Anyone in the same position and wants to journey together?

I'm attending a wedding on the 7/8 and need to lose at least a stone to fit into the dress I'm planning on wearing and not feel like a blob 😬 would be good to get dressed on the morning and actually feel confident in myself.

Not entirely sure how I'm going to lose it yet - will definitely increase my exercise and am going to work on my diet. Will get weighed in the morning and check back in again 🙂

@QueenAstrid welcome! I'm about the same (although my happy weight is in the early 9 stones - that feels quite a while away!)

Good luck 😊

Thanks @tryingtofindmyself - we can do this!

tryingtofindmyself · 13/06/2022 06:34

Pre-made plans meant I went a bit off plan over the weekend which wasn't ideal.

The ironic thing is I'd usually enjoyed eating what I had, a having a few drinks, but I felt so well after my few days of eating really healthily last week that by last night I just felt a bit bloated and rubbish, so I'm actually looking forward to getting back on it today Smile

Will be doing my online food shop later ready for delivery tomorrow and I'm factoring in lots of eggs, chicken/fish, salad/veg.

Good luck everyone for this coming week!

Well my first week was a flop - I gained a pound! I can't be surprised though as there was a lot of eating out this week bit am so determined now to get on track.
Good luck everyone

Amdone123 · 13/06/2022 11:10

@tryingtofindmyself , definitely you are what you eat is good to remember. I feel great when I'm eating properly.
You sound really motivated. Food shop sounds good.
Don't forget the water !
@Honourofgrayskull , yes, just forget that pound and keep going. It will come off if you mean business, and, you sound like you do !
Next weigh in, you'll see a loss 📉

TaffyandTeenyTaffy · 13/06/2022 11:27

Morning all, pleased to report a 2.4lb loss this morning. I put this mostly down to being very focused/not eating out at the weekend. I am usually really good all week but end up with a meal or two out that I just can't guess the calories etc for, which means I yoyo or maintain, so I totally get where you are coming from. Managed to do a bit of exercise and avoid the processed foods and wheat.

Good luck everyone for the new week. Don't be despondent about a gain.. ... just be consistent, the good work will add up .... we can do this!!

Endoftethermum1 · 13/06/2022 11:28

I’m going to join you for accountability too! I am going on holiday 6/8 and also need to lose a stone.
This is quite a big thing for me to write here as I don’t post much, more of a reader on Mumsnet but I need to change my approach. I am the heaviest I have ever weighed- I bought scales and am 82kg and am 168cm so that puts me firmly in the overweight category. I love food, have a busy life with 3 kids and have chocolate/biscuits every day. Over the years I seem to have developed an attitude of treating myself when I’m busy with a chocolate biscuit and the treat size bags will disappear without being shared! It’s actually got to the point where I am guilty of being greedy. My meals and breakfasts are healthy but my snacks are not!
I am going to update my weight here every Monday for accountability!
motivational tips gratefully received 😊

NeedAHoliday2021 · 13/06/2022 11:40

Please can I join? My iron levels are low which always makes me ravenous as my body hunts for energy!

i need to lose a stone to be healthy and for my lovely clothes. Currently 11st 5lbs. We have a big family party in 7 weeks so I’m hoping to lose it by then. Getting under 11st would be a start. For context, March 2020 I was 9st 12 and loving my body, about to run a half marathon.

QforCucumber · 13/06/2022 15:54

@QueenAstrid this is totally me too, and with a teething toddler I feel like I'm constantly reaching for the biscuits.

Rejoining WW has been great though so if anyone wants a referral code I think they're offering a free month atm.

Weighed in this morning and 1.5lbs off. I'm 5ft 5 in and weighing in at 11 stone 11lbs which is terrible for me, I'm long term aiming for 10stone (pre baby 2 weight) but small wins, we go away on the 29th June for a few days and want to be 11st 7 by then.

LongLiveThyKing · 13/06/2022 17:12

I really want to get from a size 8 to a 6 before my family holiday in 7 weeks. I know I’m already small but I look better skinny and I’m a model so it will help me get back to work too - currently 8 months postpartum and still don’t feel body confident like I did. Getting fed up of all the glares form the other mums at the school gate because I’m not working, apparently it offends them. I know I’m currently eating way too much so I’m going to start upping fluids and reducing food. Better for the skin too. Today was a write off as I just had a massive bolognese so I’ll have some chocolate tonight and start in the morning 😂 currently 114lbs at 5’7” I’d like to be 105lbs which is my happy weight.

Jeds55 · 13/06/2022 18:24

Can I join please. Started the year with a 7 week old baby and at 14st 7lbs. Currently 12st 2.8 but most of that weight loss happened in first 3 months of the year. Have seriously lost the motivation since then.
Pre having kids was slim and fit so really feeling it. Piled on over 4 stone in last pregnancy.

Got a family party on 13th August - would love to lose another stone by then but long term goal is 9 stone 9lbs.

Sticking with calorie counting, eating between midday and 8pm and having a more relaxed cheat day on a Sat.

