Thanks. Smile
But I’m feeling better overall and more positive and well and truly back on track nutrition-wise.

Excellent! You can only be doing yourself good. And being positive always helps! Smile

I gave in when we had the nice weather a week or so back and bought a few pieces of summer clothes in my current size. Good for you for buying some nice things for yourself. Star I wouldn't worry about fitting in to your pre-pregnancy clothes just yet, you'll get there. You sound determined to me. Smile

Neverendingwashingpile · 06/04/2022 07:26

Well done @73kittycat73!
@spicedsoup glad you're bought yourself some things. It's important to feel comfortable. That will only help your overall well-being Smile

I think I've been quite good over the weekend and start of this week. Down to 13st on the nose this morning. And it's that time of the month where its usually difficult to loose so am pleased I'm down a bit. (A pound or so) it's the Easter holidays here so exercise it's difficult to fit in with a house full of children constantly but I managed to squeeze in a 20 minute walk and a quick stretch yesterday.

How's everyone else been doing?

spicedsoup · 06/04/2022 18:59

Indeed @Neverendingwashingpile no good me feeling down in tight clothes! It’s surprising the difference it can make to how one feels.

Good over here, not weighing yet due to menstrual cycle as it’s basically pointless, so maybe later this week or early next week I will get around to it Grin if I’ve shifted a little that would be grand. Realised it’s only been 3 weeks since my meds adjusted, thought it was longer, so managing my own expectations there.

A big wave to everyone, hope all are feeling well Smile

73kittycat73 · 06/04/2022 20:45

Well done on the weight loss Neverendingwashingpile! Are you tearing your hair out with the kids? Grin Maybe you could all go for a long walk? Exercise for you, and tire the kids out?
Good luck when you do weigh in spicedsoup, I really do hope that you are pleased. Smile
I had a call from the Drs today. I had my bloods taken yesterday (Diabetic, type 2.) and the receptionist was really trying to not worry me, lol. They were just asking for me to get my bloods done again in 12 weeks as, although she couldn't tell me as she was a receptionist not a dr I need another test for my thyroid. I'm not worried. My nan had an underactive thyroid, as does my mum. They also did the same last year, first test I was borderline, second test was OK!
Have been a bit up and down this week. We have horrible neighbours and are looking for a new place to rent. My mum had a run in with one of them on Monday. Real big man threatening a disabled 71 year old. She was on her own. I got so angry and stressed about it I ate a load of low cal chocolate bars I had in. Am being strict on myself yesterday, today and tomorrow then hopefully I've reined it back in.
I hope you all have had a good week?

Neverendingwashingpile · 17/04/2022 11:05

@73kittycat73 it's been a long couple of weeks! Grin they're back to school on Tuesday so some normality can resume for a while at least.

I haven't done a weigh in for a while. Holidays have been tricky but I think I've been doing ok diet wise considering. Have managed to drag children for a couple of walks. Good for the steps and when they've gone on their scooters or bikes my Fitbit has logged it as actual excercise which is a nice bonus.

How's everyone else doing?

AnyoneElseFeelDone · 17/04/2022 19:52

Any room for a late comer to join? Emotional eater with a family wedding to attend in 7 weeks. I was doing really really well when our neighbours started a 6 week renovation project and I work from home!

Only good thing I've clung onto has been giving up a 35 year full sugar Coke habit since the end of January.

73kittycat73 · 18/04/2022 19:55

Hi Neverendingwashingpile. Well done on being OK food wise. Star It must be hard with little ones around to feed all the time. Still, at least you have a little break tomorrow?
I went off the rails totally last week. So bad I actually put on 4lbs! Shock Back on it since yesterday though. Do the cravings ever stop??!! lol
Hi AnyoneElseFeelDone, well done on kicking the cola habit! Shock That must have been really hard because not only did you have to give up the sugar rush, you also were giving up caffeine. Well done!
You still around spicedsoup? I hope you are OK. Smile

Neverendingwashingpile · 20/04/2022 07:03

Hi @AnyoneElseFeelDone welcome. Well done on kicking the Coke habit! I bet that was difficult. It might seem like just a small thing but small incremental sustainable changes are the way forward!

@73kittycat73 I weighed this morning and have also put on a lb. Busy, socialising and Easter chocolate have been my downfall! Back on track today. no more chocolate for me!

