I’m starting my Saxenda journey today! Anybody else on Saxenda with tips or success stories? I have about 10 stone to loose so a long way to go.

I'm going to drop back to .6 tomorrow and increase gradually from there. See if that helps because currently this feels not worth it 😟

Really good to hear everyone's positive stories

@isntitapip hopefully the gradual increase will help with the symptoms.

Day 18 for me today I'm on 1.2 plus 2 clicks and it's still going really well. I'm down 9lbs which I'm pleased with.

I go on holiday at the beginning of August and I want to take it with me. If I pack the needles in the suitcase and put the pens in a clear plastic bag through security do you think they will let them through?

That's great @empireemmy!

I'm really struggling with the higher dose. I'm on 1.2 but keep having to drop down, I'm having flu like symptoms, bad headaches and I'm so tired. Anyone else the same?

I feel very fatigued today. On 1.2, just taken 5th dose. Yesterday I was fine though!
I am having a hungrier day today too. I am reluctant to drop or increase the dose, just planning to ride it out

Thank you for the advice. Mines through the London slimming clinic which might not look very credible Blush maybe I should swap to boots that would probably hold a bit more weight.
Or just chance it without a letter....

I know how much damage I can do in two weeks abroad so I'm really reluctant to undo all my good work!!

Another option is to put it my case I suppose would it be so bad if it did freeze? Would it not just defrost again? Or maybe that's a stupid idea?!

Akite · 30/06/2022 19:48

I got mine through London slimming clinic too - as long as it's prescribed, it shouldn't matter I don't think? I'm going on holiday next week but have already decided not to take it, I don't think I'd be able to keep it cool enough. What will be will be!

I'm pleased to have found this thread. I just ordered mine from Boots yesterday and I got the message that it was approved today. Will probably start Sunday due to a crazy couple of days ahead.

I'm about 3 stone overweight and work with food Confused.

troppibambini6 · 30/06/2022 22:00

Thanks empire Smile

troppibambini6 · 30/06/2022 22:01

Yes you're probably right @Akite I think I'm just overthinking things!

Madferitchick · 01/07/2022 18:11

Hi, I’ve just done my first injection! Been pointed in the direction of this board by @takemetomars who is a good friend of mine 😊
feeling nervous but hopeful/excited!
I want to intially lose the 1.5 stones I’ve gained during the pandemic and then see from there 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Well done for taking the plunge my friend. We can use each other for support but this site is also a good place for support. Lovely bunch of people (on this board anyway, beware 'aibu'

I have done 1.2 plus 5 clicks as today's dose. I have had 3 hungry days in a row now so time to up the ante. I said I wouldn't do the extra click thing but I am keen not to go to 3 pens every month due to cost. I will report on progress

pokerdone · 01/07/2022 21:34

Is there anymore top tips before I start on Sunday?

Thank you @empireemmy that's already helpful Smile

Indoctro · 02/07/2022 08:15

I'm Following it as prescribed because I read if you complete a 3 month course at full dose as prescribed, when you stop taking it , the hormone in your body that's been lacking should of been kick started and you won't put the weight back on.

That's my real issue , is not reverting to my previous habits of over eating, so I want to make sure I do everything I can to try and make sure that doesn't happen

I'm day 8 and 2nd day on 1.2 and no side effects still and another lb off today that's 6 in 8 days . I'm really pleased but I do know a lot of it will be water rather than true weight loss.

I'm hoping one full 16 week course will be enough for me.

takemetomars · 02/07/2022 18:26

Ok, so I feel awful today. Shattered, can't eat, nausea and cold sweats. I have tested for covid because of the extreme fatigue and cold sweats which happened last time I had covid. The complete lack of appetite and being unable to eat is more likely to be the 1.2 plus 5 clicks. I have dropped back to 1.2 plus 2 clicks this evening so I will see how that goes.
Has anyone else had cold sweats with higher doses?

EEKE · 03/07/2022 10:03

This is my first ever post on mums net / social media but just felt I needed some moral support, so hope this is ok to join the chat (even though I'm a bit late to the party!). I am nervous as hell about starting Saxenda but also very excited. I am currently 18 stone and nearly 50. Would absolutely lovely to be 11 ½ stone one day! I have been overweight for 30 yrs so don't expect this to be a quick fix I am self funding - gonna start today! Very excited, thanks for all your tips. Best of luck to everyone, love to hear the positive stories and ideas
