Anyone up for weight loss and body overhaul?

I've had enough of feeling so crap about myself. Have totally let myself go and I'm scared to look in the mirror.

I weighed myself earlier, 11st 10lbs. I'm 5'4 so pretty much barrelesque. Nothing fits, I look truly savage.

I have tons of beauty stuff, unopened just gathering dust. I'm going to start using it all. I have peels, scrubs, moisturisers, you name it, I've got it. Also have hair tongs, hot brushes etc but again, I don't bother with them.

I want to feel a new woman!

Anyone up for joining me?

Can I join please! I'm 5ft 4' have been over for way to long. The past 3 weeks I have started walking 5 days a week doing 10,000 steps it takes me about 1hr 30 minutes.
I'm not the fastest but never was even when I was slim. I also do 15 minutes of weights for my arms an do some leg exercises and 40 minutes on my exercise bike.
Have also started to eat better I'm trying to make small changes in the hope that it will come part of my life. I'm hoping I can get into the 10st area as I haven't been able to get past 11st and I end of giving up and stuffing my face 😭😭 want to try break that cycle.
Sw: 11st 7lbs
Cw: 11st 1lbs

I’d love to know what arm exercises you do illlovetea.

RaskolnikovsGarret · 09/04/2021 11:39

Thank you. I’ll join. I’m 5 foot 3 and 49, and have put on two stone during lockdown to 9 stone 10. Mostly on my stomach, back and chest, so look and feel horrendous. I used to be anorexic and 6 stone, and am now a binge-eater and bulimic. I have had some wonderful NHS treatment, but anything depressing sets me off again. I am hoping being amongst normal weight-losers will keep me on track and stop my ED a bit. Peri-menopause is contributing to the lack of weight loss, I think, but in reality it’s because I’m a greedy pig.

I regularly walk 25-30 km a day, and do not lose a pound. My food is the problem - the 80:20 thing.

Thank you - I hope you don’t mind a weirdo in your group. I’ve had several suicide attempts, so being with friendly normal people is tremendously helpful to me. I’ve ignored other weight loss threads, but have finally decided to join one.

Good luck to others as well. I’m sure some of you may have similar struggles, and I know I am not special in any way.

You’re not a weirdo and your current weight sounds normal to me. I am the same height. Welcome!
RaskolnikovsGarret · 09/04/2021 12:24

Thank you. My two sister has been about 7 stone 5 forever, eating as normal, and we both have two children so I can’t use that excuse. So it feels hugely overweight to me.

ilovetea14 · 09/04/2021 13:03

@mermaidsariel I go on to utube and type in XHit arms and just do them 2/3 times a day.

VictoriaBun · 09/04/2021 13:05

I'm in.
Lost a couple of stone in lockdown 1 , gained it in lockdown 2 😢

Fembot123 · 09/04/2021 13:07

I’m joining! I am 5ft 1 and 10’6, I had gotten up to 11’5 but have been doing the 16/8 and really up exercise for about 8 weeks now so going in the right direction.

@mermaidsariel

I'm in. 5 foot 3 and 13 stone which is disgraceful. I lost 2 stone 10 years ago and started at 11.9. I thought that was bad enough. It's all gone back on and then some. I thought I was a heffalump back then. It has dawned on me that I have a gluten and possibly dairy intolerance so am going to try and cut out gluten for a month and start counting calories. Perhaps that will make a difference.
@mermaidsariel I'm 5' 3" and in July last year weighed just over 13 stone. It was finally clear to me that I had an intolerance. I (reluctantly) became gluten free - lord knows why I waited so long! I immediately noticed a difference in how I felt and also over the next few months lost a stone in weight. Spurred on by this, I decided to do dry January. Wow in 2 months I'd lost another stone. So for the last 2 weeks I've been following WW and the weight loss has continued I am also attempting to move a bit more!

So this is a longwinded way of saying don't hesitate to go gluten free it changed my eating habits and made me more aware of what I was eating

muddledmidget · 09/04/2021 20:35

Can I join you? I'm 5'4 and 12st7, and so unhappy with it! I'm determined that this is going to be the year that I end as a healthy BMI but nothing has changed so far...
I have everything that I need, except the motivation to stop putting extra food in my mouth and to get off the sofa to exercise.
So I'm starting WW and I will do my 10k steps everyday

mermaidsariel · 10/04/2021 00:23

@Hepsibar

Wow! That’s great! Well done. Really encouraging.

jellybellybutt · 10/04/2021 01:15

Bit late to the party but I'd love to join you all.

5' 2" and around 17st Blush. So ashamed. I suffer from generally poor health with various issues and as with most people, lockdown hasn't helped. Full time carer to live-in mother, strained marriage, chronic pain and fatigue. All of which have contributed to my comfort eating for England over the past year. I almost hate myself, but don't because I'm aware I've been feeling depressed as well as stressed.

Don't own any make-up, no idea what a lumea is, but will be having hair and nails done in a week so looking forward to that.

Goodness, I sound so cheery, don't I?! Truth be told, I was happy and relieved to see this thread as I think it's exactly what I need. Thanks to OP Flowers

BellaElla99 · 11/04/2021 11:25

Oooo I’m joining this! I’ve lost 3 stone so far and I’ve got 2 stone left to lose! Started at 15 stone and want to get down to 10. I’ve just completely let myself go since having two children. I refuse to go out with friends, won’t let anyone take my picture, have absolutely no confidence at all and I just don’t want to feel like this anymore. I’ve given myself a June deadline and I’ve been saving money to do a whole new shop, get my hair done, get a facial and get my first ever wax!

Is everyone excited?

mermaidsariel · 11/04/2021 11:28

@BellaElla99

Well done! How did you do it?

BellaElla99 · 11/04/2021 11:33

@mermaidsariel , thank you! well I’ve done slimming world on and off for 5 years so I used the basic principles from that (avoiding all the muller lights and not using my syns on chocolate etc) combined with calorie counting. I really suffered with binge eating before and I’d start a diet and then have a massive binge on the weekends so I now allow myself to have one ‘treat’ that I buy on a Friday ( a chocolate bar, a can of coke) and then Saturday I have a healthy ‘treat’ breakfast so eggs, smoked salmon etc instead of cereal. I don’t buy any take away meals because I’m saving that money that I used to spend on takeaways so I can do a massive shop and get some new skin products!

RunningKatie · 11/04/2021 19:43

Can I join please? I tried to start in Feb then March, now it's April and I'm 1 or 2lbs down with about 3 stone to go.
I've downloaded mfp and am realising I need to give up alcohol for the time being. I was only drinking a bottle of wine a week but still, between that and my love of sweet treats most of my summer clothes do not fit.
I walk 10000 steps a day at least but am hoping to swim too once it's possible.
Going to start logging on mfp from tomorrow.

ilovetea14 · 12/04/2021 12:26

Hi hope everyone had a nice weekend. Im going into week 4 of moving more and eating better.
I've noticed the tops of my arms are slimmer I really think the arm workouts are making a difference.
I got up early this morning to do my arms with weights, did my 10,000 steps and 45 minutes on my exercise bike. I met my sister over the weekend social distancing of course and she said my back was slimmer 😁 I just need to keep going.