AnyoneElseFeelDone · 20/04/2022 13:55

Thanks for the welcome. I have tried and failed many a time but so far so good on the Coke front. Nearly 3 months so as long as I don't buy it..
Work/life stressful and exhausting at the moment so food is pretty dire, but I've been on my feet all day so hopefully at least burning some off.

spicedsoup · 20/04/2022 14:53

Still here @73kittycat73! 😄 Keep looking ahead and not back, some of your gain will be water retention, so just look after yourself, be well nourished, it’s a fresh new day 🙂

Welcome @AnyoneElseFeelDone and congrats on getting past the red Cola! I have also been an emotional eater most of my life, but have managed to reduce it a lot with low carb/low sugar, it really can just send you off into craving everything.

Well done on keeping up activity @Neverendingwashingpile , I’m sure the lb will move fairly quickly, pretty good going for some hectic weeks!

Overall my eating has been much better in terms of nutrition, shifting up my habits. We have had a few celebrations this month

spicedsoup · 20/04/2022 14:57

Had to press post as the site kept glitching and I really didn’t want to have to retype 😅

Had a few celebrations this month, coincidental that they’re all now, so have been trying to balance that. I don’t want to avoid these things, just embrace them, have managed to maintain so no loss but no gain which frankly is pretty good going all things considered! Now hoping to press on ahead for losses. Still waiting for my meds to fully level out, but improving bit by bit and activity has increased a bit with it. I’m feeling ambitious and want to crack losing 10lb, but also reminding myself I’m in for the long haul. However I’m in the 180s so if I can get into the 170s within the next few weeks/month (I think I’m 184lb now?) then that would be a nice motivator. I have about 40-45lb to lose to get back to pre-pregnancy weight.

AnyoneElseFeelDone · 20/04/2022 17:25

Thanks @spicedsoup I find when I'm in a good place sticking to 16:8 works really well as I just can't eat after tea for example so it limits the picking. Just trying to get back into that.

73kittycat73 · 20/04/2022 19:56

This will be the third time I've tried writing this post. I keep being chucked out!
It's nice to see you all and I'm glad you are all doing ok. I feel off the wagon again last night and this morning. I was really stressed. We've had trouble with out downstairs neighbours for years. It got so bad that an asbo was going to be given and the landlord gave them a section 8. They had been OK (For them) for a while, but the section 8 has now expired.
My mum was going out the other day and they poked their head out the window (That opens onto our garden/front door.) and my mum politely asked if when there lodger came in at night (Around 11ish, and they are illegally subletting.) if he could be a little quieter? (He bangs and shouts.) She got met with a tirade of abuse, swearing and threats. She's a 71 year old disabled pensioner. There were two of them out there doing it.
So we know they are going to start again, and I was upset how my mum was treated.

73kittycat73 · 20/04/2022 19:58

It seems the site doesn't like me posting smilies. Shame because there are some good ones! Sorry about all the typo's up there.

Neverendingwashingpile · 21/04/2022 13:46

@73kittycat73

Sorry to hear about all that. No wonder you felt stressed! Is your mum ok?

When you're ready, draw a line under it (the eating slip up) and move forward. I think emotional eating is such a common and natural thing to do as it raises levels of happy hormones and makes us feel calmer.

I've managed to avoid the chocolate and other treats the last couple of days. Thinking about reducing carbs a little bit too. Trying to make nice big hearty salads for lunch instead of sandwiches to help with that.

@spicedsoup sounds like you've been doing well! Do you find having a target helps?

@AnyoneElseFeelDone is 16:8 fasting? do you do that everyday when you do it?

73kittycat73 · 21/04/2022 19:58

Hi Neverendingwashingpile and thanks. My mum is ok, bless her.
I carried on comfort eating yesterday. I've been good today though. Probably because I've got nothing in and the shopping comes tomorrow. lol
Going to go to bed and read tonight. I saw a book recommended on the weight loss chat and I bought it, The 4 Day Win by Martha Beck. I shall report back if it's interesting/ok.
Well done on swerving the treats! That's really good! (I would post a thumbs up emoji but don't want to be kicked out again, lol.)

spicedsoup · 21/04/2022 20:32

Oh @73kittycat73 lots of hugs to you and your mum, I hope things get better, it sounds rubbish. Keep on looking forward, trying to think of future you, feeling all healthy and happy (at least, that’s what I’m trying to remind myself!). I’m also having the same smiley issue on the site!

@Neverendingwashingpile I think so, although I haven’t lost I have had more motivation to just enjoy the celebrations and not go “Well I ate that so now I’m eating everything else too”! So in between those times I’ve been trying to eat well for me, not making myself hungry but just very sensible, low carb, whole foods, getting enough protein etc. So it seems to have evened out and I feel glad to know also I am back in a frame of mind where I can have a bit of indulgence but not treat it as a reason to go wild for days or weeks.

