My casual dieting wasnt working very well so have joined up this evening. Am dismayed to find that I am 6lbs heavier on their scales than on my pal's Weightwater scales though

Hi

Good luck. I've been tempted to join but always backed out at the last minute. A couple of my friends lost huge amounts on weight using ww and always seemed to be eating delicious food!

Well done, WW is really great but don't bother weighing yourself except on their scales, it is too disheartening if you get a wrong reading. I have lost a stone over the past couple of months with ww and if I can do it anyone can as I love my food (and wine). I found it best to just do what you can stick to as a realistic lifestyle change ie if you mess up and have a blow out it doesn't matter as long as you just eat less for a couple of days and don't give up. Ever. or at least until you reach your goal. good luck

jampot · 17/10/2007 11:24

Ive ditched my scales now as the temptatiobn to climb on them every morning was too great. Also am doing a 1.5 mile walk after dropping children off. Fingers crossed I will see some results SOON

Hello, I'm seriously considering joining up. My cousin has recently and she looks amazing. I'm just so bad at being told what I can and can't eat. Also aware that I've tried these clubs before and have never gone more than a couple of times.

Maybe should be more positive as have lovely DS now and don't want to be frumpy Mum!

best of luck, will seriously consider signing up x

Just thought I would bump this thread back into active convo's.
How is it going Jampots? I joined WWlast monday and have lost 4lbs. I am not expecting that loss every week (even though it would be nice)
Are you still going every week and if so are you on points or core plan?

NiftyNanny · 12/11/2007 15:36

hey snickersyum, you don't even get told you can't eat stuff on WW. Even chocolate bars aren't that bad, you just have to balance it with whatever you're eating for main meals, so you might have to have a lighter meal (though if there are plenty of veg it can still be filling as they're no points) and allow for the chocolate in your planning -
I used to love finger of fudge and they're only 2.5 points, I get an allowance of 22 so I am laughing!
I reckon go for it, it teaches you about how to balance the food over the whole day rather than concentrating on "bad" and "good", a little bit of both is perfectly OK!

Earthymama · 13/11/2007 21:38

I've joined tonight!! Am horrified at how much I weighed in at But I know that DP and I can do it so am feeling really positive.

Who chose Core Plan and who uses Points?

Hello, can I join this WW thread? I've being doing WW online since 27th Sept, and it's been going quite well, with a few inevitable blips. I've managed to change my eating habits quite well - I almost can't believe we've had an open packet of chocolate digestives in the house for about a month now, and I haven't had one

I've lost 18lb so far over the first seven weeks - lost a lot at first and then a steady 2lb per week. And I can still indulge myself in a Starbucks muffin (5 points for the low-fat ones)

roisin · 14/11/2007 19:50

Hey - great thread! I got my 10% tonight
I've done that (18.5 lbs) in 10 wks So I'm feeling dead chuffed. I lost loads at first, but now it's a steady 1 lb per week.

I'd like to lose 1.5-2 lb per week, but it's not happening.

I'm doing core plan btw.

What is your best tip?

Lawrene8 · 14/11/2007 19:56

Great thread - I went back to WW tonight after a couple of weeks absence and have still lost half a pound even though not being strict at all.

beowulf · 14/11/2007 20:55

My best tip has been putting DS and DH's treats in an opaque box in the cupboard. Inside the box are chocolate buttons, smarties and chocolate biscuits, and each packet has a clip on it. That means there are three hurdles I have to cross before snacking on them!

Tomorrow is my weighing day - fingers crossed for my 10% (which is halfway to my goal weight).

Jampot · 14/11/2007 23:25

good luck beowulf for tomorrow and good tip.

i've upped my walking to 2.5miles per day and will increase it when i can fit it in

congratulations on your 10% roisin - how do you find the core plan?

OP posts:
roisin · 15/11/2007 04:26

I love core plan: it's so easy.

But also it's got me to develop really good eating habits, of knowing when I'm hungry (not just thirsty), and having regular healthy meals.

Dh lost stacks of weight using WW a few years back; I wasn't going to meetings but was doing it at home to support him and also lost a lot. But we both put it straight back on again, because we hadn't really developed solid healthy eating habits.

Jampot · 19/11/2007 23:07

another 4.5lbs tonight my total now is 12.5 yayayayayay

dinny · 19/11/2007 23:08

I joined WW 3 weeks ago on Wed next and - so far - have lost 8.5lb - amazing! really like it, it's so easy (honestly!)

Jampot · 20/11/2007 10:13

Hi, I lost another 3.5lbs this week. total los in 2 weeks is 7.5lbs so i got my silver 7
I have found it easy so far but to be honest the first stone should just drop off me

empen · 20/11/2007 21:23

I am keeping an eye on this thread casue I am gonna go back to ww soon. I had my baby 2 weeks ago so I will be joining up in a couple of weeks.
I went to ww after the birth of my dd - five years ago and lost 7 stone so I am def a believer. I KNOW the points value of practically everything after following it religiously for 18 months.
I wish you all the best

moodlumtheHOHOhoodlum · 20/11/2007 21:28

Please can I join this thread? I've just got so depressed about being back on WW. Only been back for a month, and have lost 5lb, but just so depressing. It fell off last time, but this time, I'm finding it so so hard to be strict and keep to my points each day.

So I 'resigned' from going tomorrow night with my next door neighbour, and ate one box of smarties and two little bags of white choc buttons. Oh, and a lot of wine .

Maybe with this thread I can pluck up the courage to return. I do have about a stone at least to loose.

bruhaha · 20/11/2007 21:33

I've decided im a big fat bloater and i'm starting ww next week but this weekend i'm having a big blow out on the vino collapso at my mates house.

trying to eat all the choccie biscuits in my own house before next monday! i think i'll succeed

iammillie · 20/11/2007 22:38

congrats empen on the baby and the 7st weight loss.

I joined WW last week for the first time and have weigh in tomorrow night, I had a bit of a panic attack on Monday, convinced myself I couldnt have lost any weight as its been so easy so i had more than I should (chocolate and mini cheddars)but I had loads of veg today and have 4 points spare.

good luck to everyone.

p.s does anyone else start to worry a couple of days before you need to go back? I just want weigh in over with!

beowulf · 21/11/2007 10:59

My weighing day is tomorrow, and yesterday I went off the rails a bit after making chocolate tiffin with my 2yo to cheer him up as he was ill. I managed to restrict myself to one small slice (5.5 points!) but then I hoovered up the equivalent of another slice in crumbs as I was cutting the rest into squares. Arrrgghh.

Jampot · 21/11/2007 11:10

easily done beowulf - just be really good today and realise it was a temporary lapse not a complete collapse of the diet.

Ive just polished off 2 WW carrot cake slices instead of raking teh leaves in the garden
