Anyone up for weight loss and body overhaul?

I've had enough of feeling so crap about myself. Have totally let myself go and I'm scared to look in the mirror.

I weighed myself earlier, 11st 10lbs. I'm 5'4 so pretty much barrelesque. Nothing fits, I look truly savage.

I have tons of beauty stuff, unopened just gathering dust. I'm going to start using it all. I have peels, scrubs, moisturisers, you name it, I've got it. Also have hair tongs, hot brushes etc but again, I don't bother with them.

I want to feel a new woman!

Anyone up for joining me?

Me! Similar stats to you also, around 11 stone 6 (haven’t weighed in a bit)and 5 foot 2. I’ve been increasing my activity over the last few weeks but need to get my eating in gear. Also want to up the skin/body care and pull my Lumea out again!

chilvers · 05/04/2021 09:59

@CrystalFlyer get that Lumea out.

I think that every pound shows when you are shorter. It's not a great look for me, I feel much happier under 10stone. My stomach is huge and I have back fat which is new to me.

I’m a shortie as well, have managed to get down to my pre COVID weight by doing the fast 800 but really need to find my mojo for everything else. Hairs a mess, no style, not putting make up on and I’ve also got a Lumea that needs dusting.

Eggsley · 05/04/2021 10:05

Me! I'm 5'4" and 12st 4lbs. I was 12st 12lbs at my heaviest last year, so have lost a bit but seem to have plateaued.

First step is to get under 12st, I'll be happier when the scales say 11st something I think. Ideally would like to get to 10st or thereabouts.

Yesterday I moisturised and Bio Oiled everywhere and today I used a body scrub I haven't used for ages and then moisturised etc again. I need to get into the habit of looking after myself a lot more!

Rupertpenrysmistress · 05/04/2021 10:07

I am in. I started slimming world a few weeks ago as I got to 11 stone 3 and was so disgusted. Nothing fits, I feel awful. Anyway first week of SW was amazing I lost just over 3kgs!! Then I let it all go again 😭.

I am restarting SW tomorrow. Is anyone doing any exercise at all?

chilvers · 05/04/2021 10:09

@Rupertpenrysmistress I will be doing long dog walks everyday for exercise. I started yesterday.

OP posts:
Eggsley · 05/04/2021 10:16

@Rupertpenrysmistress I don't really do anything at the moment but am trying to get 10,000 steps a day. Had a long walk yesterday and planning a long walk today too. I'm off work until Friday so hoping to get out every day.

Reinventinganna · 05/04/2021 10:17

Me please.
I’m 60kg which is big for me, I don’t want to lose lots maybe a stone just to feel less sluggish and more like me.
I am clueless on diets but trying to eat healthily, 30-60 minutes hiit sessions or boxercise on days off and walking at least 10000 steps a day.

ShipshapeShore · 05/04/2021 10:19

I'm in! Similar height and almost 11 stone now, I'd like to be around 9 and a half again as that seems a comfortable weight for me. I don't know if it's achievable as I've not been that weight in a decade, but I'm definitely too pudding shaped right now! I saw my reflection in my phone screen the other day and I noticed a worrying resemblance to Jabba the Hut Grin

I have a friend who has been tempting me with body shop products lately so at least my skin looks OK. I have a rose face mask I want to try later.

We shall all be goddesses by the end of the year.

@ShipshapeShore yes! I like this Grin

Tonight, instead of stuffing my face, I shall battery up my electric foot pedi thingy and have baby soft feet. Will sleep with feet covered in Vaseline and socks.

@chilvers good plan!

I have been on a five mile walk and have just had a McDonald's Blush. However I'd probably have had the McDonald's without the walk so at least I have used up some of the calories. And we probably won't have dinner tonight.

Planning another walk for tomorrow, and an early-ish night tonight.

chilvers · 05/04/2021 15:55

@Eggsley I just got back from a long dog walk. Such a shock to my legs 😁

I actually feel that I have achieved something. Having a little sit down now with a Coke Zero.

I'll join! I keep piling on weight and it's getting ridiculous. Aim is to lose at least 1 stone by the end of June.

