My story so far:
I started a thread “Lockdown stones to lose” in early June last year. I had nearly 3 stones to lose and was very determined. At times I did very well and at one point had lost over 1.5 stones.

Loads of people joined and then left and I think only four of us remained at the end. I kept plodding on. Just after Christmas I became ill for seven weeks (Covid related). I couldn’t do much or go out so my weight ballooned. I still kept plodding on. Then one of my dogs suffered an horrendous attack and whilst nursing her I just about lived on chocolate.

So here I am nearly 11 months later, most likely very nearly back to square one. I keep reminding myself that last time I said I would not give up no matter what! Will you join me tomorrow morning? I would love some company.

@Mumstheword2022 have a lovely holiday and well done on the NSV. It's such a good feeling when something finally fits and it's not all about those pesky scales.

@Theredjellybean you are most definitely allowed to gain weight on holiday. There will be plenty of time to lose it again so have a lovely time, don't think about weight loss and you can sort it when you get back.

@poorpaws I am up for a June challenge. I need a kick start after a promising start I’ve slowed right down!

endlesswashing · 28/05/2022 09:16

1lb gain today!

June mini goal sounds great! I'll be hoping for a 5lb loss in June.

Amdone123 · 28/05/2022 10:15

Morning all ! I've dipped in and out of this thread. I don't know where I'm up to, weight wise, but I'm up for a June challenge. I've been exercising a lot. Zumba, walking and I've cut back on the drinking. A lot, so all in all quite good. I'm not keen on scales ( probably why I don't know what I weigh !).
I'm off on a walking holiday today so I'll be hitting 20,000 steps easily Sunday to Wed. If I eat healthily ( which I have no problem with ) and don't go mad with the wine, I should be on track.
Keep going everyone. It's not easy but you're trying, and that's all you can do.

ClinkeyMonkey · 28/05/2022 10:57

Oh I think I need a mini goal @poorpaws! Great idea. I'll weigh myself as usual on Monday and assess the damage first to see what's realistic.

BeyondMyWits · 28/05/2022 15:41

Hiya all,

I'm up for a June target... I know I've put on this week, just lost my oomph... again... Will weigh in Monday as usual.

I want, by the end of June, to weigh 15 stone something instead of 16 stone 2/3/4 (probably 3 at the moment)...

there, I've said it. Seeing that number at the start would be very motivating!
beyond will be down to 15st something by the end of June.
(she may also get off her butt and do some hoovering at some point today)

poorpaws · 29/05/2022 08:03

Good morning

I'm glad to see so many of you are up for a June challenge, I really need it now.

The pizza in the sunshine was a bit of a disaster. First of all there was no sunshine and it wasn't that warm so we had to come inside and then one person didn't turn up but didn't let me know. It all finished a bit early and was a bit of a non-event. It makes me feel so sad because I was looking forward to it and it was going to be lovely then it all turned to dust. Hey Ho there's always another day. I did manage to eat a tremendous amount of food although passed on the alcohol. I used alcohol calories to eat cake which I much prefer.

I think I'm aiming for a lazy day today but we'll see what happens. Have a lovely Sunday everyone and enjoy the sunshine if you've got any.

Good morning... we have a little sunshine, and a dog anxious for a morning walk... done now...

roast dinner today, MIL coming, she has dementia of varying types and has reached the mad as a box of frogs stage (humour is the only thing that gets us through it).

Last weekend when watching the eddie the eagle biopic she told us she didn't suppose she'd be able to do that ski jumping any more...( ANY MORE!!!). God we were almost peeing ourselves trying to hold back laughing.

Hey ho, makes for an interesting weekend...

ClinkeyMonkey · 29/05/2022 11:37

@BeyondMyWits That's hilarious about Eddie the Eagle! I totally get the humour when it comes to dementia. My mum has Alzheimer's and sometimes if I didn't laugh, I'd weep. When I tell her I've been for a run, she tells me how she used to love running up and down her living room because there was so much space since the wall was knocked down. She was already 84 when we got the two rooms knocked through for her!! I like to think that maybe she was running up and down and that I'm doing her a huge disservice by assuming she's having false memories!

BeyondMyWits · 29/05/2022 12:35

@ClinkeyMonkey... 😄

I've just been getting lunch ready, roast pork, so I've sliced mine really thinly so it looks like a decent amount, but is less than a chop's worth. We bought a new knife set a month ago, sooooo sharp it is easy to slice thinly. 3 piles of veg and a spoon of mash for me... with granule gravy.

No sticky toffee pudding distractions this week. They are having warm cookies, I am having warm cookIE (singular! Determined not to sabotage myself today.)

