Sparkler · 24/11/2007 20:49

Had to start a new thread peeps as the old one was too long to accept any new messages. How's it going?
I'm sad to say after my positive note on starting the previous thread, I'm having a terrible time of things. I've really slipped. So, I need you to all shout at me and get me back on track. I don't mind what you say or how you say it. I can handle it.

I have friends round tonight and I am cooking a lamb rogan josh and doing a red day - not bothered for rice at the best of times so I will stick with the curry. I have bought them naan breads though so they don't have to go without the nicer things, checked the syns per naan - 28!!! Think I will pass so I can drink more gin Also on works do tomorrow at a chinese!!!! Arrrgghh my first ever weigh in on monday and I'll be lucky if I haven't put on!

Christie - can you not stop at a foodhall and grab a jacket with beans? Or get one of those pre-packed salads without dressing from M&S or something. Or perhaps use a healthy extra and grab a healthy pre-packed sandwich on brown.

me23 · 07/12/2007 10:21

Hello everyone. I want to join slimming world online as I work and can't get to meetings. Does anyone here do it online? would you recommend it?
I'm 11stone 3lbs, and 5ft 2. I want to lose 2 stone.
Have decided I need to break this sycle of overeating. esp as when you buy a pair of spanx and still look fat and bumpy something needs to be done

Chloe55 · 07/12/2007 15:09

Not sure about online personally Me23 but I guess if you've got the willpower and don't need the embarrassment of somebody else weighing you in every week then it should work for you.

merryCHRISTIEmas · 07/12/2007 16:34

I managed to get a jacket potato with baked beans so kept to my free food!1 Also got most of my Christmas shopping done so quite a good day all round!
Not sure what I'm having tonight but I got some quorn sausages out of the freezer this morning and some "regular" ones for DH, DS and DD2.

kid · 07/12/2007 16:47

Someone help me with the Indian meal. DH really wants to go and I can't just sit there looking at him eating!

FairyTaleOfNewYork · 07/12/2007 16:48

kid, check SW site i'm sure they had a indian restirant type listing recently.

kid · 07/12/2007 17:25

Thanks, found what I needed and now know I can stick to SW and still go out for a meal sad that I am so bothered about it but I know that if I break it so early on, I have no chance of doing well.

cherryredretrochick · 07/12/2007 18:12

Kid veg curry in a tomato based sauce with boiled rice. i think Rogan Josh is the one but you might need to ask the waiter. I am just making one at home for my dh who misses curry.

lurcherlass · 07/12/2007 20:16

I'd have a red day and eat prawns as a starter (without the puri), followed by tandoori chicken (cooked in the tandoor oven, without the curry sauce)...ooh...lovely...

kid · 08/12/2007 08:31

I'm going to have a veg byriani as its a bit of everything. Its 11.5 sins but still within my allowance.
I wonder how my weight loss is going this week, I am trying so hard not to weigh myself in between. My clothes are getting looser already, its only been close to 2 weeks, its brilliant!

Lizzylou · 08/12/2007 09:59

Me23, I started at class, got underway and then realised that my group leader was rubbish and it was a waste of money, now I weigh once a week at the leisure centre and fill in the online chart. I only realised how rubbish my group was when I heard about other's groups on here.
I'm still losing and enjoying the plan to be honest. So you can do it online, but may be better starting a class and then moving online (think it is cheaper that way too!). There are always lots of tips and encouragement on here too.

merryCHRISTIEmas · 08/12/2007 10:11

Morning all,
Well, the 2lb that I gained midweek has vanished (breathing sigh of relief emoticon) and I'm back to what I was this time last week .

Going to try to stick to as much free food as possible this week.

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 08/12/2007 11:34

I know if I did it online there'd be no-one to face up to on a monday, so I'd think "oh, just a few biscuits, no-one will know" and fall back into bad habits. But then most people are stronger willed than me, hence why I have such a lot to lose!

My biggest pair of trousers are now too loose to wear after almost two weeks- can't say I mind! Feel like I've not done so well this week because I've had a bit of a cold and been craving toast and biscuity snacky things. I've been trying to keep within the 15 syn limit, but I haven't had as much free food as usual.

