Hello, a year or so a go I did a thread like this and found it very very useful as it really helped me become accountable, and some lovely people joined in too! We kept it going for I think maybe 6 months?! By that time I’d lost everything I wanted to lose and was happy in maintenance at 8st 10 so I stopped posting! Since then I’ve been enjoying my food and maintaining fairly well, and absolutely no binges/emotional eating for I think a year? Which feels amazing as I was always a yoyo dieter and in a binge/restrict cycle and I do feel like that finally not part of my life anymore! (Has been achieved through not being too restrictive, really enjoying everything I ate so not feeling like I was on a diet at all, creating a small calorie deficit and doing 15000-20000 steps a day) although december and christmas has included a lot more biscuits for breakfast etc and I’m not feeling brilliantly healthy! I haven’t weighed myself but still feeling fine in my skin and even though I haven’t tracked calories for about 7 months I’m pretty sure I’ve been in quite a big surplus, maybe eating 3000-4000 cals a day? I’ve also noticed my fingers and hands sometimes go numb/tingly so I might try and reduce sugar a bit.. I’m also going to try intermittent fasting eating 12-8 this week but when I’m back at work next week I may have to change that! Anyway very very sorry for the rambly journal like entry haha, would be great to have people join me! In my last thread I used to get a lot of people very surprised by how much I ate and confused how I was losing weight- so just wanted to say everybody’s different- I am very active and do a lot of walking my dog (min 1hr a day but normally more like 2), don’t have children yet, in my late 20s, I sometimes go running too although haven’t done so for a while so going to try get back to that, but according to my fitbit I normally burn between 2400-3000 calories a day, (less If I’ve just been for 1 hour) so I try to eat at 250-500 calorie deficit meaning I can lose weight on 1900-2750 cals a day depending on the deficit I feel like doing and the calories burnt that day. Some days I am not in a deficit but as long as there is a deficit over the week the scales week go down ! I also did used to have an ED so found some of the comments like ‘oh that is so much food how on earth are you losing weight on that’ a bit hard! So please remember everyone is different and no one should compare themselves, we just used to use this thread as a way to keep ourselves accountable and inspire another with nice reasonably healthy food 😊 so yes, please join if you fancy it!!

Day so far: Takeaway latte with oat milk (have estimated 200 cals) - no picture,
Lunch: tesco veggie lattice (delicious!) , roast parsnips, carrots and sweet potatoes, a little cauliflower cheese, peas, broccoli, 2 Yorkshire puddings and mayflower gravy- after so long not tracking with my fitness pal I was surprised this came to just under 1400 cals 😅 but it was delicious with lots of vegetables and I’m nice and satisfied and should be able to skip the sugary snacks until dinner time!! (Snacks are my definite downfall atm!!) . I’ll do a tuna salad I think for dinner so should end up being just over 2000 cals for the day. Think I’ll also try and get out for a (slow) 5k run!

Decaf coffee with 100 ml skinny oatly milk, 16g dark chocolate- 130cals

Feeling quite peckish despite that huge lunch but just need to push through till dinner! First day is always the hardest!!

And earlier snack- roast sweet potatoes! Total cals just over 2300, I’ll have burnt 2550 by end of today, or if I go on a run before bed it’ll be about 2850, but I’m not sure if I can be bothered.. 😅 but maybe posting this will encourage me!

I'd like to join you, but my Christmas finishes late because of DH's birthday weekend so it will be Jan 11th. I'm the opposite to you in most ways - in my early sixties, short, and put on weight on easily with just a few calories over. I do do a fair amount of exercise though, so we could encourage each other - I'll log that too. Historically I've maintained weight by using a shakes type diet whenever I've put too much on, but this year I'm taking up cycling coaching so can't manage on so few calories. I need to find a way to lose weight and keep it off. I'll weigh next week but I suspect I'm now pushing 65kg and I want to be 55kg.

