I don't need to lose a massive amount of weight but ideally would like to be half a stone lighter I'm 10.7 at the minute and would be almost in heaven if I could get down to 10st exactly!

I'm going to start on Monday and I am going to lose 7lb by Friday 14th December..

Would anybody else like to join me.. or just come here and abuse me to keep me on track?

Hi all,

9st, 1 and a half lbs!

That's a loss of 1 and a half lbs since weigh in on Monday. I'm hungry though! Yesterday I only had a boiled egg and two WW toasts. A 99cal packet of crisps and a WW chocolate eclair. Haven't had anything today as I'm aware there'll probably be food at the party and to be honest if I did eat anything now I don't think I'd stop!

I know eating so little for a few days isn't the best way to lose weight and the loss is more fluid than fat but it's confidence boosting to see the lower figures on the scales. Just out of interest I'll go on the scales again tomorrow. No doubt I'll be 2lbs heavier!

I have exercised LOADS this week and it wasn't as much of a chore as I thought it would be so I'm going to keep that up (famous last words!). I went Christmas shopping a couple of times and walked and walked pushing a heavy buggy so that probably helped too.

So, just to re-cap...

Start weight ~ 9st 6 and a half lbs.
Height ~ 5'4".
Current weight ~ 9st 1 and a half lbs.
Total loss ~ 5lbs.

My dream weight is 8st 7lbs. The lowest I've been since I had my son (He'll be 2 in March) is 8st 9lbs but I'm happy as long as I hover under the 9st mark as that keeps me at a size 10.

Mascara ~ I'm really sorry things didn't go according to plan. Don't give up! Maybe this just wasn't the right time for you. Just before Christmas can be quite hectic and adding a diet and exercise plan into an already busy schedule isn't ideal as you can't give it your all. Perhaps you could have another go in Jan as lots of people try to lose a bit of weight then. You could pair up with a friend and encourage each other to get out to gym or shop together so neither lets the other go mad in the chocolate aisle. I'm going to carry on posting on this thread as I still want to drop a few lbs so stick around and we can encourage each other.

OneFootInTheGravy ~ That's excellent news! Very well done.

How did everyone else do on the scales today?

suzywong · 14/12/2007 13:54

No good results yet, girls and I don't know whether in this festive season I can improve. Too many temtations, I'm afraid. I'm very good with shop bought cakes and crisps having none but I can't resist chocolate with nuts (milk chocolate, I'm afraid as i don't fancy dark chockies) or some home made cakes or buiscuits. I'll try my best though although my best is probably not good enough. My plan is to do my best now and my very best after Chrismas and the new Year celebrations when kids are back to school and I'll go back to my soups.

ELR · 15/12/2007 08:48

fedda · 15/12/2007 15:16

Congratulations, ELR! It is possible to loose weight even during Christmas as it's lots to do!

Amandoh · 15/12/2007 16:01

Hi all,

I've managed to put on 3lbs in 24hrs!! That must be some sort of record. I was 9st 1 & a half lbs yesterday but today I'm 9st 4 & a half lbs.

I didn't go too mad at the party last night but ordered a takeaway from our local Indian restaurant last night when we got home and then raided a box of chocolates that I'd bought to give away as a Christmas present.

Anyway, I haven't eaten anything today as I don't feel hungry which isn't surprising really considering how much I ate late last night! If hunger does kick in later I plan to have some scrambled eggs and WW toast as I probably consumed three days worth of points yesterday.

What do you all plan to do as far as diets go over the Christmas period? Are you going to watch what you eat or go mad then start the diet again in January?

ELR ~ Well done on your loss! How much weight are you hoping to lose in total?

SuzyWong ~ Hi and welcome to the board. Could you put lower wattage bulbs in that light? Far kinder on the reflection .

Fedda ~ Don't lose heart! I find it really hard to resist all the Christmas goodies too so you're not alone.

fedda · 15/12/2007 17:36

Thank you, Amandoh. I'll try not to. If we can't do well with our eight now we just have to try harder in the New Year.

Amandoh · 17/12/2007 13:40

Hi Everyone,

This morning I was 9st 3lbs. Had a big roast dinner yesterday followed by mince pies (Yes, pies plural!) all washed down with several glasses of wine so I wasn't expecting great things this morning.

Must drop a couple of lbs by next Sunday!!

How are the rest of you doing?

sweetheart · 17/12/2007 14:09

Hey all - so how many of us are desperatly trying NOT to start indulging in xmas food yet! Ummm, ME!!!!!

Well by Friday I had dropped another 1Ib so that brought my total to 4 which I thought was quite good.

I have had a terrible weekend, lots of naughty food and booze! So, until Friday I am trying to be very very good so that I don't do too much damage. I have another xmas do on Friday and then I think I will just let go to be honest. I've dieted all year - time to enjoy

fedda · 17/12/2007 18:55

I'm really happy for everybody whpo is so strong and winning the battle with attractions of food. I've lost mine so far as I've just recently discovered how much I love fudge! I thought I didn't but I do, I do, I do! Oh, dear. And I loce chocolate with nuts! And I've stopped Joanna Hall no carbs after 5 diet. And I'm overeating! And I put on weight! please, don't tell me that I should leave your thread as I'm a bad influence! I'm really sorry, girls. Will you forgive me? I need your support. I'll try to be good in the New Year, I promise!

fedda · 25/12/2007 22:07

Merry Christmas!

Amandoh · 26/12/2007 14:27

Hey Fedda,

Merry Christmas to you too!

Hope you all enjoyed Christmas day yesterday and didn't let the few extra lbs we're all trying to shift stop you eating your own body weight in turkey and mince pies! Boy was I stuffed by bedtime!

Went on the scales this morning ( Was feeling brave ) and am back up to 9st 5lbs. Anyway, now that Christmas is over I'm going to get back on track. A friend of mine is getting married this year and wants to drop a couple of dress sizes so I'm going to be nagging her to come to the gym with me. I really want to try a Pilates class. Have any of you been? If so, what do you wear?

fedda · 26/12/2007 18:04

Hey, Amandoh, I had a lot of food yesterday and today and it's not over yet as our house is full of visitors and that doesn't help slimming. I'll have to try hard after kids are back at school.
