08:50

Hi All, shall we start a new thread?

I've got 10lbs to go and I think most of us here also had less than a stone to lose - so it could be focused on the last few pounds?

AllThatAndMore · 16/08/2022 11:38

@Hereforaccountability Yes !! My end goal is still 5kg away !

I snuck on the scales earlier this week and lost another kilo 😅 so I’m feeling good about that but I have a friend visiting at the moment so I’m not as focused .

Hereforweightlosshelp · 18/08/2022 18:09

Cool, I'll start one now, something like 'less than a stone to lose'

See you there!

newbeliever · 01/09/2022 11:50

Hi everyone; I disappeared as I was on holiday. I’ll go and find you on the new thread. In the end I managed a 1.5kg loss before my holiday (7.5kg to date) and I didn’t put any weight on whilst I was away. It was so hot and humid it hampered my appetite, plus we were walking 20000 + steps a day. I would still like to lose another half to one stone but I know the final pounds are the trickiest!