Can I join please? I'm pretty sure I posted some in your old thread too, but always seemed to have a nightmare uploading photos! Back to work today, so I'll start now: so far this morning 3 mugs of tea and 2 coffees all with oat milk. Half a banana with sugar free granola a dollop of Greek yogurt and a splash of oat milk. I can already see that I should work on reducing my caffeine intake!

Keep forgetting photos! Lunch was 2 crumpets with stilton, dinner was veggie meatballs with rice and ratatouille. 2 satsumas for afternoon snack and yet more tea!

Breakfast- 1 coffee and a few decaff coffees with oat milk
Lunch- leftover pastry and roast sweet potatoes (heated up in airfryer)
Snack- fuel bar

Snack- chocolate oatly milk done in milk frother, 3 stuffed dates (medjool dates stuffed with biscoff, almond butter and half a chocolate Florentine each)
Dinner- paneer and chickpea stuffed pancakes
Snack- popcorn , another chocolate oatly milk, half a kinder surprise egg and 1 advent calendar chocolate because my partner hadn’t finished it yet!!! 🙄
Still quite peckish even though I’m only in a smallish deficit (burnt around 2400cal and eaten just under 2200) but just feeling glad I’m no longer in a huge surplus, and at this rate I should lose 1lb every 2 weeks which I’ll be happy with! I didn’t do a run yesterday or today but hopefully tomorrow is the day 🤪

Breakfast - banana oat & chia porridge with berries, flaked almonds and dark chocolate
Lunch - Jackfruit and squash curry with brown rice, broccoli and yoghurt
Dinner - Same curry but with egg fried brown rice with peas, spring onions, kimchi and soya sauce.
Pudding: Tiny coconut chocolate dessert thing
Snacks: 2 dried apricots, 9 cadburys chocolate fingers, 2.5 hot cross buns, 5 crackers with goats cheese on top.

Oh dear! Out of interest I added everything up and think I’ve eaten about 2700 cals today (including 1000 cals of mostly sugary snacks!!), even though I’m still hungry and considered myself to be quite restrained today 😅 it’s so so easy to underestimate how much you eat haha! Still hoping I managed to burn that amount off as I did do about 4 hours walking today so fingers crossed! Fitbit is currently charging so tomorrow will be less guess work!

I was on that thread but had a different user name, can't remember which one. I'm sure you'll remember me, you introduced me to biscoff but I could only get it in giant catering sized jars.

Oo yes @BringBackCoffeeCreams were you fat cat thin cat? Haha yes I remember the jars 😂😂 lovely to have you here again!! @pontiouspilates that’s hardly any snacks compared to my day haha!
This is weird and may be a coincidence, but the past 2 days where I was fairly ok with sugar intake I didn’t experience any tingling/pins and needles in my hands when I woke up.. but this morning (after a sugary day yesterday!!) I did! So really gonna try cut down.. I can’t cut it out completely as I’d be certain to have a binge eventually but just gonna try not to go over my sugar goal in my fitness pal!
Today so far-
Breakfast, mocha made with 150ml oatly barista milk, 10g dark chocolate (tesco 74% I deff recommend as cheaper lindt alternative!) and an expresso shot- really delicious and lower in sugar than what I often go for! Plus a decaf coffee with 100ml oat milk
Lunch- veggie soup (just blended all the leftovers from last nights vegetable stew haha) with chicken sausages and a cheese toasty
Plan for rest of the day:
Dinner- veggie sausage toad in the hole, peas , broccoli
Snacks- dark chocolate, maybe a stuffed date if it doesn’t take me over sugar goal, decaff coffees

Friedbanana your chocolate mocha sounds amazing, I will definitely try that!
Breakfast today was some miso soup - not a usual choice for me, but i wasn't very hungry and had a craving for something salty.
Lunch was an omelette with mushrooms and feta on a bagel thin followed by a persimmon. I'll see if i can upload my pics
