Hi susie,

your friend sounds like a good cook. Love the sound of her roasted veg - dh wouldn't eat any of that.

Now, you may all think that I am one of the disciplined ones, but that is because I only post on good days. Today was not one of them...

Breakfast - special K and milk, coffee
Brunch with ds2 - bacon roll
Lunch - roast chicken, roast pots, carrots, brocolli, gravy
Pudding - plum crumble (does that count as one of my 5 a day?)
Chocolate while tidying kitchen
Trip to cafe nero on way to park - americano with milk
Tea - soup I made the other day with chicken, ginger, spinach, pumpkin, leeks. Leftover braised red cabbage from last night. More plum cumble (on the basis that if I eat it all it won't be there to tempt me)
Mint tea

At least I haven't joined dh who had leftover curry and a glass of wine for his tea

spottyshoes · 25/11/2007 21:26

Good to hear you are not always so saintly Tangerine! You put us to shame usually! And yes I'm sure its part of your 5

Susie, sorry to hear Isobel is still unwell, it'll be made harder on you as dh has gone again no doubt. Chin up luv.

You have my sympathy re moving, we move on Friday!!!!! Must start packing a bit soon

spottyshoes · 25/11/2007 21:27

Lost a bit pf grammar in that sentence, hope you got the drift!

pollywollybauble · 25/11/2007 22:52

evening all
had a bit of a busy RL weekend (how very dare i?) dds birthday party ciruit has started with a vengeance! plus me and dh went out last night and i went to see american gangster today (it's a social whirl i tell you...)

mylittlepudding, thanks for the hug. hope your nephew is back home now

welcome back spottyshoes (remind me not to go to centre parcs! Was the other woman no company? Only a pound and a spot is good going.....liked the way you tried to hide those yorkies!

Hi Tangerine...nice to know you're not completely perfect!!

Glad you've been having a good weekend with mr c. hope isobel doesn't get as poorly as last time..

Hello Katyb, carnival, diva (and anyone else who knows me....)

saturday
brunch...cheese and cauli soup and wholemeal bread

eve......poppadom,piece of pakora, spinach and mushroom balti and half a naan and half of bitter

today
brekkie...toast and marmite
lunch out...a veggie burger and a cappuccino seemed the best option
eve...mushroom, cheese and lentil loaf, 2 roast potatoes, mash, carrots, peas and onion gravy

now...if no-one minds i am moving my weigh ins to tuesdays!

pollywollybauble · 25/11/2007 22:54

ps susiec and spottyshoes...don't do what i did and forget all about the attic until the eve before the move....

spottyshoes · 25/11/2007 23:08

You social goddess you! Hope dd's enjoying all the parties.

No, the lass is lovely, we did a few things together but she was in another chalet and had kids to look after too while her hubby boozed with mine

Luckily I dont have to worry about the attic - we are just moving out for a few months whilst our house is ripped apart, the only floor that doesnt need re-building is the attic so we can leave the junk up there thank goodness!

I'm stumped on another Polly food - Whats Pakora?

pollywollybauble · 26/11/2007 00:59

dd is loving parties this year...it's amazing how well running around, eating something and chips and being taught by a monkey to do the cha-cha slide all goes down...all i can say is that she has learnt something from watching come dancing!

don't envy you having your house gutted...are you going to be nearby?

pakora is a bit like vegetable bhaji and comes with a bright red sauce whch is probably the adult equivalent of a fruit shoot

must go to bed now....

pollywollybauble · 26/11/2007 11:15

come out, come out wherever you are!

am putting off weighing until tommorrow...feel like a balloon today!

spottyshoes · 26/11/2007 19:19

Evening Polly, Yep we are going about 3 miles away to a house much more fantastic and massive and it's out in the countryside, i'm not going to want to come back!

Luckily NHBC are footing the bill as ours is a new house that was built shoddily by cowboys and they have paid for a superduper removals service where they come in and pack everything for you A far cry from when we moved here as we hired a van and moved everything ourselves in about 10 runs However Im a bit of a prude so am packing my knicks and stuff myself (not to mention at chewingum white undies) anyway shouldnt ramble.....

Those parties sound like more fun than the ones I go to

Pakora sounds rather lish and something I might have to try Good luck on your weigh in tmrw.

Brekkie: Just right, activia yog, bit of mango
Lunch: veggie pasta & salad
Dinner: Morrocan Lamb Casserole with spicy couscous & veg

Hope everyone is ok this evening. x

tangarine · 26/11/2007 19:37

Hello everyone,

Just popping in quickly to say hello.

Breakfast: special K and milk, coffee
Mid-morning: coffee and banana
Lunch: roast veg ratatouille and an apple
Dinner: left over lamb casserole and braised red cabbage
Plum crumble - on the basis that spottyshoes confirmed it's one of my five a day
4 squares dark chocolate - ds2 has been in flods of tears all evening because dh was at work and ds2 was quite naughty at the weekend and got told off . So he decded dh didn't love him anymore. Then started to cry even more because he wants me not to go to work as he's the only one of his friends who doesn't go home from school with their Mummy and he has to wait until 6 o'clock to see me . Dh is settling him down now.