Bought new bathroom scales too. They read exactly the same as my old ones, so that "hope" evaporated 😁

TellMeAboutItStud · 29/05/2022 17:21

Hi all - hope everyone has had a good weekend!

ive been pretty floored by covid - mild symptoms generally but oh my god the fatigue is crazy. Have barely even had the energy to eat. Finally got out of bed today and stepped on the scales and I’ve lost another 5lbs - I’m sure a lot of that is water weight and wouldnt really recommend the covid diet which has basically consisted of water, herbal tea and blueberries. So trying to force myself to eat a bit more now so it’s not unhealthy weight loss going forward.

start weight: 79.7kg
current weight: 68.5kg
target weight: 62kg

triplecheeese · 29/05/2022 20:14

Glad you are on the mend @TellMeAboutItStud. The kids and I had Covid at the end of March and we all had completely different symptoms from each other, it's so weird. I hope your strength comes back soon.

Yes please to a June goal @poorpaws,
great motivating idea. I am going to say 10st 7lbs at the end of June as I will need to buy a new cossie for a holiday - my current threadbare number might get me arrested round the kids pool. 1lb a week will require a kick in the bum!

I actually wrote a big long post and lost it! But it probably saved you all a slog as it was quite whiny. Feeling a bit low this weekend and my mother's helpful comments over lunch "I was a lot older than you when I gained weight/slimmer than you after I had children" just got to me in a way that it shouldn't. I really don't want to rise to that sort of nonsense.

Not done too badly, cooked instead of takeaways, puffed my way round parkrun yesterday and sorted the junk cupboard today. The baby's in bed so I'm off to not drink a wine. KBO pals xx

Bigbus · 29/05/2022 23:56

Hi all

id like to set my June goal to get to 13st 7lbs (currently 13st 12lbs).

Im sort of coasting along not gaining or losing but I really want to sort this out.

I hope you all had good bits of the weekend.

Readytostartagain · 30/05/2022 06:29

Hi my mini goal is 4 lb to get into the next half stone bracket. Going away for last week if the month so 4lb in 3 and a half weeks. If I stick at it it should be doable but at the moment I’m gaining and losing the same couple of lbs

Amdone123 · 30/05/2022 07:51

@Readytostartagain , that's doable. I'm similar, lose and gain the same pounds ! I braved the scales yesterday. I was quite pleased that I hadn't put on, but I only lose if I totally dedicate myself. I can immerse self into it, but it's the same old life getting in the way.
I have no social outings now til end of June, so I should be OK.

poorpaws · 30/05/2022 07:55

Hi everyone

It looks like I've lost a grand total of half a pound this week ☹️ I was doing so well until we went out for the day on Friday, had the pizza "do" on Saturday and I had a "bugger it" Sunday. But I'll take half a pound because at least it's a loss.

It looks like most of us would like to lose 5 lbs in June. My target is 5 1/2 pounds which would make me 10 stone 12. This is doable if I don't go out much, I can stick to it at home but I'm not so good out. So I'm going to say it out loud (and write it down so I don't forget), by the end of June I want to be 10 stone 12 lbs.

Happy results for those of you weighing in today and keep your June targets coming so that we all know what we're doing.

Have a good Monday everyone.

Morning all.

@TellMeAboutItStud sorry you've had Covid. Such a weird illness in the way it gets everyone so differently and in such random ways. Hope your energy levels will be up soon.

OK, after the usual weekend blowout somehow, by some miracle, I'm still at the same weight as last week - 11st 7lb. I'm going to aim for 11st 3lb by end of June, so 4lbs. I just need to focus and get on with it. The bank holiday extended weekend won't help😬 but I really really want to try.

Catching up with that there wagon folks!

BeyondMyWits · 30/05/2022 10:49

Morning all, weighed in at 16st2.5lb, so put on a pound and a half. Was expected, but still a bit meh....

So 3lb to get to 15 something. Doesn't sound a lot, I like little goals, thank you.

TellMeAboutItStud · 30/05/2022 10:59

Thank you everyone - definitely feeling better today so hoping I’ve seen the back of it now! Scales are up 1.5lbs today which I expected so just going to give it a couple of weeks to get back to my normal routine/diet before getting too judgey about the numbers 😂

Theredjellybean · 30/05/2022 14:15

I'm back from four day break the food was not a problem but the alcohol😶
I'm in our London flat with no scales.. So won't know damage until wed morning..
I did do my weights training sessions every day.. Hoping it won't be more than 1.5kg.
My June goal is to get to 70 kgs

BeyondMyWits · 31/05/2022 15:59

Hiya all... just in from work and it is so cold and wet here!

Almost inhaled my lunch and now have had to put the digestive biscuits away in the cupboard!! I don't really like them, which is why I bought them for DH and the "kids", but my, they grow on you when you are bored and don't want sweet or savoury, just want something solid....

Quiet here today.

@poorpaws 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Mumstheword2022 · 31/05/2022 17:15

Hahaha! That’s mint @poorpaws

still away . Very hot in this Spanish city. 🥵 getting loads of walking done and now having a lay down with a book before booze and tapas evening.

i cannot lie. I’m just going to have to do it and worry about the weight when I get back! Did have a goats cheese salad at lunch but as I normally don’t eat a proper lunch it’s another fail!

Already think the cargo trousers I wore to travel here will be too tight for the return journey.

bit personal this next bit but I also pretty much never manage to go to the loo ( a number 2 I mean! 😜) on hols so that doesn’t help.

sorry if that’s too much information 😂
