I’m starting my Saxenda journey today! Anybody else on Saxenda with tips or success stories? I have about 10 stone to loose so a long way to go.

I'm on 1.8mg now and it took two days at that dose before I noticed any effects at all! I'm supposed to go up a dose today I think but I will stick on 1.8 while it's working well.

takemetomars · 25/06/2022 23:33

@Akite - it may be different for me because I have a gastric sleeve. I am really surprised that I have had any effect at all at the lowest dose

2.5 kg down and 3 weeks in now. That's just over 2.5% body weight so should have no problems getting to the 5% loss in 16 weeks (is it 16 or 12?) that you need to see if it's working for you.

Chattycatty · 26/06/2022 11:35

Hi all I've not been posting but still here. I've lost 10lbs in just over 3 weeks but have had the weekends off. One more weekend off planned then I'm going for continuous use. I'm at 0.6 + 5 clicks now finding that works well. I really hope this is it for me.

EmmaSussex · 26/06/2022 12:54

Hello, is it ok if I joined you?

I started on Saxenda yesterday, my weight has crept up over the last few years and haven’t managed to successfully lose much weight or keep it off! Really hoping this works and motivates me to keep going…
Currently 14st 2lbs, hoping to get to something starting with a 10

EmmaSussex · 26/06/2022 13:00

@Chattycatty 10lbs in 3 weeks is amazing, congratulations, I’d be delighted with a similar loss!

2 days at 1.2. No discernible difference yet although I have had a bit of a strange weekend so.....
I'll see how I feel today at work and report back

isntitapip · 28/06/2022 07:33

I've been in it 2.5 weeks now. 7lbs down, alternating between .6 and 1.2 dose as I'm struggling to tolerate it at the higher dose. I've had time off for events, I've been busy and drinking more than usual so I'm pleased with the result tbh.
It makes me tired, which I find hard work. Also find the opposite, concentration isn't great, so from today I've decided to take it in the evenings.
I also get bad headaches from it. But the lack of appetite is incredible. Makes me realise what I was battling before.

Akite · 28/06/2022 08:57

I'm extremely tired too but I have a chronic illness which makes me prone to fatigue so it's hard to tell if it's that or the saxenda. Had a day off it yesterday, can't deal with the constant constipation!
i had a look at the 5% thing, it's in the patient information leaflet. If you haven't lost 5% of your starting body weight by 12 weeks on the highest dose (so 16 weeks overall if you up the doses according to the schedule), you should stop using it because it won't work for you.

Akite · 28/06/2022 09:50

Meant to add, I had one of those days yesterday where I just wanted to eat EVERYTHING. I bought myself a curry ready meal and a blueberry muffin to stuff myself. Couldn't bring myself to even cook it in the end, it's still in the fridge. And the muffin is still in its bag.

takemetomars · 28/06/2022 18:30

I am 4 pounds down in the first week. Very pleased.
End of my second day at 1.2, no side effects and the lack of appetite is like a god damn miracle!!
Agree with @isntitapip, it just highlights how miserable life is when you are fat and hungry!! This is fab for me so far. I really hope this lasts!!

takemetomars · 28/06/2022 18:32

@Akite - re the 'clicks' has anyone worked out how the dose changes with each extra click?

I'd assume 0.06mg per click too. The click is presumably one notch ratcheting up the spring to then push down the plunger. Very clever devices, I wish they were available for injecting b12 which is the other thing I have to inject regularly.

I had a day off injecting yesterday, I'm finding the constipation difficult to deal with. Has anyone had this and it improved after a while?

takemetomars · 29/06/2022 12:44

Thanks guys that's useful to know!
I have now completely lost my appetite and interest in food. I have also lost my sense of taste! I will be sticking at 1.2 mg until things change. This is honestly like a miracle for me.
I don't think I will use the click thing. I am a health care professional so a bit of a stickler for not messing with meds!
Not too constipated yet. Not sure what the answer is to that one other than laxatives. I do feel a little flat mood wise, anyone else had that?

Good to hear that it seems to be working for everyone, I had a day off yesterday as had been feeling quite sick. injected into my thigh this morning and feel much better, thank you for the tip! Definitely eating less than usual so hopeful for a loss during my first week

That's great @empireemmy!

I'm really struggling with the higher dose. I'm on 1.2 but keep having to drop down, I'm having flu like symptoms, bad headaches and I'm so tired. Anyone else the same?
