I found out about this book and audio this week from another thread and poster (thanks @ppeatfruit) and am finding it useful.

I found an old support thread from years ago but I dont think its still active.

Does anyone who is interested in this want to chat and support?
Or anyone who has used it in the past with good results want to give hints and tips?

I have tried every diet going and have had real issues with yoyo dieting but my big aim this year has been to make food not such a battle.

I feel this might just be the way forward for me. But I'm aware I'm in very early days.

I think the book suggested 2 weeks but the app is 21 days?

I'm just coming on to say that I am full. I am! I am! Grin
I do no need to eat anything else right now. I am full!! Grin

@gibbonsgibbonsgibbons I've just listened to the app and he doesn't wake you up after. It just finishes , i presume so you just drift off to sleep.

Morning all

How are we all doing? I am on day 4 of the app. I don't feel that I'm giving it quite my all, probably Christmas is not the best time to be in the zone. But it is getting in there and I jist keep listening.

Today is motivation day to charge my metabolism. And the little sessions each day are really helpful. Almost more helpful than the audio which I'm struggling to be totally present with somedays.

But yesterday I went for a long walk with my family and it was great. It didn't feel like a chore, it felt like appropriate exercise as he calls it. I am hoping to get everyone out today again. It really made a difference walking together.

Thank you, will stick with it for the 21 days. It is certainly helping me be conscious of what I eat and stopping. I was very much a clean plate girl.
Does the app offer a lot more than the book and cd? How does it differ?

Love51 · 31/12/2020 16:08

I'd like to second boat girls questions? Tempted to get the app just because breathmillar said he doesn't wake you up on that.

Breathmiller · 31/12/2020 16:55

I wasn't sure either but I am finding its keeping me motivated. I like the checking in bit in the morning and the little extra sessions.

So it is things that are in the book but it's a video of him doing the exercises. I had said to myself that I would read a small bit of the book each day to keep motivated but of course i didn't.

So, I am finding it really useful, both for the extra little videos and the fact it reminds me to keep it up. I'm actually finding the small extras better than the main audio.

I might give it a go as need all the motivation I can get. I just weighed as it was new year and just half a pound off but all going in the right direction.
Has anyone tried any of his others? Interested in the confidence one but think 2 at once might clash.

boatgirl81 · 01/01/2021 08:29

And happy new year, let's hope it's a better one than last year!

Breathmiller · 01/01/2021 09:10

Happy New Year everyone.
A great time for motivation I say.

boatgirl I listened to his gastric band one years ago but it didn't resonate.

I have been listening to his postive pidcasts on Spotify, interviewing celebrities about what helps them to be postive and succesful. I've really enjoyed them and it helped me to 'trust ' him a bit more.

I found yesterday's motivational track on the app really good. I did feel more motivated.

Tired today after a late night for the bells but I will listen in to today's session later and maybe listen to the motivational one again.

Happy New Year! I downloaded the app yesterday and started it this morning. I also weighed myself. I was over 14 stone before Xmas, down to a tentative 13:10. It clearly works. Just need to see if it works when I'm back at work!

Breathmiller · 01/01/2021 10:01

Well done love51 i think any loss over Christmas is great. I tend to be better when I am working as it's quite an active job.

I suppose its about breaking habits.

I'll be interested in hearing how you get on with the app.

NearWildHeaven · 01/01/2021 10:10

I'm really intrigued by this. Can I check what app you are referring to? Is it "Thin - weight loss hypnosis" on the App Store or something else?

Breathmiller · 01/01/2021 10:35

@nearwildheaven
Yes I think thats the one. I'm not on apple so got it on playstore.
Do you have the book with thr audio too? Its really helpful to get started. Lots of overlaps with the app but I'm enjoying having the session to do on the app thrn I loook up the equivalent in the book to reaffirm it. Today's session was on self sabotage. Its definitely helping me feel better about myself, not just related to eating

OP posts:
Breathmiller · 01/01/2021 10:36

Excuse typos. If I have any new year's resolution it should be to check everything before I post

NearWildHeaven · 01/01/2021 10:39

Thanks @Breathmiller

That's exactly the advice I need. The book is called "I can make you thin"?

Breathmiller · 01/01/2021 10:48

Yes, thats the book. I got it on kindle and it comes with a better audio than the app i find.

Good luck with it.

It would be interesting to hear what bits are resonating with everyone?

I really liked the motivation one. And the bringing the hands together to bring the self sabotage voice and the "i can do this" voice together has potential for me actually.

That's what's good about the app. It's highlighting bits that I had skimmed over in the book.

I had the book and CD years ago but didn't really commit, loved the hypnosis bits and always fell asleep. Downloaded the app a few days ago and am determined to do it properly, I did fall asleep listening to the nighttime bit but hopefully it will act as a subliminal message! I have got in a habit of eating loads of sweets and biscuits mainly in the evening.

boatgirl81 · 02/01/2021 13:09

I really am finding the motivation I am getting from this cd amazing. Weighed in again and a bit more off so all good! I can't seem to forget to weigh myself though like it suggests. When are other people weighing in? I think I will try and limit it to once a week if I can resist!

Breathmiller · 02/01/2021 15:24

Great to hear you are motivated.

I'm not weighing myself at all, ir at least not giving myself a timetable to weigh myself. Its too much of a trigger for me.

OP posts:
Love51 · 02/01/2021 15:58

I weighed in when I started, before Christmas (not sure exactly, I didn't write it down!) then on New year's Day morning, which I wrote on the calendar and this thread. I'm going to try to go a fortnight but I don't fancy my chances!

vjg13 · 03/01/2021 10:04

No scales, so will go off how my clothes are fitting and I'm feeling.

Breathmiller · 03/01/2021 12:04

I have scales but I'm not feeling the desire to use them. Going by how i feel and clothes.

I don't feel I have lost anything over Christmas in fact I have put on a bit, I'm sure. But the biggest thing it is giving me is a confidence and ease around food. I think it will be a slow worker for me. Many years of disordered eating to undo. I am keeping going with it. And bits are getting in there. I feel it's working deeper on my self esteem. And each day with the app something new resonates. I feel I'm in this for the long haul.
Definitely moving more, feeling better and feeling more relaxed around food. I have IBS that is triggered by different kinds of food but mostly by overeating and binging. That hasn't been happening because I am stopping before I get to that very overfull stage. I hope to stop eating even earlier than that as time goes on and I recognise my hunger levels.

I had the book years ago, but never properly commited. I think i will gove it a go again though, as it makes so much sense. Can't for the life of me find the book now tho. Does the app have the same info? I know i've got the mp3's of the hypnosis, but can't remember the guidance from the book - i think a lot is about eating mindfully and stopping when full isn't it? I'll look up the app anyway, as it seems very motivating
