Hiya SusieC welcomes all new recipes with open arms I have this saved to my favourites on my toolbar - wouldnt have a clue how to find it if it went missing though!
Know this will sound gross and dont mean to cross thread - but will you let me know how you get on with ur mooncup? I have had one for ages but am yet to use it, havent needed to for nearly 18 months! So am curious as to how good they are!

spottyshoes · 10/10/2007 22:51

PSML yet again tonight! I am defo with you on the song choice KB!
Managed to avoid the adult dinner tonight but am getting a tad peckish so am off to bed before the munchies set in!

Night all

susiecutie · 10/10/2007 22:52

thanks you two made me feel better.

I am pretty bloody good at nork swinging. I like the look of the edible tassles too! might just get a pair! lol

just been on phone to DH who is in Sunderland tonight. only 2 more sleeps til I've got his chest to snuggle up to and snuffle cant wait really struggling to look after Dd to be honest. feel a bit of a failure not managing.

Onwards and upwards though with the diet. IS such a positive thing to be doing. back on track first thing

i'm not going yet, but night night to those that are, sweet dreams and all

spottyshoes · 10/10/2007 22:56

Oh bless you saying "2 more sleeps"!!! I miss my DH loads and he is just sleeping upstairs coz he is on earlies, cant imagine him being away! YOU ARE NOT A FAILURE! I'm sure if you asked DD she would say you were the bestest mummy ever!

Am now going to have to set my alarm for group nork swinging arent I ????

pollywollydooooooooodle · 10/10/2007 23:10

susiec you are not a failure! you are normal! dc's are hard work...for me it is vital to have some way of sharing the load....physical and mental.....i don't know how you manage partic with limited phone contact.....you are asking yourself to be superhuman

anyway amoff to bed for a practise nork swing before tommorrows debut......now howdo i get the tassels to swing in opposite directions.....

susiecutie · 10/10/2007 23:13

Thanks spotty, but i do feel a bit of a failure... she is very happy though, such a smiler. Mum says I over compensate, not in a bad way though. So first thing, after the nork swinging, after i can get her detached from said norks... prob burn more calories if i leave her attached
we are going to have a bath together ( mum is popping over early to help me in and out) and then our porridge. then a chat to daddy before his meeting starts...

Breakfast:
Porridge with mashed banana, dried cranberries, apricots and a splash of maple syrup. hmmm, cant wait!

Lunch:
Beef stew for both of us. No bread ... must not have bread.. keep away from the bread lol

mid afternoon:
apple and snack a jack

Dinner:
paoched eggs, baked beans and 1 slice of wholemeal bread.

i am sleeping with his t shirt tonight which i found today, smelling of him I started counting the number of sleeps as it seems a bit less than counting days somehow!

susiecutie · 10/10/2007 23:16

x posts... thank you too Polly.
He's back to being on the phone alot again. even rang at lunch time just to tell me he was going to get his lunch and what he was having... blooming chips! i was dead jealous, but glad he called.. i think lol

just waiting up for his good night text then i can relax and let the sleepy fairies find me. they're doing a good job on Dd at the moment

pollywollydooooooooodle · 10/10/2007 23:19

lol at chip update grrrr
glad you are having more contact now...
goodnight

spottyshoes · 10/10/2007 23:28

Proof is in the pudding SC, if she is a smiler than you are doing a fantastic job already! I know it is hard, My DH is a police officer and regularly does shifts but that is nothing compared to your weeks on end without him! Personally I dont think you can over compensate with kids unless they get a lot older.

Now have mental images of us with kiddies nork swinging and losing loads of lbs!!!! will be trying that come 8am - nething to lose the flab

Sounds like you have a lovely day planned out tomorrow (beef stew - sounds yummy - same recipe as the chicken????) and I dont blame you on the t-shirt one bit - I have a hubby pillow when he's not here! (make him hug my 5foot maternity one so I have something good to cuddle!!)

