Omg life have a great time 😊
We used to be glued to HOTY here 🤗🏇🐎🐴🏇

Mrsmadevans · 08/10/2021 17:06

Not l know its so hard maintaining at social events when everyone else eats what they like 🤗 keep going, you are doing brilliantly 🤗
Gen l totally understand re food poverty. We were really poor growing up and although we had a meal every night l can remember us owing everyone 🙀
It was shaming. I can remember the milk man coming and l only had a couple of pounds there to pay him my the full amount. He was so horrible to me, l was only a child of about 9 , the whole family left me to face him. I have never forgotten it 😓

Mrsmadevans · 08/10/2021 17:08

Sorry if l have triggered anyone , you can't help remembering and realising why we have a problem with food 🤗

Mrsmadevans · 08/10/2021 17:08

Have a lovely weekend everyone ☺️

Not2bObvious · 08/10/2021 18:53

Not triggering mrs, but I had a memory the paying off of small amounts off bills in shops in order to get more tick/credit for Sherry. Jesus how utterly depressing to think what some kids lived through, I know things can be worse but I can't imagine putting my kids through it. I'm pleased that's not my life for sure!

I’m not triggered that’s not my life now and it made me who I am —thought slightly fatter than I works like—

Not sure I will be able to eat anyway after this ££££££ trip away

lifelongfrugaleer · 08/10/2021 21:11

Works = would

northender · 09/10/2021 07:18

We lived in a "tied" cottage as my dad was an employed farmer. It meant we had a decent house and bills paid, but his additional income was very low. We had a very tight food budget and ate very simply but didn't go short. I remember everything being secondhand, we used to queue to get into jumble sales for clothes and all furniture etc was secondhand. That's where my frugality is from in hating waste & always wanting to spend well, they were good lessons, but I love being able to have treats too.

On a positive note, I'm down 1 pound to 246 this morning, yes not absolutely we can keep going with this & succeed!

northender · 09/10/2021 07:21

Cancelled my gym class this morning as a friend is taking dd and I for a walk and paddle boarding on Ullswater. Hope I manage to balance and burn some calories!

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/10/2021 07:23

Sounds fun north
I will be walking around nec for my steps today

Anyone want the three pinch of nom books 1 or all 3 as I can’t get away with them

Not2bObvious · 09/10/2021 07:33

Up in the 167'ish this morning but that's fine, no tantrums today!

OP posts:
Not2bObvious · 09/10/2021 08:09

That sounds great fun north, definitely better for you than the gym - your core will be like a rock after that!
Just calculated yesterday's cals, just under 2300 which was my limit. I'm pretty pleased with that. Today will be something similar if I'm careful, already 520 in so far.
Ugh- have to go get dressed up/put my face on so I can head out for the day for family thing, it's going to be emotionally tough

Oooh paddle boarding. Love it. It’s a real calorie burner. And a great core workout.

I’ve done paddle board yoga before. Not easy. I spent more time in the water than on the board

78kg.

So far 1500 steps just pottering round the house. Off riding in a bit so that’ll be a proper workout.

Gym yesterday. Leg day. Single leg squats. Fuck that. My glutes are on fire today! But no pain no gain.

Gensola · 09/10/2021 12:05

Sounds fun north, I have no sense of balance and am incredibly clumsy so I think I’d probably drown if I tried paddle boarding 🤣
I have done a lot of housework this morning and meal planned. Hoovered whole house, laundry on, deep clean of kitchen, mopped floors. Hope that’s burned some cals!
I’m planning to take breakfast into work to stop myself buying stuff in prey - boiled eggs with a piece of fruit or overnight oats with frozen berries, nuts and Greek yog.
I get lunch provided in work and usually have fish with veg and salad, plus fruit but it does depend a bit what’s on offer!
Need to get workouts in too somehow but it’s hard now we are back teaching in person and I have a commute, who knew I would miss lockdown!

ememem84 · 09/10/2021 14:18

8917 steps so far. Riding was ace. Jumped pony higher than I’ve ever done. She refused twice and I had to use everything I had to keep get going and got her over it. She’s jumped double that height before. But I think she could tell I was nervous.

Gensola · 09/10/2021 16:53

em that sounds so amazing, I’ve never been horse riding but DH did a lot when he was a child and teenager and he really misses it.
I have eaten too much - Indian takeaway leftovers for lunch 🐷

North we used to have clothes, shoes & toys from the jumble sale too. I never had shoes bought for me l always had second hand it was just too bad if they made my feet bleed from blisters because of them not being wide enough. Nobody cared . They were very neglectful. I had to do everything for myself and the rest fo the family. They all deny it now of course Hmm Anyway back to the here and now Smile You are doing so well l am thrilled for you ! Smile

I am glad it didn't trigger you Not Smile My Dad and my Brother were /are fuctioning alcoholics and consequently they were very abusive to us . It was a nightmare growing up in that atmosphere, l can't bear the smell of booze on a man now because it reminds me of them. Thank God my DH is nothing like them and is practically teetotal except for a glass of bubbly at Christmas bless him! I am the complete opposite of my Mum and Dad and my siblings , honestly how kids suffer at their families hands yet they still protect and love their parents is unbelievable.
Mrsmadevans · 09/10/2021 20:44

Life thank you for the really kind offer of the PON books , l already have them but l am sure they will be claimed very quickly Grin
Em that sounds so thrilling & challengind well done Smile
Gen great forward planning lovely well done! Smile
I am afraid my day has not gone to plan at all but nevermind it will come, sorry l haven't been sticking to slimming and getting carried away with our childhoods , it happens on times Hmm
Have a lovely Sunday everyone Smile

Happierwithouthim · 10/10/2021 10:54

My moving average is 200.56. Gotta take the wins wherever you can!

Off out to walk the dog in local sand dunes & on the beach with dc & a friend of theirs.

Pancakes for breakfast - I filled mine with wilted spinach, garlic, feta, pine nuts & a slice of Serrano, bit heavy on the garlic & light on the feta.

Think it'll be toasties for lunch because everyone will eat them or they can have reheated pizza from thurs nights takeaway!
Will need milk & ham before lunch & then will pop to Aldi later.
Roasted a chicken fri night so will get salad ingredients & make brown bread & that's tomorrow's lunch sorted.

Not2bObvious · 11/10/2021 08:52

That's great happier, down a few pounds in the last couple of weeks aren't you? Your food sounds yum. I didn't get to weigh yesterday but today I'm in the 169's, and considering I was 171 last Monday I'll take it gladly! Got my c25k done, it's getting much tougher, glad I repeated the easier week after being sick. This is kind of a maintenance week as birthdays and family occasions from last Friday to this Friday so I may just aim to do my best.
How was the paddle boarding north? You're making me think of Indian for dinner gen, ooh the temptation 😋

I don't think so really not but this mornings 196.4 is a welcome boost Grin

Something bit me while I was dozing before the alarm went.

Not2bObvious · 12/10/2021 07:03

Ouch! But wow on the 196, now you've defo lost a few pounds.
I was an utter glutton yesterday, dreading the scales so I think I'll skip it today, bit of a crap sleep too.

Happierwithouthim · 12/10/2021 12:26

I'd no carbs with my dinner after HIIT and walking dog, was it dehydration?

I'll live vicariously through you what did you eat?
