Four week blast - 6lbs/2.7kgs to lose. Anyone with me?

SexyTimeNotGenderTime · 15/07/2022 16:01

I started a six week blast a while ago got derailed by life. So I’m picking up where I left off – anyone with me?

I have 2.7kg/6lb to lose.

I’m giving myself 30 days to do it. I want to be 2.7kg/6lb lighter on Monday 15th August.

I weighed myself today and I’m 54.4kgs/8’8lb. I’m 5’1 and carrying excess around the belly and the hips. I know you can’t target weight loss in particular areas of the body but a good overall toning will help firm things up.

In terms of diet – I’ll be calorie counting (sticking to about 1,200-1,300 per day), not drinking alcohol, trying to eat as healthily as I can.

In terms of exercise – I’m hoping to do at least three exercise classes per week (depending on weather/heatwave). I usually do boxing on Mondays, circuits classes on Tuesday, and strength training on Thursdays. There is also the option for a Saturday military bootcamp class but the instructor is very uninspiring so it feels like a bit of a chore. I’m off swimming tomorrow morning so might add that to my regular exercise plans.

Anyone with me?

Quite possibly @Hereforaccountability - DH reckons I’m looking more toned, and I can see that my legs/thighs are firmer, but it’s still frustrating not seeing any great improvement on my stomach.
and yes, just been time of the month, and I do tend to bloat a lot!

newbeliever · 20/07/2022 12:16

@Hereforaccountability well done on your loss, great start, such a boost when you see the results on the scales! I’m a fellow pear-shape so feel your pain, though I have noticed that a benefit of getting older is that the weight seems to be more evenly spread in recent years! Probably why I was able to get up to almost 12 stone without noticing hugely with my clothes as typically I have a lot of room on the waist due to bigger hips!

@TabithaTittlemouse i’ve decided to stick with Noom for now as I’ve paid the monthly subscription. Not sure it’s worth keeping it long term but it has helped me keep on track when I’ve daily the daily log.

@AllThatAndMore whatever your weight today, you’re going in the right direction 😊let’s see how much we can lose between now and mid august!

So today, I weighed 69.6kg, only had 900 calories yesterday due to heat, very unusual for me to manage on so little! I’ve completed W2R1 c25k, had usual skyr/blueberries for breakfast, aiming for 1200 calories a day, maybe 1300 if I’ve done a lot of exercise. Pleased with the loss so far, but realise it will slow down, on target to lose a 1kg the first week if I can keep this up!

QuebecBagnet · 20/07/2022 15:49

Well done @Hereforaccountability thats a good loss. I was just under 84kg this morning so a 2kg in total now. Am hoping to be under 80kg by maybe mid August, or definitely end of August. I’ve done a 25 mile bike ride today.

QuebecBagnet · 20/07/2022 15:52

@tigerbear not sure how much you feel you need to lose but it’s definitely harder the less you have to lose. I dream of being 8stone something 😁. So don’t be disheartened , it just might be slower/harder for you if you’re nearer a realistic weight?

newbeliever · 21/07/2022 09:22

Morning everyone. I managed to stick to 1200 calories yesterday, just been on an hour walk … I’m definitely enjoying the walking more than c25k but I know I do need to do something that gets my heart pounding!

Well done @QuebecBagnet on your bike ride, I think I’d get saddle sore doing that sort of distance! 😀

Ive got a quiet weekend coming up so feel I can stick to the diet well this weekend. Social events always seem to trip me up!

How is everyone else getting on?

SexyTimeNotGenderTime · 21/07/2022 10:14

Hi everyone!
@tigerbear Don't be too down about the lack of weight loss - if you're looking more toned and feeling good then it's heading in the right direction. Plus, periods play havoc with our water retention and how that translates onto the scales. Keep at it, girl!

I weighed myself yesterday and was 54kg (8st 7lb) so a pound off. I'd have liked a little bit more off but it's been so bloody hot that I've not exercised and eaten nothing but salt (still around 1,300-calories per day somehow).