Not many sleeps now hun... xxxx

tangarine · 10/10/2007 23:35

Hi ladies!

I'm still here and still dieting! The thread has moved on a lot since last I posted - not sure about all this group nork swinging malarkey!

Today:

Special K and coffee
Endless coffee all morning (at a conference). No biscuits yay!
4 quarters of sandwiches and fruit (had to hold myself back from crisps and cheese on offer)!
2 small baked potatoes with philly "light" and a big bag of spinach
2 squares of chocolate

Hope you are all well and not as hungry as I am.

spottyshoes · 10/10/2007 23:42

Bloody well done tangerine!

I have NEVER managed to resist conference food! You should be VERY proud of yourself!

I'm not sure about ANY kind of swinging but in for a penny in for a pound eh?

I havent had any adult dinner tonight so am just as hungry but trying not to think about it

spottyshoes · 10/10/2007 23:43

Blimey - was going to bed ages ago. Am getting too hungry...Goodnight again!

susiecutie · 10/10/2007 23:44

well the t-shirt is draped over the materinty pillow

beef stew:
extra lean stewing steak, or chop up a lean steak.
carrots
turnip
parsnip
onion
mixed pulses with added pearl barley
bouquet garni
tomatoe puree
any other veg you have around!
broccoli ( at last minute)

brown the beef with the tomato puree then add onions. when browned, drain the fat that comes off.
Add chopped veggies
sprinkle over vegatable boullion ( No fat at all ) and a stock cube
add boiling water until all covered and about another 1 - 2 cm above. stir all together so boullion dissolves.
add in 1 -2 table spoons ( or more if you like it) of the mixed pulses and pearl barley.
* at this point you can also pour over a can of guiness or ale if you like... if you are, use less water *

let it all simmer for about 10 - 15 mins. then transfer into oven at about 180 for at least an hour, definitely until the veg is soft. add broccoli towards end. or else it vanishes into the stew!

If you are feeling very naughty, r as a treat or even just for rest of family, you can put dumplings on the top 2 handful of beef suit to 1 of plain flour and a little water and dash of salt. make into balls and pop into stew on the top.

tangarine · 10/10/2007 23:47

Thanks ss! I'm away next week for 3 days at a place with huge cooked breakfast, 3 course lunch, 3 course dinner, morning coffee and cake, afternoon tea and biscuits and every other eating opportunity you can think of. I'm sure to crack, as it will be long hours, hard work, and, for part of the time, just boring, so I'll end up comfort eating. So am doing my good bit this week in advance!

And am going out for a drink tomorrow - so my halo will definitely be a bit wonky by Friday...

tangarine · 10/10/2007 23:50

Ooh susie that sounds tasty, nd just right for this time of year. I think I know what we're having this weekend .

mylittlefreya · 11/10/2007 06:08

I really should be on here in the evenings!!! I miss all the hilarity! We have been up since half past four and having written yesterday off I even had a stupid glass of wine last night. Grrrr. Walking and healthy eating today!!! I wonder if I might find an exercise video/ DVD in a charity shop - could do that and play with the baby at the same time?

I may need ongoing kicking pollywollydooooodle feel free to supply them!

No alcohol at all for the next week for me.

susiecutie · 11/10/2007 10:27

Well done markstretch!!! brilliant

Thank yo KAty, such a lovely thing to say to me, need to hear it just now too, I really appreciated that

Bad start guys.. I am being honest and genuine here, it not an excuse. I couldnt reach the porridge oats this morning. My friend tidied up for me and put them one shelf too high.

I had to eat due to taking painkillers, so had to have 2 slices of toast. so had toast and jam and a little teeny smidge of peanut butter.. ok so i did have control over that but just annoyed that i started off badly.

Secret is now: DO NOT WRITE OFF THE WHOLE DAY.... get straight back on, or else you end up with big slip up, i comparison to a relatively small one...

good luck all, will be on and off all day. depending on how long i can sit up for.
