I’m starting my Saxenda journey today! Anybody else on Saxenda with tips or success stories? I have about 10 stone to loose so a long way to go.

Just starting on this journey again. Thanks for the poster up thread re the 20% off at Boots, I have just used that deal and secured a good price for 3 pens to start me off. I have tried Saxenda in the past and had some quite good success, but like everything my resolve is short lived and I go back to my old ways! I did in the past find the tiredness and headaches a bit of a problem, but going to give it another try. I'm currently the biggest I've ever been and my appetite is out of control, I am constantly hungry no matter what I eat and can't go on like this, I am obsessed with food and the desire to eat! Currently sat at my desk and so far today (I've tried to make good choices) I've eaten 2 slices of toast with 2 poached eggs, 2 plums, 1 banana, I whole pot of crab pate with 4 rivetas and honestly I am ravenously hungry, I could eat a full meal on top!! Not normal! My lifestyle is quite sedentry as I'm sat at a desk all day. I know the Saxenda does work on reducing my appetite and on a previous attempt of using it I found it actually quite diffcult to eat much at all. Just struggled with the tiredness and headaches so after a while stopped taking it. I am hoping this time round the appetite will be reduced significantly and the side effects not too unbearable. I need to do something as I currently resemble a weeble 😂

@Moderatelyobese I'm the same. I'm not a huge chocolate eater anyway. Probably have a bar once a month or something. Never a thing I'd put in my shopping basket, but I really fancied one last night. Not massive, a 21.5g twirl probably still calorific but I was eating it and tasted..chalky Confused not nice at all. Regretted eating it as it just wasn't enjoyable

My weight loss has started to slow which is annoying. My scales keep hovering between 18st 7lbs and 18st 9lbs. I don't know which one it is! I'm going to go for the 18st 7lbs as that popped up first 😂 I have had a big coffee though before I weighed myself, so probably not fully accurate

So day 13 days in 9lbs down? I think?

Can anyone post a link to the Boots discount please? I can't find it. Tia!

@123sunshine thank you!

AgathaMystery · 03/09/2022 18:05

Just finished my 1st pen. It lasted 27 days. I am 5kg lighter.

bippityboppity87 · 03/09/2022 23:23

That's brilliant @AgathaMystery

I've just ordered my send pen. Two weeks in and I've lost just under a stone

Thanks so much for this thread! Am catching up! Day 5 and was treated the last three morning with massive vomits on waking! Taking travel sickness pills and Rennie's...
Yes to the constant thoughts going away ... I'm starting to wonder if this is what Normal people feel. All those threads on Mumsnet 'what did you eat today?' I used to be appalled at 'a sniff of salad sorts me reet oot!'😂 seem almost reasonable...
Very tired, headache, nausea and vomiting are not fantastic tho. Changed to thigh as per Mumsnet and hope that that helps....
Lovely to have a place to share and learn from each other

Melliejpizzle · 04/09/2022 22:57

Hi all, following this thread as on day 1!
Great discussion 😊

drinkallthecoffee · 05/09/2022 07:56

Welcome newbies! I hope your Saxenda journey is successful 🤞

I've hit a few goals today. Under 240lbs which was my first goal, but also got just slightly under 17st! I can't believe there's a 16 at the front of my weight now and I'll never ever see 17 ever again 😁. This also means I've lost over 1st since I started in June (1st 1.6lb in total).

According to my scales which are body composition scales, my BMI is now 39.5, so under 40!!! And my body fat percentage is 49.99% - less than half of me is fat! This has really motivated me to keep doing well, obviously something is working. My appetite has been so low on Saxenda, I'm only eating very small meals although I'm not always making the healthiest choices.

I'm so nervous when I weigh that it's going to go back up again but I'm going to the gym too and do weights as well as cardio so I'm aware that I could gain muscle, although my fancy scales would tell me if that was the case 😁

I need new goals!!!

Hope everyone else's weigh days go just as well for them! 🤞

NoMoreCoffeePlease · 05/09/2022 09:22

That's brilliant @drinkallthecoffee! So pleased for you 😊 Well done on staying motivated and going to the gym -- I'm still working on finding the energy to do the same!

LadyOfTheCanyon · 05/09/2022 11:46

Weighed in this morning and have lost another 1.5lb. Which brings me to a total of 1 stone 6lb off since 14th July.

Still on 0.6, but I'm noticing some hunger creeping back in in the afternoons, although a judiciously timed protein bar does wonders between lunch and tea.

Drinking 2 litres of water most days plus tea. Some constipation despite more water than I think I've ever drunk in my life!

A couple of people have noticed and commented that I've lost weight and that in itself is a real motivator!

Cantonet · 05/09/2022 11:58

I've lost 5.5 kg so far 5 weeks in. I'm on 2.4 now. I'm tired, headachey & generally have no energy at all. But the higher dose kick-started further weight loss. I'm hoping the side effects will wear off shortly.

AgathaMystery · 05/09/2022 13:04

Feeling a bit demotivated today. My loss has slowed and I know I need to exercise now. I HATE exercise!! Still, needs must.

I feel like this right now re exercise. I MUST go to the gym after work but... I don't wanna 😭

Melliejpizzle · 06/09/2022 13:36

Hi all,

I am on day 3! I can't quite work out if its working or its the want for it to work more so?
Also, i want to exercise but feel a little scared that i have started something new so should give it a while to settle first?

Any thoughts/tips?
TIA 😊

OrigamiOwls · 06/09/2022 19:23

I've just started, today is day one. I'm not feeling hungry, but boredom eating has always been my danger area.

NoMoreCoffeePlease · 07/09/2022 09:23

Good luck @OrigamiOwls and @Melliejpizzle 😊

Saxenda has helped me understand how much of my eating is habitual -- I crave the setting / relaxing rather than the actual food. Have also gone completely off alcohol, I can take it or leave it. To me that's pretty massive as I used to have a drink or two most evenings. Now I still might have a glass of wine very occasionally and enjoy the relaxing effect of it, but I don't miss it when I don't have any.

My weight loss is relatively slow -- about 4kg in 3.5 weeks, but I am feeling much better.

OrigamiOwls · 08/09/2022 14:14

Has anyone had trouble sleeping on saxendra?

SedentaryCat · 08/09/2022 15:28

OrigamiOwls · 08/09/2022 14:14

Has anyone had trouble sleeping on saxendra?

Yes. I haven't always managed to get enough sleep anyway but since I've started Saxenda I have a lot of trouble actually getting to sleep at night. It's been a month now.

Currently averaging 5 to 6 hours a night.

OrigamiOwls · 08/09/2022 17:02

This is only day 3 for me, my side effects are nausea, dry mouth and walking up in the night and struggling to get back to sleep. Hopefully these effects will settle down on the next few days!

Stickykidney · 08/09/2022 22:12

Day nine and doing better on it... Still a few Rennie's a day but the nausea is almost gone! Super tired and 'less arsed' if that makes sense.

bippityboppity87 · 09/09/2022 02:02

@Stickykidney hope the nausea wears off for you soon

Down another 1lb. So slowly getting there. I have a question though, does anyone else feel like their cognitive abilities have reduced significantly? Mine has. I have adhd so my memory isn't great as it is, but it's gotten so much worse. To the point where I'm having to rely on spellcheck with common words and forgetting what I was talking/thinking about mid sentence

stilldumdedumming · 09/09/2022 07:29

@bippityboppity87 yes!!! But it's better at the moment. So hopefully it's just a phase. My work has suffered though and honestly feel like I can't hold onto a thought in my head!
