My story so far:
I started a thread “Lockdown stones to lose” in early June last year. I had nearly 3 stones to lose and was very determined. At times I did very well and at one point had lost over 1.5 stones.

Loads of people joined and then left and I think only four of us remained at the end. I kept plodding on. Just after Christmas I became ill for seven weeks (Covid related). I couldn’t do much or go out so my weight ballooned. I still kept plodding on. Then one of my dogs suffered an horrendous attack and whilst nursing her I just about lived on chocolate.

So here I am nearly 11 months later, most likely very nearly back to square one. I keep reminding myself that last time I said I would not give up no matter what! Will you join me tomorrow morning? I would love some company.

Yep it's the wagon and I'm driving it, all aboard!

OP posts:
BeyondMyWits · 23/05/2022 08:36

I'm there... so long as you drive slowly, then those of us that fall off can climb back up easily (I say easily... with my knees, I'd need a hoist)

ClinkeyMonkey · 23/05/2022 08:39

Morning @poorpaws, good to see you! I'm right at the back of that wagon, flinging out chocolate and biscuits and hiding the wine!

Weighed myself this morning and no change, which frankly is a win after the weekend of indulgence I just had. I was having such a great week, but Saturdays in particular are my undoing. Oh well, onwards and ... downwards?!!

I did manage a jog at 6.30 this morning. I seem to have developed a bit of anxiety and self consciousness around being seen while running. I was ok about it up until around the time I had Covid. I don't suppose a menopausal woman puffing along in giant headphones attracts THAT much attention. Dunno though ... !!

endlesswashing · 23/05/2022 09:18

Save a space for me!

Hope everyone has a good day 🙂

I'm gripping on to the back of the wagon by my fingernails, whilst being pursued by Indians throwing chocolate biscuits at me.

Another week of net zero.

Theredjellybean · 23/05/2022 11:08

Now come on all.... That wagon is pacing us all as we jog along beside it... Big headphones, ear buds, no headphones even 80's style sweatbands... All accessories accepted.
We are chucking in some star jumps and doing a mooney squat at those Indians...
We are confident and calm and we've got this..

Weight today 72.5...yeh....

Readytostartagain · 23/05/2022 11:24

I’m in no change here but that’s probably a win tbh. Going away in 4 weeks and want to be at least 5lb lighter! Mind you it’s twenty past eleven and I’m counting the minutes until lunchtime 😃

BeyondMyWits · 23/05/2022 11:40

No change here either.. 16st1lb....not surprised as we went away and ate out everywhere... though I do feel I made some better choices than I used to. Must have, or I would have put on a few pounds.

CanadianJohn · 23/05/2022 15:47

I had a super stressful week, not only did I forget - literally forgot - to log my food for three consecutive days, I even forgot to do my eye drops.

Among other things, my car, parked on the street, was side-swiped by a construction truck. The construction company says it will pay for the repairs, but I've been negotiating/arguing, getting an appraisal, etc.

My back continues to plague me, I can only walk about half a block.

Apr 18 ... 12.10 (178 lbs)
Apr 25 ... 12.9 (177 lbs)
May 2 ... 12.9 (177 lbs)
May 9 ... 12.9½ (177½ lbs)
May 16 ...12.9 (177 lbs)
May 23 ...12.9 (177 lbs)
**
At least I didn't gain any weight!

Mumstheword2022 · 23/05/2022 16:16

Loving that wagon!

save me a seat 👍

did ok today - home for a cuppa and then waking to the gym . It’s 27mins if I walk very quickly! Kettlebells when I get there. Feel like dipping out but can’t now I’ve told you lot!

instead having a little peanut butter with my cuppa - seven when I get home and too late for me if I have nothing

all food logged so far and it looks fine . Will weight tomorrow . I promise

poorpaws · 23/05/2022 19:41

Glad you all seem to love the wagon 😀 I'll pick up any waifs and strays on the way and drive very carefully so you don't fall off.

Had a very good day, such a faff weighing food though. Step count was very good too. Looking for better results for all of us next week.

triplecheeese · 23/05/2022 19:58

Ooo this wagon chat is inspiring!

