My story so far:
I started a thread “Lockdown stones to lose” in early June last year. I had nearly 3 stones to lose and was very determined. At times I did very well and at one point had lost over 1.5 stones.

Loads of people joined and then left and I think only four of us remained at the end. I kept plodding on. Just after Christmas I became ill for seven weeks (Covid related). I couldn’t do much or go out so my weight ballooned. I still kept plodding on. Then one of my dogs suffered an horrendous attack and whilst nursing her I just about lived on chocolate.

So here I am nearly 11 months later, most likely very nearly back to square one. I keep reminding myself that last time I said I would not give up no matter what! Will you join me tomorrow morning? I would love some company.

Hey!

went out last night and still in bed 😮

so had wine but walked 20000 steps yesterday because we did a six mile walk on the cliff tops puffin spotting.

have some work to do but also want to try and get out and do some gardening today.

haven’t weighed in yet BUT will because I have decided to do it everyday so I can more closely monitor myself.

have a super Sunday all!

Just weighed myself

1.5 lbs on 😜

will work on that. It’s taken back over 12 st- only by 1/2 pound but it’s a place I don’t want to be

good night though!

Theredjellybean · 08/05/2022 12:40

I've been following but not posted as despairing...
Dropped to 73kg, then had ONE dinner out (OK lots of wine but dinner was very fancy tiny portions no cheese course) and I went back to 74.6
Today 73.7
My boobs are up a cup size, one is bigger than other.. I have back rolls and muffin top
Bloody bloody menopause.
But I have downloaded a plan called 360burn with a three week reset plan.. Its mostly weights workout and should be OK on my back... So done two days... I have to do something positive as starving myself into weight loss just not sustained

Mumstheword2022 · 08/05/2022 15:06

Ooh @Theredjellybean i might Google that!

don’t despair- I feel like joining up on here is a fresh start and going up and down is to be expected.

extrapineappleonmypizza · 08/05/2022 15:19

Hi!
Still here but I've had a weekend off plan. Not hugely horrific but I've allowed myself to eat more treats.
I'll start again properly tomorrow. I've got a killer three weeks at work so it's going to be tough but I'll feel worse if in three weeks I've put on half a stone.

TellMeAboutItStud · 08/05/2022 15:40

I weighed myself again this morning to see if the stall in weight loss was just a blip but no such luck :( - going to have to add in some more exercise I think to continue losing weight.

in total I’ve lost 17 pounds, I’ve got 14 to go so still a fair way - I’m so annoyed!! Especially as I haven’t even cheated 😭

DrRamsesEmerson · 08/05/2022 16:33

I haven't posted for a couple of days as I'm failing. Had a good friend to stay, which was lovely but meant I did serious amounts of cooking and no exercise, and then she took me out for lunch before she left yesterday. Weighed in yesterday, no change from last week so I suppose it could be worse - but I'd hoped to get another couple of pounds off. Aiming for a very disciplined week ahead, but then DSis is visiting from 16th for a few days so all I can hope for then is maintenance.

BeyondMyWits · 08/05/2022 19:11

I just remember what my mum used to say... don't let it get you down, the light is always there at the end of the tunnel, there's just sometimes some bends in the way.

Bigbus · 08/05/2022 22:38

Being good is really boring! But I think I’m losing the snacking habit so that’s a good thing. Hoping to still see 13 on the scales tomorrow! I had to sit in a chair at the hairdresser yesterday for an hour while my 15yr old had her hair cut and honestly I look like a big saggy toad. It really is time for a change.

Eviebeans · 09/05/2022 05:28

Hi everyone hope you all had a good weekend. I have weighed this morning and the scales say 11:0 and 5/8. Which is down from when I first started so that's good, but I'm not entirely sure how as I thought I might even be more than when I first started. 😅 but I'm happy with that and has got me off to a good start to Monday morning. Good luck everyone.

Eviebeans · 09/05/2022 05:30

@Bigbus I laughed at your description but not too much as I know that there are days when that is exactly how I feel.

Welcome @FatGirlTriesAgain. Doesn't sound like you have no goal but a small goal and I'm finding that that's what is working best for me atm.
It might not be for you but when I'm at my heaviest I find that what works for me in terms of "moving more" is stretching - sometimes to music - which also doubles as entertainment for the grandchildren.
Have a good Monday and keep posting even when it's bad.

Bigbus · 09/05/2022 06:57

@FatGirlTriesAgain2022 i pay for Mumsnet premium to avoid the adds but I get them on Facebook all the time! How far to walk to get rid of your tummy, dance the fat away and my favourite of all - control pants!!!

Every step is a step on the journey. It’s not a ‘fail’ it’s a step on the way. No change happens over night. Even joining a thread like this is a part of the process, even if there’s no weight loss at that time.