But I'm booked up for circuits tomorrow and military bootcamp on Saturday so that'll help.

I weighed myself this morning to see what my starting weight is. I’m 73.1 exactly . I was hoping it would be less but oh well . I’m hoping to lose 2lbs a week but I struggle with diet . I mostly eat healthy but I can’t seem to eat less than 2000 calories.

Last year I lost 20kgs of baby weight with just exercise but I got lazy with the exercise and I’m now having to build up again . I can barely do 5k and last year I was running 45kms a week.

Im also still nursing 🤱 although my son is 20 months old so I’m not too concerned about restricting calories . I’m just so hungry all the time . Yesterday I ran 5kms and did a 30 minute core strength workout video. I ate healthy but probably too much 😔

newbeliever · 21/07/2022 13:09

@AllThatAndMore it won’t be long before you see the 72 flash up on the scales 😊You are doing so well with your weight loss and fitness! I didn’t even attempt to lose weight until my children were at school!

if you’re struggling to eat under 2000 calories, maybe try abs go for a lower cal breakfast and lunch? High protein helps me to feel full up for longer, eggs/chicken with salad. I’m also loving skyr for breakfast and I don’t feel hungry at all during the morning. It’s boring but I know it’s low cal and fills me up.

Hollyhead · 21/07/2022 13:11

Can I join? Only got 3kg to lose and have done well all summer until a few weeks ago when I fell off the bandwagon!

SexyTimeNotGenderTime · 21/07/2022 13:19

Hi @AllThatAndMore Well done on your 20kg loss and getting back to exercise Smile

I'd recommend experimenting with different foods that keep you full for different amounts of time. I'm obsessed with cous cous at the minute - it's so versatile and keeps me feeling full for hours and hours. It might not work for you but try different foodstuffs to see what works for you. I find soup really, really filling, for example, but DP is hungry after half hour so you need to see what's best for you.

Hello @Hollyhead Of course you can! Welcome!

Thank you! Have had a pretty good day so far but will need to resist pick and mix later!

newbeliever · 22/07/2022 13:27

How is everyone doing today? I had to really force myself to do w2r2 this morning, but glad I did it. Only eaten a banana so far, but will have salad and small amount of salmon for lunch in a bit. Forgot to weight myself first thing so did it after banana and coffee, 69.5kg so half a kg so far, hoping it will be nearer 1kg on Monday when I weigh myself first thing before I eat or drink anything! 😀

QuebecBagnet · 22/07/2022 15:41

I had a rubbish day yesterday. Didn’t stick to intermittent fasting and ate a bag of Percy Pigs at 10am! No exercise apart from walking the dog, didn’t go to the gym, had pasta and ice cream for dinner. Weighed 1kg heavier today!

LoveToWearADress · 22/07/2022 16:30

Fabulously happy to say I've lost 2kgs this week, by increasing water intake and lowering carb intake. Hit an all time high of 70kgs so I'm happy to be heading back down the scales

Hereforaccountability · 22/07/2022 18:07

Amazing work LoveToWearADress! Such a good feeling isn't it?

I'm still going strong, staying at/under 1,200 cals though not doing quite as much exercise as I'd like. Am rushed off my feet with general mum duties and work but although taxing these things sadly don't burn many cals.

Best of luck to all. Who else is doing a Saturday morning weigh-in?

I've only done a bit of walking and swimming, practically zero exercise, it was so hot this week. I expect most of that weight loss was water retention but I'll take that loss anytime...! Now to keep it going downwards. Would love to get back to 62kgs one day!!!!

newbeliever · 23/07/2022 11:14

Morning everyone, so weighed myself first thing and I was 69.2kg so chuffed with that when it’s not a week yet. .8kg since Monday.

@LoveToWearADress 2kg is a fab result in one week!

Just need to stay focussed, especially as it’s the weekend. I tried on a couple of my holiday dresses and shorts yesterday, they all fit (which they wouldn’t have 2 months ago!) but a few more pounds off my waist would be fab and make them more comfortable to wear. Just over 3 weeks to go so hope I can knock at least another 5lbs off on top of the couple from this week.