I'm sorry about your car @CanadianJohn, so much stress you don't need! I've had a stressful week month time of it recently too and it's led to my current "what's the point" fug. I can't do my usual workouts this week because of various hospital appointments and house renovation issues, so I just thought ah forget it. Then I remembered someone (on here?) said that when you're finding something overwhelming, just change one thing at a time. So I'm "just" going to not snack after the kids are in bed, and then change one more thing, etc etc until i catch up with you all on the wagon!

Diet twin @poorpaws good luck with the logging and the new energy!

Bigbus · 23/05/2022 23:10

I’m on the wagon for sure after a particularly soggy weekend. My wagon is ambling along a very long plateau at the moment but at least it’s not going up hill. The 13 is just about still there but I could do with a loss this week so I don’t jump off the wagon head first into a vat of red wine, hummus and kettle chips!

poorpaws · 24/05/2022 07:56

Good morning everyone

I hope you are all doing well. It's a difficult job we've all got to do but when we get to our final goal it will be amazing.

I was up very early and washed my hair, saves me doing it tonight when I can be out with the dogs getting more steps. It's lovely and sunshiny here today and it just makes me feel so positive.

Obviously nothing to report because I'm waffling but I just wanted to come on here to give support so that we can all beat the bulge.

Have a lovely day everyone.

OP posts:
Theredjellybean · 24/05/2022 08:12

I have hit 72.1kg today
Go on holibobs tomorrow so think I'll hit my mini goal of 72kg.
It's been tough love.. And I so did not want to do my weights training today... But I did...
Must not go mad while away... I'll gain it all back...
I'm on the wagon... No jogging todat
Have a good day all

poorpaws · 24/05/2022 13:57

I got soaked to the skin on the dog walk. When the heavens opened we were in the middle of a huge field with no shelter ☹️. We were out nearly three hours and because it was sunny first thing I had a thin skirt and open sandals on. You'd think I'd learn after so many years. I'm worn out with it all now and going to sit down instead of housework. I needed to come here for a moan, I've been so cold and wet.

Hope everyone is having a much better day.

Mumstheword2022 · 24/05/2022 19:43

Well done @poorpaws ! I was at work all day - and indoors-but we had three seasons in one day: sunshine, hailstones and heavy rain!

weighed in at 11.11 1/2 thins morning so have been officially everything from 11.10 to 12 stone 4 in about four weeks!

so difficult 😞 so keep motivated when I can see no rhyme or reason for the gains .

thinking quietly to myself (and now on here!) that it might be the menopause, bp tablets, my age …

anything but the food basically but I am making excuses

busy day at school prepping year elevens for exam tomorrow with after school classes, dealing with issues and being told to ‘fuck off ‘ for the first time in about ten years!

poir kid really embarrass himself. My class were very judgmental and thought he made himself look like a Wally! 😂

legs ache from kettlebells- love that feeling- -I’ve also done 12k in steps

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 24/05/2022 22:59

@Bigbus I haven't quite finished the Lisa Riley book but I've also lined up my Two Chubby Cubs diet planner to read again afterwards! I'm also watching Secret Eaters but haven't seen Special K man yet Grin although I am in awe of Anna's lovely shiny hair!

@Mumstheword2022 your post reminded me of why I didn't want to go into teaching/ TA work... I hope the kids have been better today!

What a pain about your car @CanadianJohn, hope you manage to get it sorted soon and without too much hassle.

I've definitely had a 'what's the point' fug this week @triplecheeese, urgh, everything has been too much for me. AF week, the DC being bloody horrible and we're supposed to be going on holiday soon, I just don't want to go. Can't see the point in doing the same stuff - looking after DC and being responsible for all organising/ tidying/ clearing up - but in a different location; more time for DP to sit on his phone and ignore us all, joy Hmm

We got caught in the rain today too @poorpaws! Such a strange day here, glorious sunshine followed by pouring rain, and repeat for 10 hours. Great idea about the wagon by the way Smile I will definitely be back on it when back from holiday if I can be arsed to go but hope everyone does well on there in the meantime!

