I’m starting my Saxenda journey today! Anybody else on Saxenda with tips or success stories? I have about 10 stone to loose so a long way to go.

@bibippityboppity87 thanks for that. I did wonder... Might well start again at 0.6 tonight... On day off it and I'm managing to get a few old habits in already 😩 still not feeling right tho so that puts me off.

Moderatelyobese · 15/09/2022 08:08

I’m dithering over whether to continue. On the one hand, it’s definitely helping with weight loss - over a stone off so far. On the other, I feel grim all the time. I’m on 1.8 at the moment but skipped a day yesterday for logistical reasons, and it was so lovely not to feel queasy and indigestion-y.

Stickykidney · 15/09/2022 09:31

@MModeratelyobese I get you. I had last night off too. Planning to start again at 0.6 tonight but half of me is wondering if it just makes you feel so unwell you forget about food?!

Moderatelyobese · 15/09/2022 10:06

That’s definitely how it seems to work with me!

What dose were you on before, @Stickykidney ?

Stickykidney · 15/09/2022 10:17

@Moderatelyobese I was only up to 1.2 but it was working. I felt more nausea on the 0.6 tbh. it was working too. What dose did you feel better on?

Stickykidney · 15/09/2022 10:18

Still find it amazing how a tiny wee speck of medication can affect us so much

Moderatelyobese · 15/09/2022 12:29

And so quickly!

TBH, I’ve felt queasy at every dosage. I increased the dosage whenever I felt myself starting to get hungrier.

Stickykidney · 15/09/2022 13:39

Ok I'll start again tonight on 0.6... two days off it and I'm managing to full on binge again. Think this will be harder to keep off once I stop than I first thought. Thoughts are back to constant food!!!

bippityboppity87 · 16/09/2022 09:37

I only felt sick at the beginning of treatment, but now I feel fine. A bit more tired than usual, but I'm always tired, so no surprises there!

I seem to have stalled, which is a bit annoying. I'm hoping it will sort itself out, but I ate slightly more yesterday than I usually would. I have no idea what is too much food territory or not enough as my body is weird sometimes. Sometimes I'll eat very little and lose 2lbs, other times put on 2lbs! It's very infuriating

Can anyone tell me if this was "ok" food wise yesterday?

Didn't have breakfast

Lunch:Prawn sandwich on whole meal bread

Dinner:Couple chicken slices, peas, carrots and mash (was about a small palm size so a couple of tablespoons mash wise)

Snack: A packet of Belvita biscuits

Probably on the carb heavy side I suppose

Haven't weighed myself today

Moderatelyobese · 17/09/2022 16:19

After three days off, I’ve restarted today on 1.2 (was feeling grim on 1.8). I’ve eaten loads, and I’m going out for dinner later. I’ve a feeling there’s going to be a terrible reckoning…

Stickykidney · 19/09/2022 16:18

@bbippityboppity87 that seems fine to me, I would still be hungry on that. Trying to low calorie too and I'm back on 0.6 constantly thinking about food again!

Stickykidney · 19/09/2022 16:20

@ModerModeratelyobese I think that's it... Just feeling grim is no good. My few days I had off it cos I was I'll have done for my will power. I'm back to life is too short get the takeaway, it's the weekend treat yourself... And so on ... See how you get on eating out and the 'morning after'
Despite all this second pen is ordered...

Stickykidney · 19/09/2022 16:20

@Moderatelyobese oh sorry! Just saw this was Saturday. How were you Sunday morning?

Moderatelyobese · 19/09/2022 17:52

Horrific indigestion on Saturday night, after a very modest vegetarian Indian meal. And then quease city yesterday. I’ve more or less decided that it’s just not worth it. Which is a real shame, as the appetite suppressant side of things was really working.

ZestyDragon · 19/09/2022 20:14

I am now at 14lbs down at 6 weeks. This included a house move, having work done and a weekend away so I am happy enough and hope to get another stone off by the end of November.

I am on 1.8 and I have no side effects like you guys are listing apart from constipation - the opposite of a lot of you! I actually have started using ducolax twice a week and it is the only time I go to the bathroom. It is not good.