Also, I just can't seem to fit in the healthy A options. I have milk in my coffee, sometimes on cereal, but don't eat cheese very often, so have to double up on milk and I never do it.

I'll be impressed if I've lost more than a pound this week.

nikkid21 · 09/12/2007 11:43

I bought my first size 14 dress yesterday. Haven't worn a size 14 since I was 19 - nearly 10 years ago.

May then have blown it as I went to a party last night. Avoided the buffet table but had half a tube of bbq pringles and 4 double gin & slimline tonics

lurcherlass · 09/12/2007 12:46

Ooh Nikkid, you mut've felt like a teenager again! Don't worry about those pringles, they won't have done much harm. Just remember how wonderful you felt in your size 14 !!

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 09/12/2007 20:49

Didn't do so well this weekend- went to stay at my sisters, I took a bag of safe things to eat in case she didn't have anything healthy in, but yesterday my 4 month old ds wasn't well and was screaming hysterically for an nearly two hours, when he finally fell asleep I was so stressed I ate a hifi bar, a fudge bar and a milkybar in the space of five minutes.

Luckily all I'd had to eat all day was a banana, a bowl of shreddies and a quorn curry with boiled rice, so I don't think I went over my 15 syns anyway but it's still bad to eat that way. I don't think I could have stopped myself even if I'd have already had all my syns for the day, I've always binged to cope with stress.

kid · 09/12/2007 21:46

I have had another excellent Sunday, I'm really starting to get the hang of this now. I didn't enjoy my meal today as it was chicken (which is fine) and salad which I really don't enjoy! I treated myself to a chocolate muffin. It was 15 sins for the whole muffin so I cut it in half so only had 7.5 sins!

Weigh in day tomorrow, will see if I've lost anything. 2 people asked today if I have lost weight, made me feel very pleased with myself!

Sparkler · 09/12/2007 21:55

Hi guys. Haven't had chance to catch up with thread. Just wanted to add I lost 1.5lb on Thursday night - that's 12.5lb in total. Almost got that 1 stone sticker. Although saying that we've had a busy weekend with two parties so have eaten and drunk far too much - gotta knuckle down tomorrow. If I can maintain at next weigh in I'll be more than happy. Good luck everyone for this weeks weigh ins. xxx

Kid it really makes you feel good and determined to carry on when people notice doesn't it? I've had a few people ask me recently if I'd lost weight.

kid · 10/12/2007 07:42

1lb loss for me this week. Not much but I'm pleased I lost something, even though I went out for a meal.

me23 · 10/12/2007 10:22

Thanks for your opinions, How much is it to join a class then move to online? To do it totally online it is £20 a month.

I wish I could go to meetings, but my day off is different each week so and the meeting near me only meets once a week. so can't make it!
I really do think slimming world is for me though, I'm veggie and love pasta and rice and loads of the free foods.

I wish there was an evening meeting near me!

bohemianbint · 10/12/2007 14:01

Hello everyone. Not been on for a bit as I've missed the last 2 meetings! I think I've still lost if my scales are to be believed, but I'm not sure how much.

Anyway, here's the thing, I'm going out for curry tonight with friends. What's the best (least damaging) thing I can order as a veggie on green? Any tips very welcome!

bohemianbint · 10/12/2007 14:02

Oops, just read thread and seen kid's very similar post! WIll have a look on the website...

lurcherlass · 10/12/2007 19:11

JamesAndTheGiantBanana- I used to do that too, I used to stuff my face without even tasting what I was shoving down. It was somehow calming and much safer than exploding. Don't feel too bad about it, I admire you immensley for coping with a screaming, poorly baby. I found it incredibly hard when my baby son cried endlessly (as some babies do!). I bet you're a lovely patient Mum.

lurcherlass · 10/12/2007 21:36

I'm getting bored, anyone got some fresh ideas on a green day? I could do with some inspiration. Boredom is my number 1 enemy!!
