Well done @spiced. I weighed this morning and have lost nearly 3lbs! (2.8 on my scales and 1 of those I'd put on after Easter) So pleased as had a glass of wine and chocolate at the weekend and wasnt sure how good I'd been otherwise. Been better with my portion sizes maybe.

Now often I would think I deserve a treat for this but I know that's counter productive. Feeling motivated to stick to it. Missed the my gym class yesterday as had pick up an unwell child from school so will try doing a catch up workout myself at home today

X

Hi everyone
I haven't posted for a while but I well and truly fell off the fitness wagon. I hurt my back and knee meaning I was unable to exercise at all and I got in a bad mentality and thought 'stuff it' and ended up eating waaayyyyyy too much chocolate and some takeaways over Easter. Anyway my back and knee are feeling slightly better now so I've had a word with myself and I'm back on the healthy wagon! Weigh-in was painful as I'd gone back up to 10st 12lb but I'm now back down to 10st 8lb and I'm doing 1200 calories per day again plus some light exercise. Still aiming for 9st 6lb by my August holiday just over a stone to lose in 3 months which I think should still be possible.
Who said losing weight was easy!
Hope you are all doing well x

Yay, well done on losing 3lbs Neverendingwashingpile! Star
Hi Riddlediddle, you're right there, weight loss isn't easy! It takes so loooong, lol. I'm glad your injuries are getting better. I know I thought 'f**k it at Easter, I put on 4lbs that week! Well done on losing 4lbs! Star

Riddlediddle · 27/04/2022 15:11

How is everyone doing?
I am worried I'm getting a little too obsessive over my weight-loss. I'm either an all or nothing type of person and I've found this week that I'm only getting to about 1000 calories per day meaning MyFitnessPal bringing up the warning message about not eating enough. I am eating healthily though and feel fine even with the exercise I'm doing so is it essential to get to 1200 calories? I think we are having a takeaway at the weekend so that will take up some of the deficit?

Riddlediddle · 27/04/2022 15:24

For info a typical day for me is:
Breakfast = 2 x weetabix and skimmed milk
Lunch = 2 x boiled eggs, hummous and celery
Dinner = chicken and veg or spinach pasta with mackerel and veg in
Snacks = fruit and nuts
Plus I have a can of diet coke most days.
Exercise is a 2 mile walk per day and then 10 mins on the cross trainer
That really doesn't seem like I'm starving myself does it?

AnyoneElseFeelDone · 28/04/2022 08:58

That sounds very under control @Riddlediddle and nothing like what goes into my face on a daily basis hence joining the thread!

Managing to stick to about 8 1/2 hours of eating day. Put Greek yogurt, berries and nuts in the food order - that's got to be better than my normal breakfast of cake or a pastry of some sort 😳

Neverendingwashingpile · 28/04/2022 09:45

@Riddlediddle I read something the other day that said those trackers often under estimate the calories. Though your breakfast and lunch do sound small. How do you feel eating like that? would it be more sustainable for you (less all or nothing) if you ate a little more? Personally, with the examples you've given, I'd add some fruit with Weetabix and more salad things with lunch. But it's all about how you feel.

Riddlediddle · 28/04/2022 13:29

Thanks @Neverendingwashingpile I've never been one for salad unfortunately although in all honesty I feel fine with what I'm eating right now and not particularly hungry at all. I don't drink tea or coffee so I just have lots of water and then usually a diet coke so that keeps me full too. I realise there will be days when I eat more and exercise less and that's fine. I actually feel really healthy which feels really good for a change.

spicedsoup · 28/04/2022 14:52

I have a strained relationship with trackers @Riddlediddle so I don’t put much stock in what they indicate! I think what is important is you get enough protein and vitamins for your body to function well, some of that might come from supplements (practically everyone needs vit D as a supplement for instance), then get enough energy to function well too - that could be from carbs, fat, or a mix of the two but whatever makes you function well, have energy, feel good. I need about 100g protein daily, which I was advised on due to chronic condition, and I can feel the difference when I don’t. But I only eat once or twice a day, my food is just nutrient dense. On all or nothing, the only thing to bear in mind is sustainability, so if this is similar to how you would eat when maintaining your goal weight then no issues, but if you think it might be significantly different then it’s worth building a bridge between the two so to speak so that you can maintain your lower weight rather than finding yourself yo-yo’ing (but you might not be prone to that).

Sounds delicious
@AnyoneElseFeelDone ! Should be a good start to your day 🙂

Struggling a little here with a sick baby (just a bad cold) but we’re all tired and I think other DCs may be coming down with it so… let’s see how we go… 😅

AnyoneElseFeelDone · 28/04/2022 19:35

Cake 🍰 is an amazing breakfast but think yogurt probably more sensible 😉

Hope you get sleep, poorly children are never good for willpower.

Riddlediddle · 03/05/2022 15:19

How are we all doing? I weighed in today at 10st 5lbs so that's a 7lb loss in 3 weeks which I'm happy with and I'm still on track to be 9.5 stone by August holiday! 🙏

spicedsoup · 03/05/2022 17:50

That’s amazing @Riddlediddle well done!

Haven’t weighed yet as we’re all still down with a virus 😩 I’m not confident as I’ve been relying on convenience food, so I’m feeling a bit impatient and thinking I’ll need to do a boot camp style refocus once we’re all better!

Riddlediddle · 03/05/2022 18:18

@spicedsoup oh no hope you're all recovered soon. Convenience food is a necessity during periods of illness so don't be hard on yourself for it. You'll soon get back on track when you're ready x

spicedsoup · 03/05/2022 19:03

Thanks @Riddlediddle indeed, have to keep reminding myself that this is just one of those things!

Hope everyone else is doing well 🙂

Neverendingwashingpile · 04/05/2022 09:33

Well done @Riddlediddle! Hope you're better soon @spicedsoup

I dread to think how I'm doing. Had my birthday the end of last week with several treats and then a trip to a&e in the middle of the night with ds (4) at the weekend as he was struggle to breathe. He's ok but I'm emotionally drained. Meals have been ok but had a fair few things I should have had. Will slowly get myself back on track this week

73kittycat73 · 08/05/2022 19:10

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't been around, felt a bit down and was also severely messing up on the diet front. I have decided to try and stick to 1500 clas a day which would give me a weight loss of 1/2 a pound a week, so 2lbs in a month. I'm happy with that as staying on 1200 was messing with my head. I know it will take a long time but hopefully it will be more sustainable and keep me in good steed when I'm maintaining. I'm on day 3 and won't weigh myself for another month.
@Neverendingwashingpile So sorry to hear about your little one, that must have been frightening. So glad they are better now.
Hi @spicedsoup How's the cold situation? Hopefully you are all feeling better now? I agree, convenience food as and when needed!

AnyoneElseFeelDone · 08/05/2022 21:07

Hi all just checking in too. Hope things are a bit calmer now with illness @Neverendingwashingpile and@spicedsoup

Sounds sensible @73kittycat73

I'm trying to concentrate on basics... eating inside of 8 hours, have done well on yogurt, berries and nuts for breakfast and have done a few short yoga stretch videos. Still no Coke and flossing and brushing as soon as my eating Windsor closes.

Have a great week all!

AnyoneElseFeelDone · 08/05/2022 21:08

Oh and good going@Riddlediddle!