Great idea about jogging alongside in our full on exercise gear @Theredjellybean - reminded me that I'd love to try Clubbercise one day Glitterball

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 24/05/2022 23:11

Bit of a nightmare weekend here - DP's laziness almost caused disaster, one cat has an indoor litter tray at the moment, he was clearing it out and decided (in his infinite wisdom) to put the absorbent kitty litter down the toilet... and blocked it Confused we had water all over the floor in the downstairs loo, literally an inch or so of water, and it flooded into the living room as well. We've had to move everything, clean, clean the carpet properly etc etc etc... and it still smells Sad the drain has been properly rodded so it seems clear now, but all this hassle just because he was too lazy to walk to the bin...

DTS1 has had another couple of meltdowns, between him and DTS2 just being generally rude and ungrateful I was ready to walk out yesterday. I've been looking at local parenting courses as I found them really helpful in the past, but there's none running this term, annoyingly. DP would be happy to stick them on screens 24/7 if he could but I just want more for us all! If anyone has ideas of more sporting activities I could do with two 6 year olds, that would be very helpful Smile

My fridge is tidy and sorted, I have lots of diet resources to use - just no time to get started really! Oh - and still no trainers, haven't dared to ask DM!!

Bigbus · 24/05/2022 23:12

@ClaraTheImpossibleGirl special K man is called Murray and it turns out his healthy breakfast was actually 2,500 calories and on one day he ate over 8,000!

I hope everyone is doing ok. I think I’ve made a break through. Lost 1lb this morning so I’m down to 13st 12lbs.

SW 14st 8lbs
CW 13st 12lbs
GW 12st

Theredjellybean · 24/05/2022 23:18

@Bigbus
Wow fantastic weight loss.
I've been out for dinner.. Glass of champagne then two glasses of red wine.. But tapas style dinner, very small servings of very pretty but insubstantial food.
Probably good for diet...

poorpaws · 25/05/2022 08:10

Good morning all

I hope you're all okay on this miserable morning.

What channel is secret eaters on please? I used to love this programme but I haven't seen it for years. I hardly ever watch television these days because I find it really boring and monotonous but Id turn it on for secret eaters.

@ClaraTheImpossibleGirl i'm so sorry you've had such a disaster, no doubt your DP is in the doghouse . I remember you went away last year and didn't enjoy it, I remember you saying that your partner didn't join in or do anything and you had a sad time. Are you holidaying in this country?

My granddaughter does gymnastics, is that an option? She's absolutely addicted to it and it is quite expensive here but she's very fit and healthy and I suppose it's better than her sitting in front of the TV or being on her phone all the time. My grandson couldn't take to it, he didn't like it.

@Bigbus yay 1 lb off, very well done. I know it doesn't seem much when you're struggling but every pound off makes a stone eventually.

@Mumstheword2022 Getting older is no fun, it's twice as hard to lose the weight. Keep at it, you'll get there.

I met a friend yesterday who is very very down at the moment so in the afternoon I made some salted caramel cupcakes for her. I'm not going to give them to her because they aren't good enough. The batter was lovely but they're supposed to take 18 minutes in the oven and my oven is very temperamental and they took over 25 minutes and they didn't look nice.

I was told to buy an oven thermometer and that didn't help so I bought yet another one and both of them read different oven settings. Do I buy a third?, Get an average? I am so sick of this cooker and I've got so much expense on at the moment that I can't afford to replace it. It's maybe seven years old, so not ancient.

It's dry but very windy outside but if we go out this morning I certainly won't be in a floaty skirt and open toed sandals like yesterday.

I hope you all have a good day today.

Morning all, I'm definitely in the wagon this morning as opposed to running alongside it in my big headphones! I was doing well at the kettlebells and decided to add in an extra set of each exercise. Bloody hellfire, I feel as if they're strapped to my ankles this morning. Not quite as sore as when I first started with one set a couple of weeks ago though, so progress being made. My eating has been so-so, but not terrible.

@ClaraTheImpossibleGirl oh no, that flooding incident must have been really stressful! Sadly it sounds like the sort of stupid thing I might do😬

@Bigbus You're doing really well. After seeing your loss, I'm going to try harder today.

I live with three very slim people. DP is in the same size of trousers he was when I met him over 30 years ago (possibly even the same trousers🤣). DS1 is 13, 5ft 10" already and built like a gazelle. DS2 is very slim, but a bit more robust and less lanky than the other two. And I feel like a sad, overgrown weeble beside them as they eat ALL the food!