Anyone else have holidays coming up?

Hereforaccountability · 23/07/2022 12:50

You can definitely do it newbeliever

I'm still 2lbs down since last weekend, the same as Wednesday, but 3/4" smaller hips Shock Am absolutely thrilled (though it must be mostly water). Can already get into my smaller jeans, tum much flatter. Can't tell you how pleased I am.

Went to the gym just now, then going on a long walk later (to Boots to buy some 'botox in a bottle' I read about Blush ), then planning an evening on my exercise bike/treadmill while watching a film.

It's better weather now for exercising, thank goodness. Good luck everyone!

newbeliever · 24/07/2022 16:40

Thanks @Hereforaccountability, I’m feeling quite motivated at the moment and I’m not feeling hungry which helps. It does make a difference when I can feel the improvement, especially getting into my old clothes! Sounds like you did a lot of exercise yesterday and great that your stomach is feeling flatter. My stomach has improved a lot but needs a bit of toning. I did my c25k run this morning and plan to go for a walk in a bit. Had roast lunch but avoided the trimmings and piled on the veg!

Will weigh again tomorrow to record first week’s loss, hoping it hasn’t gone up since yesterday!

AllThatAndMore · 24/07/2022 19:32

Well done everyone!!! 👏

I don’t weigh in until Thursday ! I’m still struggling to restrict the calories but overall I’m eating healthy . I went for an 18km walk today . I don’t think I’m doing enough to lose 2lbs a week but I’ll find out next week . Every bit counts and I’m putting in the exercise at least .

Hereforaccountability · 24/07/2022 20:07

I'm not surprised you're hungry though AllThatAndMore, I was ravenous all the way through breastfeeding. You're doing well to lose anything I think.

Good luck on the scales tomorrow newbeliever!

Is anyone taking measurements too? I tend to do that because I'm pear shaped and go quite out of proportion when I'm carrying extra weight on my hips. When they're around 37" all is well and I can fit into my nicer clothes. I'm still over 2" bigger and it's stubborn!

Am going on my treadmill this evening in front of a film. Someone recommended Kung Fu Hustle, hoping it'll be funny.

Hollyhead · 24/07/2022 20:18

I need to muster the bravery to weigh myself for a starting weight, feeling really annoyed I made progress and have undone a lot of it!

Hereforaccountability · 24/07/2022 21:39

Do you have an event coming up to help you get motivated Hollyhead?

My motivation is really high but I've only been going 8 days Grin much more recently than you. I'd let myself eat with no rules whatsoever for ages before that, hence ending up where I am now.

TabithaTittlemouse · 25/07/2022 06:26

You are all doing amazingly!
I’ve not been able to do much exercise but really making an effort with diet. I’ve not weighed for a few days and might wait until Saturday.
I got a juicer and I’m finding it really great atm for making sure that I get my fruit and veg. I’ve taken some inspiration from the sirt food diet for the last few days and the juice is quite nice! (Shockingly!).
I’ve packed a healthy lunch today and need to not but anything when out and about (new work live on take away lunches and it’s so easy to join in).

@Hereforaccountability what is the Botox in a bottle?

newbeliever · 25/07/2022 08:03

So still 69.2kg this morning, first week done. I make that just over 1.5lbs. Hasn’t been too painful but I am making time for more exercise than I usually do. Hoping I can maintain this for next 3 weeks and meet the 6lb goal before my holiday!

@TabithaTittlemouse i found the same with my new job, everyone got takeaway lunches so I joined in too. Definitely part of the reason I put on weight! Since May I have been taking in a salad and the weight started to come off. I need to stick with this going forward and not slip back to old habits when I go back in September.

@Hereforaccountability i’m a pear shape too, I haven’t been measuring at all, I wish I had now from the beginning as I’m sure my waist ahas shrunk a lot, I can tell by the belt notches on my jeans 😀 I might do that today, especially as I suspect it will get harder to lose the closer I get to my goal weight.
