This morning I really struggled to get out of bed but I did it and did my workout before I left. I have to whinge as I have DOMs in my butt. It must be all the squats! I know it will be worth it if I can keep it up, but right now it’s uncomfortable

I have the options of putting lots of measurements into the body coach app so must do that as well as progress won’t just be on the scales.

I got to 13.5k steps yesterday which is ok but could be better.

@Yourownpersonaljesus moving is stressful at the best of times so I hope things settle down and you are happy in your new home. Exercise will help with your stress levels even if it is hard to work up the motivation to do it.

LargeInCharge · 05/04/2022 13:19

Hi @Yourownpersonaljesus and thank you. I’m so sorry you’re having a stressful time. Don’t feel guilty about food as you’ve got enough going on at the moment. I hope you get settled into your new home asap.

Hi @Dashel I remember you from the previous thread. I hope you’re feeling better. 13.5k is really good. I did just over 10k yesterday and my legs feel tight and a bit sore today.

Well today was going well until I popped into Waitrose this evening to pick up some sesame oil. They had biscoff yum yums reduced to 9p so of course I had to buy some. Enjoyed one with a cup of tea when I got back. I finally started exercising again 2 days ago @Dashel. I agree that it does help with stress so need to get back into the habit.

LargeInCharge · 06/04/2022 00:21

9p biscoff yum yums! I’m not surprised you grabbed some, I would have. Well done on getting back into exercising @Yourownpersonaljesus

Dashel · 06/04/2022 20:36

9p yum yum 😋 it takes a lot of will power to resist that. I guess a good thing about being vegan is that a lot of the office treats and reduced bakery products are things that aren’t suitable for my diet. However a 9p baguette is just as nice if you love bread.

Congratulations on getting back to exercising again, what did you do?

I don’t know if I’m coming down with carb flu or something but every bone aches and I’m so tired. Could be a bug or covid again I guess 😩 but hopefully I will feel better tomorrow.

It was a rest day today so no Joe Wicks video but I did the Fit On walking workout first thing and then went for a walk after work even though I felt terrible. I’m still at 10k steps and I don’t think I have it in me for yoga.

I had my chocolate banana protein oats for breakfast and a stir fry veggies and tofu for lunch and had the other half for dinner. I had 3 squares of chocolate- whoops, oh an an apple with peanut butter.

I have the same breakfast tomorrow and the plan was another work out but will see how I feel as I’m struggling to stay awake at 8.30!

Keep going everyone!

LargeInCharge · 07/04/2022 09:14

I hope you’re feeling better @Dashel

When I started intermittent fasting I had a four day headache and now if I have too many carbs, especially if coupled with sugar I have a horrible carb/sugar hangover the next day. It’s weird how your body gets used a healthier routine then reacts to a less than healthy day.

I hope yours is a carb flu rather than covid.

I’ve been doing 10k brisk steps a day which have made my legs ache since Tuesday but they feel less achey today.

Hope you guys are having a good Thursday.

Sorry to hear you're not feeling great @Dashel, hope you're feeling better soon. Just finished a workout so feeling pleased with myself. I tend to do the three below on rotation. I sometimes do different ones but tend to stick to what I know. I also sometimes add a short abs workout on the end - either Joe Wicks or Rebecca Louise.
I'm very impressed with the amount of steps you are both doing.
I made a healthy lentil and vegetable curry for dinner last night. I did spoil it though by having naan, a samosa and bhajis!

Yourownpersonaljesus · 07/04/2022 10:29

There appears to be only one video in my post above for some reason. The other two I do regularly are Team Body Project Sweatslinger and Caroline Girvan Epic Beginner Day 4.

LargeInCharge · 07/04/2022 15:36

Thanks for those links @Yourownpersonaljesus I’ll have a go of them.
Onion bhajis are so nice. I add a squeeze of lemon to them when I allow myself them.

I roasted some garlic this afternoon, mashed it and put it into a jar in the fridge. I’ll be safe from vampires for the next week 😂

What are you going to do with the garlic @LargeInCharge? I love garlic. I actually managed to stay just under my maintenance calories today for the first time in a long time. I had Thai green vegetable curry with sticky rice for dinner which was lovely. My left knee was hurting for some parts of my workout this morning. I think it must be the shock of exercising after not doing anything for 3 weeks. This is the other video I meant to link to in my previous post:

Dashel · 10/04/2022 08:49

Finally feeling a bit better so am doing a HIIT session in a minute with DH. It wasn’t COVID but a few others had similar symptoms so just a bug I think.

I managed to loose 2 pounds so am 10st 11 this morning 🥳

I have premade my usual breakfast for today and tomorrow as well. Work wise I am going to be tied to a laptop all week between 7.45 and 5.15 without lunch due to everyone on leave so it’s going to be a struggle to get many steps but I’m going to do my best.

I think DH is ready for Joe!

Yourownpersonaljesus · 10/04/2022 11:34

Well done on the loss @Dashel and on doing your workout early on a Sunday morning. I've just finished a Team Body Project workout and added Joe Wicks 7 minute abs on the end. Because of my dodgy knee I did a Caroline Girvan upper body workout yesterday - it was so tough I couldn't even do all of the exercises! I had this for dinner last night:www.waitrose.com/ecom/products/mindful-chef-black-chickpea-and-cashew-korma/893987-778498-778499
It wasn't particularly low in calories but had lots of healthy ingredients and was pretty tasty. Oh, and I didn't pay £5 for it - it was reduced to £1.65. Have a lovely Sunday everyone.

KittenKong · 10/04/2022 11:38

I need to do this - wow do I need to do this!