KrankySchwester · 20/09/2022 10:20

I am so cross with myself. By last Thursday I had lost 2 stone and was the lightest I had been for 5 years. Friday was my birthday and I decided not to inject and eat what I fancied. I gained 7lb!!! In one bloody day!!
I’ve lost 2lb of it since but still. It’s just not fair.

@ZestyDragon constipation here too. I’m trying Fybogel to see if that helps

Stickykidney · 21/09/2022 10:03

Aha the regret of food... Not worth it is sad. Is this what a gastric band is like?
I had a fish supper last night... Could only eat half but I am able for food much more this time than last time. Food hangover today but no nausea or heartburn is a bonus.
There is def a 'lag' in my digestive system but I think the slow emptying is what we are paying for .... To be all bagged up.
At this stage if I was to stop I know it wouldn't take much to put all the weight back on.
Non weight achievements... Fitted a 'new' pair of jeans I have never fitted, and my mother when I saw her yesterday said I was losing weight! Rare!

bippityboppity87 · 22/09/2022 09:41

Right this is getting a bit silly now and I don't know what's going on, but it's starting to annoy me. For the past month I've been hovering around the same weight (bar a couple of pounds)

Yesterday I weighed myself and I was 18st 2lbs. Thought finally! Getting somewhere! Went on the scales this morning and back up to 18st 5lbs. How?! Angry

Is this happening to anyone else and is this normal? As honestly, it's really getting on my nerves now

SedentaryCat · 22/09/2022 12:37

I've lost 9lbs so far and no more. Been a stable weight now for the last week. Sometimes it goes up then comes back down. Have tried 1.8 dose but it makes me feel really unwell, so 1.2 it is.

Perhaps when the Fybogel kicks in there'll be a huge loss!!

LadyOfTheCanyon · 22/09/2022 13:12

I've been hovering at my stone and a half loss total for a week or so, but to be fair I've had a week of weddings, family dinners, drinks and meals out, so I'm not expecting any loss until I rein myself back in again.

I am also ridiculously constipated as a result.

However, although my weight is maintaining my body is still changing shape, my tummy is verrrrry slowly getting smaller.

I'm still on 0.6 ( forgot to take my dose at all yesterday- oops!) but I really need a good week of eating sensibly again to get back in the saddle and start losing again.

bippityboppity87 · 22/09/2022 14:03

I'm on I think 2.4? I can't remember now. Went up a dose this week and I'm feeling sick as a dog 😩 and I can't stop burping. Think I'm going to throw up, then let out these huge burps instead. It's not pleasant 🤢 Not sure if it connected. But I'm not feeling great

Haven't eaten yet today because of the nausea. I think I might go back down a dose and see if it was that, as I was fine before

And I can't eat more than a few mouthfuls before feeling uncomfortably full, it's horrible sometimes

AgathaMystery · 23/09/2022 15:36

@LadyOfTheCanyon same here. Hovering at the same weight or within 3lb of it for weeks now. I know I need to exercise but I’ve been ill on and off since starting saxenda. Just cold/cough/sore throat etc but ended up ringing in sick today.

Cantonet · 24/09/2022 13:21

I've just switched to Ozempic.
I feel much better on it but hungrier.
This may be because I left a days gap between the 2 meds. Also the constipation has reverted in the opposite direction. So all my healthy beany meals now have drastic side effects! Apparently as I've been on the highest dose of Saxenda I'm best going on the 0.5 mg dose of the Ozempic.
I did lose weight this morning in spite of eating loads yesterday, as I felt starving.

Moderatelyobese · 24/09/2022 17:14

What side effects did you get on Saxenda that you’re not getting on Ozempic, @Cantonet. I haven’t taken Saxenda for several days now, as I was so fed up with feeling queasy all the time.

Cantonet · 24/09/2022 17:40

@Moderatelyobese i was reacting locally to the injection quite badly, especially in my tummy, so i didn't want to risk it any more. I did feel mildy ill & had no energy on Saxenda, but feel better on Ozempic. But the Ozempic is very obviously not causing delayed gastric emptying.