Food so far today has been good and just about to exercise.

chilvers · 05/04/2021 16:00

@namechange202086 I've gained two stone since this time last year. I no longer recognise myself. It really is getting ridiculous

OP posts:
Rupertpenrysmistress · 05/04/2021 16:05

I have treated myself today with face mask and general grooming. I am trying to aim for 10,000 steps per day too. Bit of a hangover today so starting diet tomorrow. Need to stop the wine I guess too.

Would love to be a goddess come summer. I am the wrong side of 40 though so am finding it all a bit more difficult.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 05/04/2021 16:10

I'm not trying to lose weight but I'm definitely up for a bit of intensive grooming! 8 months ago I went to a totally paleo diet so my food is pretty impeccable although I would like to drink less alcohol. Dh and I drank far too much last night and I felt grimy and rusty this morning.
I run 100 miles a month (or I did until this week as I have a hip injury and am resting fully until it is resolved, so no running) and I do 3 hiit classes a week which I will continue.

But I really need to tidy myself up. My roots need doing. I desperately need a hair cut. I rarely style my hair now as it's so long, I tie it up almost every day. My feet are Jurassic. Like you op I have all these lovely products and I rarely use them!

I am also really determined to take better care of my teeth, I've been seeing a hygienist during lockdown and they feel so much better. I must make myself floss daily and do a deep clean every few days, plus use my Pearl drops. And yes to the lumea. I gave up on mine but you've reminded me to try again.

And I keep meaning to try a green tinted Primer to reduce redness, can anyone recommend one?

cathyandclare · 05/04/2021 16:12

I'm in. I've gained 10lb in lockdown and have had many false starts. Aiming to lose that by the end of May. I'm going to go back to the gym when they reopen, actually get off my arse and walk a bit and cut back on food ( and wine!)

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 05/04/2021 16:45

I’ll join you! I have already lost 2 stone since January but I still have 1.5 to lose to get back to my pre-children weight. I also have a cupboard full of various beauty products I never use but should as that sort of stuff really helps me feel better about myself. I’ve had a bath and done my nails today, just a neutral colour but feels nice to take care of myself better.

Eggsley · 06/04/2021 13:51

Afternoon all, how is everyone doing?

I've decided to go back to logging my food on MFP as otherwise I eat waaaay too much. I've logged today's breakfast and lunch, and it leaves me 133 calories for dinner unless I do some exercise. Need to work on portion size as well I think!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 06/04/2021 15:32

I ordered a green tinted primer today which ds thought was hilarious but actually has definitely calmed my redness. I have only put the green on seeing as I'm spending the day doing housework! It will look better with my foundation over the top.

I slept really well last night after feeling really tired all day yesterday, and coloured my hair in the afternoon so that's one thing ticked off the list. I have now had nearly 8 days off running to heal my injured hip so I'm hoping that at my outdoor class tonight I can go a few laps round the field to test her out as I am desperate to get back on the road again.

GillBungalow · 06/04/2021 15:43

I'm in!

I want to lose 2st, probably by doing 5:2 and cutting down alcohol. I run two or three times a week, but I want to add in some HIiT and strength training.

For about a week now I've been using my Nuface (bought two years ago and barely used), a Rio 60 second Face Lift toner, and an LED mask. Oh and been retinoling like a maniac so my face is flaking off, which makes me very grateful for COVID masks Grin

(my skin is used to retinol btw before anyone worries)

And I've been upping my supplements, drinking turmeric and ginger tea every morning and chugging water.

So yeah, basically by June 21st I want to be lighter, fitter, healthier on the inside and looking at least ten years younger. What could possibly go wrong?

mermaidsariel · 06/04/2021 15:47

I'm in. 5 foot 3 and 13 stone which is disgraceful. I lost 2 stone 10 years ago and started at 11.9. I thought that was bad enough. It's all gone back on and then some. I thought I was a heffalump back then.
It has dawned on me that I have a gluten and possibly dairy intolerance so am going to try and cut out gluten for a month and start counting calories. Perhaps that will make a difference.

cathyandclare · 07/04/2021 11:47

I've lost 1lb of bloat and booked a hair appt, manicure and pedicure for later this month. Now I just need to get off by lazy butt and stop drinking and I shall join the rest of you goddesses by May!
