Steps aren't possible life I'm up at 6am in order to be at work for 7.30am, literally don't have a minute to waste. I'm exhausted in evening, will get a walk with dog alright but still not anywhere near 15000.

Not2bObvious · 05/10/2020 11:53

If you can manage the lower calories happier, steps won't make much difference anyway - I wouldn't put any more pressure on yourself, esp since you'd been poorly. You do a lot of running around, that's NEAT fir sure. You'd run the risk of making yourself hungry if you exercise too much on low cals.
You could try a 5:2 idea? Two days 800-1000 high protein/low processed carbs, then 5 days at 1400-1500? I reckon you'd easy lose 1.5 to 2lb a week on that. I can't do anything like that anymore but I know it does work for lots of people

I agree running around counts IMO. It's not like you are lazy.
Definitely focus on food the rest will follow on.

Not2bObvious · 05/10/2020 18:27

Managed to get my steps, but I'm soo hungry! And I've only 52 calories left😩
Might have to borrow from tomorrow

Only 8k steps here

Happierwithouthim · 05/10/2020 19:53

Oh I don't know part of me is like get better get sorted with house and deal with weight when everything's sorted and then other part of me is saying how's getting heavier going to help anything

Seems we will be at level 3 restrictions now which I'm totallly ok with

Happierwithouthim · 05/10/2020 19:55

I'm at 7500 but not home from my walk yet

Not2bObvious · 05/10/2020 20:04

As long as you don't gain, you can certainly actively maintain - it's always an option if you're a bit overwhelmed. It's not a given to gain if you're not actively dieting.
Yeah level 3, been in it for 2 and a bit weeks in Dublin so at least it's not getting any worse from a restrictions POV. Had thought about going away for a few days at Halloween, not abroad of course but out of the county. Not on the cards now

Evening everyone , so busy today , sorting out Dd2 paperwork to take to her new house, God there was so much , l had a sackful of paper to burn. Food wise l seem to be in a good mind atm thankfully, it's the being busy that does it and despite feeling really hungry about 1.30 when l shopped in Morrisons £30. l managed to wait till tonight for my Chinese meal for one from Asda. I don't normally eat fast food/ready meals but being so busy with Mum & Dd2 moving it has been a Godsend , Only 675 cals to so l am good with the cals today Smile
Happier it sounds so busy for you love Flowers
Life 7500 steps is brilliant . I put a lot of weight on when l stopped walking because l have spinal stenosis. 2 bulging discs pressing on my sciatic nerve . l slept on my Mum's Sofa for 10 weeks when my Dad died and pushed her around in a wheelchair and it did for me . I can cope with everything life throws at me like cleaning, caring for Mum but l can't walk any distance now Sad l miss it so much.

Not2bObvious · 05/10/2020 20:53

Sounds like you never stop mrs! I hope the meal was nice, you certainly earned it. I think you must be burning tons of calories with being constantly on the go. Your poor back, I know that pain. I've had sciatica caused by a moderate slipped disc they reckon, only got the disc diagnosis after an mri shortly before lock down. As a result I've no idea if there's anything I can do and I live in fear of another bout of sciatica - the pain broke me last time.
Accepted this might not be a stellar weight loss week, upped cals to 1800 to see how that goes (and had a few DoritosBlush)

I come home and collapse Not Grin
Sounds very like what l suffered , had an MRI which showed bulging discs onto my Sciatic nerve and had Physio which helped me so much. I had a girl who had just finished her Physio degree and she was lovely bless her , called Erika, beautiful girl only abut 21 just out of Uni ,she was amazing. I was so afraid of getting addicted to the painkillers , Tramazol, Gabapentin, Co codamol & Voltarol l was afraid to take them too much and was in agony . She made me see sense and l took the tabets, she showed me exercises to do to loosen the muscles and l was much better after 3 months. I still have pain now , l have to be so careful. I used to have to drop to the floor by bending right down and touching my toes with a straight knee to disengage the discs off my nerves , she taught me to do that Smile l must have looked a right Charlie Grin . Now l can function as normal but l am careful not to lift too much and l can't walk like l used to , l am only on a coupe of paracetamols and Ibuprofen now , which is a great improvement l can tell you , l must have rattled Grin. Sounds like yours may have eased a bit ? I do hope so Flowers

Not2bObvious · 05/10/2020 21:50

Omg - that sounds really tough. They are horrifically stingy with pain meds here, the last bout I got naproxen and solpadol but only enough for 5 days. And 5, yes 5, diazepam, one a day at night to stop spasms. I ended up trying to keep meds to a min so I'd have enough if I got a bout & couldn't get a doc appointment. The previous time before I'd had the mri I was referred to a physio who inadvertently put me into spasm, she was completely freaked out! Also tried an osteopath, very €€€. I'm years with this coming on from time to time, never really got a diagnosis until the mri which I have to admit I'd avoided. Don't know why. Your physio sounds amazing!

Mrsmadevans · 05/10/2020 22:00

She was wonderful , l was so grateful to her , she gave me these muscle stretching exercises to do l still do them every night as well , l couldn't bear the pain it was horrific. I can't get over you not being given adequate medication that is awful for you. The Drs couldn't have been more helpful to be fair . This is also why l want to get weight off to be able to walk again . I was under the impression l would be in a tunnel for the MRI and l couldn't do that l know . However the MRI was like a do nut ring and l slid in and out of it , l was fine Grin
We are funny old things aren't we Smile

Not2bObvious · 06/10/2020 07:17

To be fair (carrying on from last nights back chat, get it😉) your issues sounded much worse than mine mrs, if I'd been like that and my doc tried palming me off with the handful of smarties I got, I'd probably riot😂 I am, as previously stated, a terrible big baby😬
News from the not so sad step for a change, 160.2 - that's down 6lb in 3 weeks. Utterly chuffed

I'm trying to take terra nova life supplement and it's hideous. It's ok mixed in a shake. So this morning I had protein shake 182cals at home.

Just had slice of seeded bread with two poached eggs and some butter.

Lunch is meatballs and pilau rice
Dinner possibly chicken something or other.

ememem84 · 06/10/2020 11:31

2764 steps so far today. Chained to desk most of the morning. Sigh.
