Four week blast - 6lbs/2.7kgs to lose. Anyone with me?

I started a six week blast a while ago got derailed by life. So I’m picking up where I left off – anyone with me?

I have 2.7kg/6lb to lose.

I’m giving myself 30 days to do it. I want to be 2.7kg/6lb lighter on Monday 15th August.

I weighed myself today and I’m 54.4kgs/8’8lb. I’m 5’1 and carrying excess around the belly and the hips. I know you can’t target weight loss in particular areas of the body but a good overall toning will help firm things up.

In terms of diet – I’ll be calorie counting (sticking to about 1,200-1,300 per day), not drinking alcohol, trying to eat as healthily as I can.

In terms of exercise – I’m hoping to do at least three exercise classes per week (depending on weather/heatwave). I usually do boxing on Mondays, circuits classes on Tuesday, and strength training on Thursdays. There is also the option for a Saturday military bootcamp class but the instructor is very uninspiring so it feels like a bit of a chore. I’m off swimming tomorrow morning so might add that to my regular exercise plans.

Anyone with me?

TabithaTittlemouse it's The Ordinary 10% Argireline Solution, £7.30, only started using it yesterday so no conclusion yet. It goes on and sinks in easily. Certainly cheaper than botox!

Not bad newbeliever, you're on track Star

Here's to another good week!

SexyTimeNotGenderTime · 25/07/2022 11:19

Morning everyone! Congratulations on all the weight loss and good behaviours that've been going on Grin

I weighed myself yesterday and I was 53.5kg so half a kilo off since my last weigh-in, and just under a kilo since I started. It's going a bit slower than I'd hoped but I'm blaming last week's weather for that Grin

Today is a new week and I'm hoping for a pound off this week (0.4kg). I'm signed up for boxing tonight, circuits tomorrow, circuits Friday and military bootcamp on Saturday. I've just done an online shop stuffed with good, low calorie food which will arrive tomorrow. So I'm feeling motivated and positive.

I don't have any holidays booked this summer (holidays aren't an option for us because we won't/don't/can't leave our dog) so not really losing weight for that. One goal though is when I return to the office in September (I work at home all summer) I want to look absolutely banging Grin

Thanks for that botox in a bottle recommendation @Hereforaccountability I'm really trying good skincare at the moment so I might give this a go too. Good skincare is also part of my dramatic, head-turning, sashaying re-entrance at work 😅

@SexyTimeNotGenderTime well done!
@Hereforaccountability thank you, I’ll give it a go!
@newbeliever It’s so hard! I took in a salad today but left it in the fridge and was out all day so ended up buying teriyaki salmon bowl.

I am down 2lbs though! I’m off tomorrow so hopefully I’ll get a long walk and maybe a swim in.

TabithaTittlemouse · 26/07/2022 23:32

Oh and I have ordered one of those weighted hula hoop’s which I thought might be worth a laugh!

newbeliever · 27/07/2022 18:42

Well done everyone; you’re all sounded focused and keeping the exercise up!

Ive had a good couple of days, but definitely feels the loss is slowing! Weighed 68.9 this morning so 1.1 down since I started. I’m hoping for 0.75kg loss this week, so around 1 and a half pounds.

@SexyTimeNotGenderTime I’m with you on looking fab when we return to work in September 😀 Though my 2 weeks on holiday immediately beforehand May scupper that plan!! Would love people to be amazed at how good I look after not seeing me for 2 months, I can dream! 🤣

Hereforaccountability · 27/07/2022 20:23

Hi All, I'm just about hanging in there but have hit my hormonal days of the month 😦More or less keeping to 1,200 cals except yesterday when I went over by about 300 (chocolate, needless to say). I'm weighing on Saturdays so got a couple of days to pull it back.

Determined not to give up and you're all inspiring me 💪

tigerbear · 28/07/2022 08:30

Hi everyone, good to hear that everyone is on the right track, very inspiring!
I’m on holiday at the moment/visiting family, so completely out of my normal exercise and healthy eating routine.

Definitely not as bad as it could be and haven’t gone crazy, but am obviously eating out more, having ice cream, sweets, more alcohol etc
i had 4 days break from exercise, but did workouts yesterday and day before.
will do another today.

newbeliever · 28/07/2022 10:00

@Hereforaccountability i think we all suffer from the hormonal slip up with chocolate, I know I do. I felt very naughty last night eating 3 giant M&S chocolate buttons! Sometimes we need a little of what we fancy. Did my w3r2 run this morning, weighted 68.8kg so going in the right direction 😊

Enjoy your hols @tigerbear you’re doing great to keep exercising on hols. I think my running will stop when we’re away as it will be so hot, however, I will be walking a lot of steps as we’re in Florida visiting theme parks, good will be a challenge though!

Meant to say food!!

tigerbear · 28/07/2022 10:14

@newbeliever thank you
Have just done workout - certainly needed to be done today, as I’m out this evening at one of my favourite restaurants for a 12 course tasting menu 😬

SexyTimeNotGenderTime · 28/07/2022 10:47

Morning everyone! I weighed-in this morning and I'm 100g down since Monday so now I'm 53.4kg (8stone 5lbs)😂

I'm not too disappointed - I'm heading into my period which always means water-retention and big bloated belly.