Am off for a (very) early night as I have been sleeping really badly.

spottyshoes · 26/11/2007 19:45

plum crumble. I make cakes with fruit in for the same reasons

Oh bless your ds, that nearly made me cry - bit hormonal/emotional at the mo! I am feeling really guilty at having to go back to work and have visions of babyshoes doing the same in the future I hope he feels a bit happier soon.

Have a good sleep.
x

tangarine · 26/11/2007 20:05

Thank you. He made me want to cry too. Ds1 has never bothered about me working f/t, but ds2 is a sensitive little soul.

The other joy of older children is that I have to convert a pillow case into a costume to make him look like a present for the nativity play on 19 December. I haven't yet plucked up the courage to tell him that I won't be at it as I'll be travelling back from my godmother's 60th birthday bash in Scotland that day. Dh will be going to the nativity play so at least one of us will be there.

Have got sucked into watching University Challenge with dh...will then go to bed.

spottyshoes · 26/11/2007 20:17

Again, bless! How old are they? I'm sure that he will be so buzzed after performing that he wont be too upset if you're not there, and will just want to tell your dh all about it.

The pillow case sounds tricky, I'd go for a large box and decorate it and cut head/arm holes out. I only say that as I have just been to tesco's and begged a few free boxes to pack stuff in and think they could look pretty 'presenty'. My SS actually wants us to make him into a robot with one

katybump · 26/11/2007 21:14

evening lovely ladies
had an ok day food wise ,lot's of tangerines mmmmmmmm
bit busy at the moment with rl shit stuff so will be back in the morning .take care

pollywollybauble · 26/11/2007 21:35

evening all,
well spottyshoes , i've never met anyone who has actually managed to claim off the NHBC before. Go girl!
nice not to have to do the packing....like you i moved once and did my own....in a mini! (obviously i didn't have much furniture......)

when are you due back at work? how old will babyshoes be?

Hi katyb catch you tomorrow

Big hug to you and to DS2....it's a horrible feeling isn't it...sleep well

well have been hungry today
brekkie....muesli
mids cappuccino, toast and marmite
lunch.....smoked haddock chowder, wholemeal bread (medium sliced but 3 slices made into toast with butter alike), crisps
mids cappuccino, shortbread biscuit
eve....mushroom,lentil and cheese loaf, 3 roast taters, carrots peas, mash, onion gravy....oh and a satsuma!

(BTW susie if there had been magnums/cake in the house i would have scoffed the lot!)

i don't hold out much hope for tomorrow's weigh in

susiecutiemincepies · 26/11/2007 22:18

evening all

I'm really really worrying about the move now. As I cannot do any of it, i'm feelign guilty about having to ask everyone for help, and worrying about how its all going to be put away down stairs... At least its not a big move in distance, but, it is in terms of the aomunt of stuff i've got to pack!

All of it has to be done at weekends too... i'm panicking big time. PLUS, downstairs is no where NEAR ready... they've not been working on it for nearly 2 weeks. Needs serious decorating, sorting out, tidying, everything really.. oh, and 2 new toilets and showers as the last person took them with her!

not weighed yet... i think i did it on wednesday or thrsday last week...
Isobel is still not good. Went to GP today. Her chest is not as bad as last time, but he was very clear about taking her straight back or into A&E if she starts to wheeze at all. just frustrating nothing can be done about it. except calpol for the temp...

Anyway... Food!!
Break: Apple and banana and mandarin.
Lunch: erm... forgot!
tea: Chicken stew with carrots, tomato, mushrooms and not sure what else ( mum cooked it)
snacks:
Half a bag of salt and vinegar chipsticks
Melon
couple of white choc buttons.

I feel really fat and cumbersome and uncomfortable.

Polly, magnums are still on the freezer !! and ther was a banana cake which DH and DD ate most of yesterday... i had a little bit this morning. freshly baked yesterday, was divine.

good luck on the scales girls

susiecutiemincepies · 26/11/2007 22:22

the woman downstairs didnt take the toilets...just the showers!

sorry, i didnt ask you all how you were.. got carried away, thinking bout the move... so sorry.

hope you are all well? Spotty, you lucky devil, wish i could pay someone to pack and move me

or, can I ??? hmmmm.....

spottyshoes · 26/11/2007 23:02

Mmmm Polly I want chowder now! Lurrrvly!

I think i'm making up for all the refused claims as the house is being rebuilt - all 3 floors. Only the outside walls and roof/loft will remain it is that shit! Getting a full re-dec, re-tile, kitchen, bathrooms x 3 on them too. I wish they would just buy us off so we could go & buy a decent place somewhere else. DONT BUY PERSIMON HOMES (Go on lads, sue me for that - i dare ya!)