I think I’m having long covid symptoms - no energy, horrible bloating after any food, feeling slow and like I’ve eaten a cement yoga ball (even through I’ve not eaten since yesterday lunchtime and only had a cup of hot water with lemon and a cup of coffee).

I need a full detox!

I have found in the past that egg whites are excellent on whole meal toast for breakfast. Fills you up and you get protein.

Dashel · 11/04/2022 15:37

@KittenKong, sorry to hear about your post covid symptoms. The post covid was worse than the actual covid for me. I hope you feel better soon!

@Yourownpersonaljesus congrats on your workouts! Everyone feels like a chore at the moment for me. I have noticed that planking is getting easier.

I did the same workout early this morning and had my usual breakfast and m&s fake chicken and half a stir fry kit for lunch and will have fake sausages and veg for dinner.

I need to get some steps in today but I’m tired and struggling to get away from my laptop 😥

Tomorrow I’m going to have more of a rest day with no HIIT. Still aiming to get steps in and eat well though.

LargeInCharge · 12/04/2022 07:42

I’ve had the flu all weekend and I’m still full of a cold. Covid test came back negative thankfully.

As for the garlic @Yourownpersonaljesus you can add it to soups, hummus, on top of veg, mix with beans for garlic beans on toast and even spread it on bread. Dh mixed some into egg for an omelette. You can freeze it or it keeps for 4-5 days in the fridge.

@LargeInCharge I hope that you feel better soon!

My shoulder is killing me today, I am waiting on an appointment with our local physio who has covid.

I’m likely to do 11k steps today. Went for an early walk with DH, then had my protein power breakfast followed by a vegan steak and stir fry for lunch and a bit of a cooked breakfast for dinner. Not very Joe Wicks but probably not too bad calorie wise as lots of tomatoes, spinach, mushrooms and asparagus. I had an apple and peanut butter and two squares of chocolate for snacks.

Yourownpersonaljesus · 12/04/2022 21:21

Sorry to hear that you're not feeling well @LargeInCharge and hope you can get your shoulder sorted soon @Dashel. Hi @KittenKong welcome to the thread. Somehow I managed to stick to my maintenance calories today despite eating a huge slice of carrot cake in a cafe with a friend. I had a barbecue Richmond sausage sandwich for lunch and quorn and veg fajitas for dinner. The sausages were lovely - even nicer than the regular Richmond meat free sausages.

LargeInCharge · 19/04/2022 12:01

Thank you @Yourownpersonaljesus and @Dashel I hope you both enjoyed Easter/bank holiday/Passover.

I went off track due to being I’ll but I’m back on track now and feeling so hungry as I get used to IF again. I probably shouldn’t have gone straight back into 18/6. Oh well, only 45 minutes to go.

Have a good week!

That should say “ill” but autocorrect always changes it to I’ll.

Morning all,

@LargeInCharge I did enjoy the long weekend, probably a little too much. Far too much booze, chocolate and junk food in general! I haven’t gotten back on the scales yet but I will do tomorrow.

my shoulder is still so sore, but I chased the physio for an appointment (she had covid when I asked 10 days ago) she is the only one anywhere near me and apparently really good.

I did a Joe Wicks workout early this morning and had my usual protein breakfast and will have beans on toast for lunch.

I think we have decided to not go abroad for our two weeks in May as I want to go somewhere hot and exotic where I will spend my time in a bikini and I think I’m a bit of a way off. I’m looking at going in September instead and that gives me a huge incentive to loose weight, gain muscle and firm up.

I think Bank Holidays are an easy way to completely fall of the wagon but hopefully we will all be right back on it!

LargeInCharge · 22/04/2022 06:43

Hope you’re less sore now @Dashel its so annoying when you want to work out but keep feeling aches and pains.

I did omad yesterday, so we’ll see if I get super hungry today since I started fasting at 3pm yesterday rather than 6:30 - 7pm. I’ve tried it out of laziness more than anything and also I’m still feeling full before my 2nd meal of the day.

Hope everyone’s Friday is a good one.

OP posts:
Dashel · 22/04/2022 13:58

We did a pre work walk this morning and had my normal breakfast and vegan bacon roll for lunch. I slept really badly and my shoulder is so sore 😩 I’m 10st 131b at the moment and my physio is booked for Saturday so at least that’s a start at getting me fixed.

@LargeInCharge you have impressive will power to do the OMAD way of eating, I couldn’t do that. How hungry have you been today? A colleague did it every day abs he lost many stones but gave it up and put all the weight back on.

Yourownpersonaljesus · 22/04/2022 18:27

Hi all. Hope your shoulder gets sorted soon @Dashel. Sounds like you are really on track @LargeInCharge. I've eaten loads of crap this week - I seem to have no willpower at all. I'll try to be healthier at the weekend.

LargeInCharge · 22/04/2022 22:30

I managed an extra 4 hours on top of my fast today so 22 hours. I’m feeling fine right now and have been fasting again since 6:30pm. Weirdly I don’t seem to get hungry when I’m fasting. I think because I drink a fair bit of water and make sure I’ve hit and usually gone over my protein goal.
I used to get zero deep sleep (my watch logs my sleep patterns) but since starting fasting I’m getting an hour or more of deep sleep.
My initial plan was to get to a weight I’m comfortable with then stop IF but now I’m thinking I’ll stick with IF when I hit my goal and then eat my maintenance calories.

It really helps with my willpower because the eating window is structured.

I hope the physio helps @Dashel

Don’t worry @Yourownpersonaljesus I think when you realise you’ve slipped up but aim to get back on track that’s the most important thing.

The main mistake I’ve made in the past is to carry on eating unhealthily rather than recognise and change it. If I have a week or two of slip ups I’m like okay, time to get back into it.