After all of that however, today I did give in to some chocolate (oh well). I mostly get PMS with ovulation and I am just really going through it this month. It’s a postpartum thing, it’s always been heightened after babies and then calmed over time, and it has been easing up, but this month has been tougher, I’ve been on the painkillers and other bits (so many symptoms!) and I’m just in bed, having some biscuits and some chocolate. However I do at least feel confident that this isn’t a regular occurrence! DCs are happy because it means they got some biscuits too!

So, onwards and downwards… hoping to see 170s (even if it’s 179.9, ha) in the not too distant future…

73kittycat73 · 23/04/2022 11:18

I hope you enjoyed your biscuits, sounds like you deserve them. Flowers I hope you are feeling better now?
Mum is OK thanks, got in touch with the police and they have been brilliant this time.
Well, I don't know what's happened but the scales must have surely been wrong last week or this week. I stepped on the scales a number of times last week, and moved them and got 12st 11.2lbs. I had chocolate yesterday and too any yogurts so decided to draw a line under it, weigh myself today and get back on it. Scales today said, after 2 goes, 12st 6.2lbs! There's no way I lost 5lbs this week! lol I shall take it though. Grin So I either didn't gain as much last week, or lost more than I thought this week. I think the latter is more apt. Never mind, it's a win! GrinI hope you all have a lovely weekend and enjoy yourselves what ever you are doing.

AnyoneElseFeelDone · 23/04/2022 20:01

Hi all just checking in but struggle on my phone at the best of times and the upgrade 🤔 to the site hasn't helped.

Yes I do 16:8 daily when I'm on an even keel @Neverendingwashingpile Today has been the first day in about 7 weeks so that's my aim for this week - just get back into it.

Good luck with the horrible neighbours @73kittycat73 . I hate living where we do thanks to ours but they sound much better than yours!

Hormones are the worst @spicedsoup I'm having my period after a 53 day cycle and having a lot of pain so far. Want to come back as a man next time 😉

Take care all and enjoy your weekend.

73kittycat73 · 24/04/2022 19:43

I'd rather come back as a cat next time. Grin Well, certainly one of the pampered ones!
Thanks and sorry to hear you have trouble neighbours too. It's so hard isn't it? Unless I win The Lottery it doesn't look like I'll be moving any time soon. Mind you, we have the police on our side this time. (Last time the CPO that was dealing with the case called the neighbour, 'A silly sausage.' An antisocial law breaking silly sausage!)
Hope your pain has cleared up now? I'm lucky, I don't have periods anymore. It's so much nicer! Smile

spicedsoup · 25/04/2022 12:57

Lots of sympathy @AnyoneElseFeelDone hormones are wild, they have such an impact on our bodies yet medical research often doesn’t take that into account <stepping away now from potential feminist rant> 😁

Weighed myself yesterday mostly because I thought to do it, no routine here on that front! And I’d lost 1.5lb, yay! That was a nice surprise, especially with my biscuit adventure 😄

Hope everyone has a good week!

AnyoneElseFeelDone · 25/04/2022 13:57

Well done@spicedsoup

Sounds awful @73kittycat73 We just seem stuck with endless building work somewhere. Mostly not too bad but affects parking, one neighbour self building an extension which means it's no where near finish but he likes to do a random hour of hammering say 4pm on a Sunday afternoon and we've had 6 weeks of renovations directly next door which has been hellish.

Normally have a bad 24hrs and then things calm down with bleeding and pain so much better today. Slept so badly last night so been mainlining carbs but I didn't cave early 🤞 just need to stop after tea.

73kittycat73 · 25/04/2022 18:27

Yay, go you spicedsoup! Star Well done on losing! Smile
Oh, sorry to hear that AnyoneElseFeelDone. That does sound like a pain (Your neighbours, but also your monthlies too!)

jeffersonsam · 26/04/2022 06:16

spicedsoup · 16/03/2022 15:06

Congrats @jeffersonsam!

Indeed, go easy on yourself @BeanStew22. I think weight loss is absolutely a ‘Marathon not a sprint’ situation. And recovery takes time (she says, typing from bed, ready to doze off soon Grin ).

Thanks for your reply comment @spicedsoup . I agree your comment, weight loss is absolutlely a mararthon, We need more time to lose our body weight. Surely People will achieve their weight loss goal, after visit this group post.

Neverendingwashingpile · 26/04/2022 06:21

Hi everyone, came on to check in. Sorry to hear all your troubles with neighbours and hormones. You have my sympathy. I've been getting migranes recently which the doctor thinks is due to hormones 😥