TimeToLose8 · 09/05/2022 06:59

Like @DrRamsesEmerson I have also had a guest, so 5 days of drinking, eating, cooking etc has taken its toll. But, this morning, my weighin wasn't as bad as I had feared. 1.2lbs gained.

Even though everything feels tighter, my clothes, rings etc, so I did feel I had gained more.

Still, back to normal from today. No more puds, and no wine until the weekend. More exercise as well would help. Back to knocking in fence posts, those poor hens are still waiting for their new home to be finished.

BeyondMyWits · 09/05/2022 07:42

Weighed in... lost a pound. Good for my knees!

Feeling bloated though, and had too much salt this weekend too (which I am not supposed to do), so I'm hoping there is more easy weightloss to come. I'm almost menopausal... my last bleed was July, so having to cope with all that at the moment. HRT and my heart condition do not mix, so the aches, emotion, flushes will have to continue... woo blinkin hooooo.

Hope everyone gets the result they deserve on weigh in!

poorpaws · 09/05/2022 07:57

Morning

@Mumstheword2022 that is an absolutely beautiful photograph.

@FatGirlTriesAgain2022 just keep trying, that's what I do and I fail quite a bit. If you don't give in at some point you will do better and lose some weight. It might not be just yet but it will happen. I always think if you don't do something, no matter how small it is, nothing will change. Tiny steps is a good start and stay with us, no shaming here just support.

After a gain last week I really knuckled down to it this week and it's paid off. I've lost 4.75 lbs since last Monday but had gained before that so I've lost 1.5 lbs since the start of this thread (which doesn't sound quite as good). I'm really pleased and need to keep the positivity going. I'm now 11sts 0.5lbs so surely I can be in the 10st zone next week? I'll try.

Well done to all the losers, and staying the same isn't too bad it's ok. For the gainers, this was me last week (so depressing) but I've turned it around and so can you 🤞🏻

@poorpaws well done, nearly 5lb, what a win! It is so nice when you see effort is rewarded, and great when it follows a blip. Must be quite chuffed with that.

11st! I'd need to cut off a leg (or 2!)

poorpaws · 09/05/2022 08:17

Oh dear so sorry I got it wrong, just checked and I've lost 4.25lbs not 4.75 so I added half a pound, no idea how I managed that. In the interests of an honest thread I had to let you know my mistake. Maths is not my strong point 🥴 still good though and I'm still pleased.

@BeyondMyWits you made me laugh, you'll get there and I am short so every pound shows.

You're certainly heading in the right direction @poorpaws and that's the important thing. You sound as though your head's in the right place at the moment which is brilliant!

I, unfortunately, have put on a pound and am now officially heavier than I even was during my two pregnancies. I have to admit that, while losing weight was on my mind this past week, I wasn't really trying and by the end of the week it all went to pot. I'm determined to try extra hard this week to get back to where I started.

Well done to all those who lost or maintained. To all the gainers, I'm with ya. We can do this,,,

gonelululemoncrazy · 09/05/2022 08:58

Morning all. Well weighed myself this morning and no change - so taking that as a win. Going to try an up the exercise this week - beating the sugar habit is still proving tricky!

H1Drangea · 09/05/2022 12:11

Weighed in this morning , the same as last week
I’m taking that as a win though, as after my tummy upset I had a tiny appetite for a few days which I liked … But then it all changed as I wheeled the trolley round Tesco and realised I was thinking along the lines of what can I eat next 😩

Had friends round on Saturday , so ate and drank too much , and felt a bit lethargic yesterday also didn’t really do much
lots of lovely cheese left over from the cheeseboard , thinking of low carbing for a few days , then we have DD here for the weekend so more food !
Its so tricky ,
Keep going everyone , slow but steady is the best weight loss and keep dunking the water 💦
@poorpaws my goal is to be below 11st , 10st 13 will suit me fine

TellMeAboutItStud · 09/05/2022 14:03

Hello everyone, well done to all the losers 👍🏻!

I hopped on the scales again this morning just to see if there was any change - still none! But no weight on which is a win I suppose. Also, did some baking over the weekend with my kids and managed to resist the temptation - 62 days without sugary treats (I’m not counting wine) and counting.

I’ve got a busy week coming up so planning to stick to the healthy eating and get in as much activity as possible and hope the stress doesn’t win!

CanadianJohn · 09/05/2022 14:09

Apr 18 ... 12.10 (178 lbs)
Apr 25 ... 12.9 (177 lbs)
May 2 ... 12.9 (177 lbs)
May 9 ... 12.9.5 (177.5 lbs)
Goal: 10.10 (150 lbs)

Sigh... gained a half pound in 2 weeks... so much for losing.
