DS will be 9 months this week.

During pregnancy I gained 3.5st. I lost 19lbs within 10 days of giving birth. I lost a further stone by doing keto. THEN... I moved house and the diet went out of the window.

I was high end of healthy BMI prior to pregnancy (around 7lbs heavier than I'd like to have been). Weighed myself this morning and I've gained the stone back that I lost doing keto (I blame lockdown).

Anyway, I've worked out that if I start today and manage to lose 2lbs a week then I can be back to my pre-pregnancy weight by the week of DS's first birthday.

I'm back to work now so between that looking after DS I don't have much time or energy for exercise so I'm planning on just doing more weekend walks (weather permitting) and changing my diet.

I don't want to do keto again. Although it's effective, it isn't sustainable for me. I was considering intermittent fasting and introducing more veg, cutting out the nightly bar of chocolate, etc.

I'm good during the day but come 7.30pm when DS is in bed and I'm knackered, all I want to do is slob on the couch and eat 🙈

Anyone else looking to get in shape for summer and fancy joining me for some mutual support and accountability?

Definitely feeling more able to stick with it today knowing I have some accountability here ☺️
The danger hour hasn't arrived yet though

Hod19 · 15/03/2021 19:14

So we ended up with lots of treats left over from mother's day (DH did afternoon tea for me and bought enough cake to feed probably 6 people lol). Anyway I indulged again today and starting tomorrow. I'm cutting out all sweets, chocolate, biscuits and cake, increasing water intake and going to get back on my yoga 🤞 definitely feels positive knowing I'm going to update you guys, bit of accountability 🙂

Oooooh, we've got ourselves a wee chub club going (no offence meant, it's just what I called the Rosemary Conley class when I went years ago).

Well ladies, I weighed myself this morning and I'm 12st 13lbs! My ultimate goal is 10st 7lbs. I'm 5'7 and 'hippy' so any lighter and I start to look scrawny.

I haven't ate a single thing today! Not by choice, just been busy. Not had my tea yet as just got DS down so will try to ignore the Ferrero Rocher that are calling me from the cupboard and find something more waistline friendly to eat.

Hope no-one is climbing the walls yet... the first 2/3 days are always the hardest for me!

I've eaten well, fit a slice of cake into my calories for the day, drunk loads of water and just done a very sweaty leg workout. Now just to maintain this focus long term! I normally manage a week and the revert.

Hod19 · 15/03/2021 21:28

I'm 11st 2 and want to get back down to my pre baby weight of 10st ideally but I'd settle for 10st 4.
We can do this!! 🙌

bingsulaflop · 15/03/2021 21:47

Could I please join?

I've been on and off with SW for years and the "mentality" part is just creeping in that I cannot look at a banana the same way again 🤣
Oddly enough my goal weight is the weight I was after I had my little boy, I felt comfortable and a healthy size 12.

I'm unsure what to do as yet but healthier eating, drinking loads more water and moving more on my days off are a must!

It's so weird to think the simplest of things seem the hardest.
I have my partners 30th coming up and already thinking what a delicious treat having cake etc, usually on SW I would have said f* it to the diet and pigged out until his birthday Hmm but now I don't feel like that (I feel like a normal person with normal thoughts iyswim?!)

Anyways good luck everyone!! Grin

Day 2 and I have mostly been eating eggs......

Hod19 · 16/03/2021 18:14

@sharonthecat chocolate eggs??

I've not snacked today just stuck to my meals & took my DS for a walk after work so not too bad!

JM10 · 16/03/2021 18:44

I've had another good day, but harder than yesterday. I think because I did a fair amount of exercise yesterday along with sticking to 1200 calories, so I'm hungry.

HardcoreParkour · 16/03/2021 19:11

Sounds like everyone is doing well 👍🏼 I've had another busy day so must have burned a few calories - lots of walking and climbing stairs. I skipped breakfast and had cream cheese on wholemeal toast for lunch. Having roast chicken and sweet potato fries for tea!

Still failing on the water front though, I've had 5 coffees and a cup of tea today. MUST do better tomorrow!

@Hod19 I can confirm that chocolate eggs may have been involved in a snaccident this evening.

Other than that I've been pretty good, could also try harder with water.

Hod19 · 17/03/2021 10:57

@sharonthecat I'd have been disappointed if they weren't 🤣

inkysplatter · 18/03/2021 10:06

After a virtuous Monday I fell do the wagon a bit, there were Covid test on the children, a poo accident on the walk home, a hello fresh freebie box I'd forgotten about and definitely not enough water.

I have stuck to my original plan but I think it could have gone a lot worse. Both kids out today so won't have to be a relentless snack machine for a few hours, which always helps.

HardcoreParkour · 19/03/2021 09:14

@inkysplatter as long as you didn't stuff your face with cake and chips then I'd say that's a win!

I'll admit, my meal choices past Monday haven't been the best. However, aside from one lapse in willpower, I haven't snacked at all which I'm proud of. To quote Tesco, 'Every little helps'.

OP posts:
Sharonthecat · 19/03/2021 11:22

I've managed to be fairly good, walking a lot and keeping breakfast and lunch healthy. I'm still having a snack in the evening though. Will see what the scales say on Monday!

JM10 · 21/03/2021 09:38

I've had a bit of a bad week. I did really good Monday, stuck to my calories, worked out and went for a long walk. Managed to do fairly well through Tuesday then go a migraine that lingered for days and I ate more because I was feeling ill. I have stayed the same weight, so unless there is a miraculous drop tomorrow it's an unsuccessful first week ☹️

HardcoreParkour · 21/03/2021 14:00

@JM10 you haven't gained, that's the main thing! Tomorrow is the start of a new week. Hope your migraine has lifted and you're feeling better.

You know, you're right and I read your post at just the right time. I was about to write off the rest of the week and eat sweets and chocolates watching a film with the children. Reading this made me decide to go for carrot sticks instead. Thanks!

JM10 · 22/03/2021 09:02

As I said yesterday, I've stayed the same. I think this week I'm going to focus on the diet and water and walking, not add in the harder workouts. It's a shame because I enjoy them, but I struggle to get my calorie intake right when I'm exercing so much and then I get ill and it ruins the week for me.

HardcoreParkour · 22/03/2021 09:39

I stayed the same too, exactly the same... to the ounce! AF showed up over the weekend so I'll have to make an extra effort to watch my food intake this week.

OP posts:
Sharonthecat · 22/03/2021 11:42

I also stayed the same!

A bit disappointed as I did LOADS of walking, but I clearly just need to be more careful with food. And water. I need to drink the bloody water! How is it so hard?! Grin

inkysplatter · 22/03/2021 13:34

I find I am terrible with water because I have an overactive bladder (I know drinking water is meant to help but) I just find life easier if I don't drink much at all

inkysplatter · 22/03/2021 13:36

The virtues of having ibs and dodgy scales and a wonky floor means I have apparently lost 5lbs this week despite numerous chocolate egg shaped snackcidents. I think the starting weight last week was wrong though but whatevs- a loss is a loss!

Sharonthecat · 22/03/2021 15:03

That's fantastic @inkysplatter , well done. I'm sure it was your hard work rather than wonky floor scales!