Plus, whenever I've tried to lose weight in the past, I always hit a bump around 8'5 and really struggle get the pounds off from here. But I'll keep at it.

I hope you're enjoying your holidays @tigerbear

On the theme of flouncing back to work - anyone also opting for a few new wardrobe items to go with our slimmed down looks? Grin

I weighed myself this morning and after one week I GAINED .7kg lol.

I’m not too bothered . I know from experience that weight loss ( at least for me ) yo yo’s a lot . Plus I’m on my period and I ate salty food yesterday ( soy sauce is my weakness ).

I snuck on the scales a couple days ago in the evening and saw it moving in the right direction so fingers crossed I’ll see a loss next week !

You are all keeping me motivated with your weight loss 👏

@tigerbear wow, 12 course tasting menu sounds amazing!!

Hereforaccountability · 29/07/2022 08:22

How frustrating AllThatAndMore, good attitude though. I'm sure you'll get there. Am also expecting very little progress today, but I guess that's the way it goes.

I really must run today if I'm going to have any chance in the 10k which is now only 4 and a bit weeks away!

Onesunnydayiniceland · 29/07/2022 09:03

Hello, can I join you? 162cm and 58.9 kg although relatively happy with my weight would like to get to 55 kg. WW has worked well for me in the past, but will do calorie counting now. I generally run 3 times a week and 2 yoga sessions and have a half marathon coming up beginning of October so will have to increase my long runs soon. Had porridge with banana and a teaspoon of peanut butter for breakfast and hoping this will take me through to the evening with just some salad for lunch as I am going out tonight.

Hereforaccountability · 29/07/2022 12:18

Welcome Onesunnydayiniceland! Your plan sounds good, and it's great to have a half marathon to build up to.

Don't take advice from me though, I'm in a hormonal fug and just ate ice cream for lunch Shock

Hereforaccountability · 29/07/2022 19:06

So after 800 cals of ice cream!!! I've pulled it back, had a salad and ran 5k on the treadmill. Might delay tomorrow's weigh in till Sunday though and try to have a good day tomorrow. It'll be easier in a bit once my hormones resume normal service.

LoveToWearADress · 30/07/2022 12:08

Weighed in this morning and I'm at 66.5 kgs. This still has room to fluctuate but it's all going in the right direction.
I've cut down on carbs and sugar - no cheeky ice creams etc when it's been hot and very little bread
Lots more water
Every other day dropping a meal, usually lunch
Seems to be working!

Hereforaccountability · 31/07/2022 10:21

Well done LoveToWearADress! That's great. Your plan is working (though I'd struggle with missing meals, I get too hungry)

I'm weighing and measuring the same as last week, but considering the slip-ups I've had I'm lucky not to have gone up!

AllThatAndMore · 31/07/2022 19:52

@LoveToWearADress well done 👏 Im impressed, I struggle with restricting food . I usually have no will power . Tonight I was strong though and skipped ice cream 😁

@Onesunnydayiniceland I just signed up to a half marathon too - Oct 2nd . Now I need to train 🙊!

Hereforaccountability · 02/08/2022 08:15

Hi everyone, how's it going? I'm still a bit hormonal and have felt hungrier than usual, so I'm going over 1,200 cals, though not more than 1,700 max, but I expect I won't lose anything this way despite a fair bit of exercise.

Will be back on track in a few days though.

Am out tonight for a pub meal, could go bit pear-shaped so I'll need to be vigilant!

SexyTimeNotGenderTime · 03/08/2022 10:24

Hi everyone! Welcome @Onesunnydayiniceland

I haven't weighed in for a while because my period has played havoc with my body. Water retention all over the shop and constant hunger pangs for salty-salty foods. I've basically lived on crisps since last week. I reckon I've still been fairly low calorie but not exactly healthy 😐

Despite feeling like death, I've dragged myself to exercise on Friday, Monday and Tuesday. I might wait until the weekend to weigh-in, wait until the effects of my period have definitely disappeared.

We've got just under two weeks until 15th August - I'm not too confident that I'll reach my target weight but that's okay.

LoveToWearADress · 03/08/2022 11:38

I'm struggling with getting back to the gym and a routine as I've had a virus and my period. Off on hols next week so I was kind of thinking 'what's the point'.

I do however walk for at least 45 minutes every day because I have the dogs.

I'm fluctuating at 67kgs at the moment, down from 70 so that's a win!

Would love to get back to 63

Hereforaccountability · 03/08/2022 19:07

Hang in there LoveToWearADress, you can do it. Four kg is definitely possible.

Life is full of challenges to weight loss isn't it. I comfort eat when the dc are stressful, haven't been able to stop doing that so I just try to have small amounts. It's never the healthiest food though!

Today I discovered some new low-cal ice cream tubs from Waitrose called Jude's, they're 88 cals for the chocolate one and 93 for salted caramel.

Am envious of your holiday!

Hereforaccountability · 03/08/2022 19:10

Oh didn't see your message SexyTimeNotGenderTime, water retention and hormonal cravings are a deadly combination. Very well done on all the exercise though!

You're inspiring me to do some this evening.