I'm not going back to work for another 4.5 months, In April, the day after B's 1st birthday but I just dont want to, hate my job, hate the thought of leaving him. I know its really sad but ever since he has been born I've been thinking X months now until I have to go back. It's been a black cloud over my year off with him. We want more children with a fairly small age gap between them so I have even considered having #2 a bit early. How bad is that!!??

spottyshoes · 26/11/2007 23:03

Check me out spilling all my personal crap tonight - what's that all about???!!!

mylittlepudding · 27/11/2007 06:48

Hi everyone,

Been having a crazy RL time here too. And am off to my mum's for a couple of nights tomorrow - 4 hour train journey with an 11 month old, great

I was a 0 this week - could have been worse I suppose.

katybump · 27/11/2007 09:00

susiecutie...don't worry about the housemove.you do the organising and let other people do the heavy work.make lists of things that need to be done and tick them off as you go.it's stressfull but it''l be worth it for you all in the end
oh and you are NOT fat and cumbersome ,you are an amazing woman and a great mummy ra ra ra

spottyshoes...i really feel for you re work.i have the same black cloud.they were so awful to me at work while i was pregnant i started my maternity leave asap.upshot is i have now had my final wage so will not be getting paid at xmas.i'm having sleepness nights about returning.love my job but hate my bossi'm due back at the end of feb,but have to let them know by xmas if i am going back or not.

mylittlepudding...see you when you get back x

tangerine....i agree plum crumble is afruit.as is lemon cake, strawberry cheesecake and all the orange and strawberry chocolates out of quality street

pollywollybauble...have you weighed yet?

spottyshoes · 27/11/2007 09:56

Thats exactly it with me too Katy. Its my bosses that are the problem (dont really mind the work itself) and I also had issues whilst pg. So much so that I had a meeting with my union rep . I will be getting my last pay in Jan so have 3 months without . Would love to find another job but would really struggle for the same pay

Oh well, must call the removals guys in from their half hour fag break - so glad i'm not paying them but it's going to be a long day

katybump · 27/11/2007 12:04

spottyshoes i lodged a complaint against my manager indirectly but was told if i took it further it would be impossible for me to work there.in hindsight i wish i had done and then taken them to court.i was so tired of crying myself to sleep everynight that i just kept my mouth shut and left asap.if dh wasn't self employed and had a regular income i would have probably been braver but to be honest i needed my maternity pay and the thought of months with no money while it went to court wasn't good.i also know that i would need witnesses to their behaviour and no-one would stand up for me as then they would get the same treatment.shocking but true!
anyway good luck with the removal men.tell them you'll set the chocolate starved, diet crazy katybumpers on them if they don't get their arses in gear

susiecutiemincepies · 27/11/2007 13:14

I didnt read it right befire spotty, didnt realise you were moving this week!

Good luck with it... hope all the work gets done ok too. Cna you put it on the market after the work is done and maybe move instead?

I am going ot start on my lists this weekend with DH. Its just hte idea of not being able to do anyhitng myself, and also ,I'm not good at asking anyone for help anyway, so think i'll be crap at directing it all. Dont want to sound like a bossy cow...

I'm not wieghing this week, i know i've not lost any so will do it next week, and not dread it.

You both have my every sympathy with the work issues... I really feel for you having to go back.

As for my job, I'd love to be able to do it. I miss it terribly but also cannot bare the thought of leaving Isobel and going ot work... I guess the fact i dont have to think about it is a huge weight off my mind.

Whilst i love it, and would like to go back, I dont want to yet... I hate my ward though. Had huge probs with various management. So not looking forward to that if its where i end up going to.

I think i'll be moved back into NNU as its les physically demanding on backs and hips so that will not be so bad... if it ever happens. I reckon for me its the idea that the descicion may not be mine? ISWIM? It would be ok if I decide not to go back, but as its because of my health, it feels really horrible...

pollywollybauble · 27/11/2007 13:27

well, as soon as i go off mn you come on ...huh!

katy and spotty, I didn't actually go back to work after having dd (my ms had deteriorated and i was put on sick leave for a year then told that i wasn't fit to go back and took ill health retirement)...but i well remember that feeling of not wanting to go back(and i mostly liked my job and colleagues and had arranged part time hours etc)arranging childcare was the thing that bought me up short....and i kept putting it off...luckily we did find a place that she took to and she went there for about 6 months (selfish as it is it gave me a few hours break)...what have you sorted out?

i don't envy you planning a return to an unpleasant work situation in the midst of of all that upheaval.....how long do you have to go back to work for before you don't have to repay your mat benefits....could you look for another job?

susiec i'd take katy's advice and make lots of lists and delegate! it's hard to think straight with so much going on and a poorly bub. you can pay people to do it if it is neccessary....do you receive any kind of DLA/other benefit...could you claim money for help with moving? might be worth asking......and ra, ra, ra! you are doing as much as you possibly can.....get that dh of yours to take a bit of time off and help!

anyway.....lost a lb so that's 5lb altogether...going (slowly) in the right direction
