DS will be 9 months this week.

During pregnancy I gained 3.5st. I lost 19lbs within 10 days of giving birth. I lost a further stone by doing keto. THEN... I moved house and the diet went out of the window.

I was high end of healthy BMI prior to pregnancy (around 7lbs heavier than I'd like to have been). Weighed myself this morning and I've gained the stone back that I lost doing keto (I blame lockdown).

Anyway, I've worked out that if I start today and manage to lose 2lbs a week then I can be back to my pre-pregnancy weight by the week of DS's first birthday.

I'm back to work now so between that looking after DS I don't have much time or energy for exercise so I'm planning on just doing more weekend walks (weather permitting) and changing my diet.

I don't want to do keto again. Although it's effective, it isn't sustainable for me. I was considering intermittent fasting and introducing more veg, cutting out the nightly bar of chocolate, etc.

I'm good during the day but come 7.30pm when DS is in bed and I'm knackered, all I want to do is slob on the couch and eat 🙈

Anyone else looking to get in shape for summer and fancy joining me for some mutual support and accountability?

Thank you. I don't think my clothes are much looser so probably a little from column a, a lot from column b.

How's everyone getting on? I've not had the best week, I'm not going to lie. Not feeling confident about stepping on the scales on Monday. DH has been WFH but had to attend a rare site visit yesterday. He had to leave early and knew I'd struggle to grab breakfast between changing, feeding and entertaining our baby so ordered a McDs breakfast to be delivered for me (without telling me) - Bacon and egg McMuffin, hash brown and a latte! Thankfully DS had just gone down for a nap when it arrived so I managed to eat it in peace. I have no regrets 😂

That actually sounds great @HardcoreParkour , you should have no regrets! We're aiming for progress, not perfection, right? I bloody hope so anyway.......

I'm not confident of standing on the scales on Monday either, a couple of bad days where emotions had me stuffing food in my mouth when it was definitely not actually required. Have reigned it in the last couple of days so will be happy if I manage to maintain this week.

Hod19 · 27/03/2021 21:41

Not too bad a week here. My cycle has been totally off and I was 8 days late so my hormones have been a nightmare and snacking has been bad but have at least gone for healthier snacks.
Hoping for 1lb this week. Lots of walking and think I'll do yoga tomorrow when DS naps.

HardcoreParkour · 28/03/2021 16:24

@Sharonthecat Progress not Perfection is exactly right 👍🏼 and maintaining is not to be sniffed at! As long as I don't see the numbers creeping up I'll be happy. A couple of good days and a couple of not so good days are better than a full on, week long blow out.

@Hod19 sounds like you're having a pretty good week to me - exercise and healthier choices, that's what I'm aim for (and failing at). It's been feast or famine for me 🙈

Sharonthecat · 29/03/2021 07:02

I'm down 1lb Smile Very happy with that as it was a mixed week - awful at the beginning and then starting to get a bit of a rhythm with healthy choices by the end. Hopefully that will continue this week. How's everyone else done?

JM10 · 29/03/2021 07:59

I'm down 1.5lbs and not stuck to diet as well as I should have so I'm very happy with that

Hod19 · 29/03/2021 08:19

I'm down 1lb too. I'll defo take that. Now to try to have a healthy week before eating my toddler's Easter eggs on Sunday!

HardcoreParkour · 29/03/2021 13:56

I'm down 1lb too 👌

Well done everyone, we're heading in the right direction!

What's on the menu for tonight?

OP posts:
Sharonthecat · 29/03/2021 14:49

Hooray! Well done everyone!

@HardcoreParkour we have a Gousto box arriving today, so it's a neat free lasagne here - I'll add salad instead of chips and bread.............

JM10 · 29/03/2021 22:45

We had sweet and sour tofu with vegetables and noodles. My favourite.
I was really hungry this morning and nearly caved on my 16:8, which I've only just restarted after not sticking to it well last week. I pushed through to my eating time though and then I actually wasn'tvery hungry today once I had my first food.

HardcoreParkour · 05/04/2021 07:35

Good Morning All!

Hope you had a good weekend 🐣🥚

The scales are telling me I've GAINED 2lbs this week 😒

I weighted myself yesterday and was the same as last week so these pounds have crept on overnight (probably thanks to my lack of water intake and excessive chocolate consumption) 🙈

I'm determined to get them off for next week! Time to start taking this a bit more seriously on my part.

How did everyone else get on?

OP posts:
Sharonthecat · 05/04/2021 09:01

Morning @HardcoreParkour .

Guess what? I'm also 2lbs on, so 10st 8lbs. I'm pissed off because I really tried to eat better this week! I'll keep it up and hope the gain is partly hormonal. I'm on annual leave this week, so will be taking some time to look a bit more closely at my habits. I'm trying to accept that I need to start some proper exercise too, I just need to work out where the hell to fit it in 😫.

JM10 · 05/04/2021 09:24

Stayed the same. although thanks to mid week weighing I know I actually lost and regains 2lbs. However, I drank a fair amount 2 nights, had a takeaway, had dessert twice and a buffet for Easter yesterday so I'm ok with that.

Sharonthecat · 06/04/2021 18:15

I've now signed up to My Fitness Pal and have started logging today. I'll hopefully see a loss on Monday!
I must admit, I've logged my meals for today and can already see where I've been going wrong. Basically, I've been eating too much 😂, which sounds simple, but apparently isn't to me.............

HardcoreParkour · 06/04/2021 19:55

@Sharonthecat MyFitnessPal is a really good tool for making you accountable for what you've had and putting it into perspective just how many unnecessary calories you consume 👍🏼

I always set my daily calorie allowance a little under what it actually was which ensured I stuck to it (most of the time).

OP posts:
Sharonthecat · 07/04/2021 19:51

Magically I had lost 2lbs this morning, after one days counting. I suspect that my earlier gain was hormonal/water. I'll see what the rest of the week brings.....

Also, I am hungry Confused

JM10 · 12/04/2021 09:42

I haven't weighed today, because saturday morning I weighed and had put on 3lbs and I couldn't face it today. I know I did really badly last week though and am determined to do better this week. I've started my day with a few mile hike.

Sharonthecat · 12/04/2021 12:33

New week, new start @JM10.

I was 10st 6lbs this morning, so still only down 1lb in total since starting, but feel more positive that I'm starting to get somewhere now. Onwards and upwards x

HardcoreParkour · 24/04/2021 11:34

Morning all!

I weighed myself on Monday and had put on another 2lbs 😖 It was the kick up the arse I needed!

Since Monday, I've cut out ALL snacks, avoided complex carbs and swapped milky coffee for peppermint tea (still allowing myself 1 coffee a day).

Weighed myself this morning (5 days in) and I've lost 6.2lbs 🤩granted, a lot of that will be water weight due to the reduction in carbs but it still motivates me to see such a big loss 😃 so, after all of that I'm only 1lb down on my original starting weight 😂

Keep going everyone, we'll get there!

OP posts:
Hod19 · 04/05/2021 17:19

Hi all, sorry have been a bit absent! Diet went on hold as was poorly but back on it for last couple of weeks and have lost 4lbs so far. Determined this time! Fridge is full of fruit and veg and I've cut out all snacks and cut down on carbs too.
How's everyone getting on?

gerbilfur · 04/05/2021 17:22

Until 13 weeks. Then I just felt like vomiting until 30 weeks. Then I had heartburn which made me vomit until he was born. It was a riot 🤢🤬 I feel your pain
