Last week was easy, this week was harder because we had a few social events.

I'm following the WW "core plan" which means that I can eat freely from a wide list of foods - fruit, veg, seeds, pulses, lean meat, fish, shellfish, but with very limited dairy, bread and fats. On top of that, you are able to use 21 points a week to top up with things like bread (1.5 points per slice), or any other goodies!

So far, it's going well, but as I've got so much to lose (about 6 stone), it's going to take a very, very long time. I just hope that I can keep it up!

So today was weigh in day? I'll weigh myself then report my loss next week.

I've got a pedometer and am aiming to start doing 5000 steps daily. I had an emergency c-section and have been inactive for the past 7 weeks (and not very active prior to that either!) so am starting gently with buggy walking.

Sorry to hear about your chest infection Tigerfeet. It sounds quite severe.

Littlefish - thats a good weight loss. How long did it take you to lose 9.5lbs?

Has anyone else had a big weight loss too? Need some positive stories!

TigerFeet · 29/11/2007 22:11

A pedometer is a great idea Wintersun - I did have one but I washed it

I lost 2.5 stone before I got married - put it all on and more whilst pg - lost a fair bit (no idea how much) between dd being born and going back to work - put it all back on and more - lost 1.5 stone at the beginning of this year - put it all back on and more (are you spotting the pattern ?)

Wintersun · 29/11/2007 22:26

I washed my pedometer too but thankfully it still worked after it dried out!
I was 8.5 stones when I got married and am nearly 13 now! At 5'3'' its waaaaaay too much! (post 2 kids though, but no more excuses now!)
I have a very cheesy goal - I want to look really good for a hot date with dh by Feb 14th! feel free to throw up .

Wintersun - that 9.5lbs has been in 2 weeks. It's only because I've got such a lot to lose that it's coming off quickly at the moment. It will slow up to an infinitesimal trickle soon, I'm sure.

My goal is that I'm 40 next April and I want to be in the photos, not behind the camera. So, I don't think your goal is cheesy at all. However, just take it one day at a time. Don't tell yourself that you're going to be on a diet/being goog until next Feb. That's a lot of pressure to put on yourself.

Wintersun - you're amongst the heavyweights here; some of us can only dream wistfully of being 13 stone!

OK - this week's scores on the doors:

Agalch: stayed the same (total 37lb)
JackieNo: +0.5 (total 0)
Littlefish: -3lb (total 9.5lb)
LongMeg: -4lb (total 16lb)
TigerFeet: -1lb (total 3lb)

Good week all round, I think ... cakes all round!