Trying to get back into running but can only really go around 8:30pm most days and by then I'm knackered and usually go to bed. Hopefully the glorious weather will help.
Looking forward to seeing everyone's progress

You're already underweight based on your current height and weight. Enjoy your bolognese and chocolate !

tryingtofindmyself · 14/06/2022 06:42

@Honourofgrayskull good luck getting back on track, you've got this! 😁

@Amdone123 I've glad you've said that about the water, I never drink even close to enough. I really must work on that this week. 👍🏻

@TaffyandTeenyTaffy well done, that's an excellent loss! Hopefully enough to keep you motivated this week 😁

@Endoftethermum1 (love your username!)
I can very much relate to some of what you've said. My first DC was a terrible sleeper and I craved sugar to keep me going. I'd find myself regularly on the hunt for biscuits and chocolate just to give the sugar high, and will have been eating hundreds of extra calories a day just by mindlessly shoving crap into my mouth.
Good luck on making changes - I think small and sustainable is the easiest way to do it. I would think of 4 small changes that you want to make and change one each week for the next month 🙂

@NeedAHoliday2021 welcome 🙂

@LongLiveThyKing you're obviously very slim already and so I'd urge you to find comfort in how you look 💐 However, it's not up to me to decide how you should feel so good luck making healthy changes and I hope you're feel more comfortable in yourself soon.

@Jeds55 that's still a good loss, be proud of yourself! Good luck 😁

Well DS has had me up since 5.20am, it appears this is our new wake up time so I've started going to bed earlier as I don't want lack of sleep to hinder my efforts. I've done some little jobs around the house and now debating whether I can fit a workout in before everyone else gets up... Usually at this time I'd lie in a heap on the couch but I'm trying to make changes in lots of areas of my life and using my time more productively is one of them.

I will check back in later tonight, today will be a busy one of kids/housework/hospital visit. There's lots going on. Hope you all have a lovely, healthy day! 🥗

My iron levels are low which always makes me ravenous as my body hunts for energy!

This is worth knowing, wonder if a daily multi vitamin will help curb my appetite.

Endoftethermum1 · 14/06/2022 23:03

@tryingtofindmyself yes this weeks focus is when I’m hungry to not reach for snacks but to hold out for meals. I’m really pleased with todays efforts. I had fruit for breakfast, jacket potato with salad and fruit for lunch . and pasta for tea. I treated myself to an options hot chocolate and I was surprised how this fixed my sweet craving. I suppose I’m loosely following a slimming world approach.
I love the light nights and managed a 5km
walk after my 11 hours at work which was a lovely way to unwind.
ive also told my husband and kids of my 1 stone goal loss so they can support me.
hope everyone had a good day!

tryingtofindmyself · 15/06/2022 06:26

@Endoftethermum1 I think that's a good goal! And well done on a positive day Smile let it continue again today!

Yesterday I had:
B - Cereal/Milk
L- Prawn Salad with a little bit of coleslaw and salad cream
D - King prawn stir fry with egg noodles
S - hard boiled egg, large banana, baby bel

All logged on MFP and coming in 100 cals under my daily goal, so was happy with that. I also burned 700+ cals.

Not sure what I'll be having diet-wise today as I'm taking my DC into school for their first school dinner and we eat with them. So will have some breakfast and adjust my evening meal accordingly. Will also do a HIIT workout tonight.

Have a good day all 😁

Well I've weighed this morning and I'm down from 10 stone 9 1/4 to 10 stone 8 in 5 days Smile I'm happy with that considering a couple of my meals were out of my control and weren't ideal, but I've nothing else socially coming up so I'm going to crack on happily after seeing a loss!

Breakfast will be cereal I think
Lunch will be salad with a couple of hard boiled eggs
Dinner will be Bolognese, a weighed out portion of pasta and extra veg on the side (no garlic bread for me today haha!)

Not sure if anyone else is still checking this thread but I'm feeling better for the accountability so will keep coming back.

TwinklingFairyLights · 16/06/2022 10:15

I'm here for the diet tips. I do so much exercise but I wonder if I do too much because I'm permanently starving.

I need ideas if things that are very filling but not calorific please!

Did Pilates (1 hour). 30 mins walking fast uphill on treadmill. 30 mins (sedate) swimming. Last night. Then I came home and ate a packet of wotsits and a magnum.

tryingtofindmyself · 16/06/2022 10:26

@TwinklingFairyLights my understanding is that in order to be full, protein is best! Things I find filling are...

Chicken pieces
Hard boiled eggs
Portion of nuts
Cheese
Greek yoghurt/Fruit

QforCucumber · 17/06/2022 19:57

I’m still here; think this week will be a major fault though - ds2 2nd birthday so party food, cake and then fish and chips tonight have scuppered any real plans: hoping if I can stay the same and not gain and I’ll be happy

Jeds55 · 17/06/2022 21:06

Still checking in here too. Made a mostly good start back on the diet. Tuesday was a very stressful day so ate lots more than should have but didn't go too crazy with the sweet stuff. Having a meal out tjrw and couple of drinks probably then back on it Sunday before weigh in Monday.

Jeds55 · 17/06/2022 21:07

Well done on the loss OP.

tryingtofindmyself · 18/06/2022 07:25

Thanks @Jeds55 Smile glad to see people are still checking in!

Ended up out for tea last night so went over my calorie allowance sadly (it had all been going so well!) BUT usually I'd do that and then throw the towel in this morning, but nope, I'll be back on it today Grin going to try and fit plenty of exercise in this weekend, and make sure my portions are what they should be.

Will keep checking back, planning to weigh again on Monday/Tuesday morning I think. I find if I weigh every few days, rather than once a week, it's enough time to see a little loss but a short enough time to keep me going. I go off plan more if I feel like I still have 5/6 days before getting weighed again.

OP posts:
theremustonlybeone · 18/06/2022 08:13

You need to work out how many calories you can have in a day to lose 2lbs a week. For me including 3-4 work outs my daily allowance is 1374. You need to try and eat a lot of protein too. I lost 16lbs in 8 weeks and calorie counted everything and ensured I got my steps in too

theremustonlybeone · 18/06/2022 08:14

I wouldn’t weigh every few days. Stick with one day a week -
