I went and bought chips. But me and DP shared them and I am planning on working it off!

pollywollydooooooooodle · 03/10/2007 20:41

evening katybumpers new and old!

dear mark stretch....
I admire people who can do the complete overhaul of diet and put up with hunger thing....i know from experience that i can't so what helps me is that comparison with a pre-diet day and i bet you've still had less than on a prediet night out day (if you see what i mean!)personally my drink out would also have involved crisps/nuts

NAB re find a way not to eat after eve meal...for me that is a sign that i will get really hungry and binge on whatever comes to hand later....why not knock up some of the WW soup (earlier in the thread)or have fruit or a piece of toast...low cal and beats going hungry (IMHO)and is prob less than on a non diet day

anyway my bug related loss of appetite only lasted a couple of hours(boo) so today have had

muesli and skimmed milk

egg salad sarnie (minus the butter but keeping the salad cream)2Plums

veggie hotpot, squash, carrots. Stewed fruit (no topping)

looking forward to decaff nescafe cappuccino and a biscuit later (plain)

no picking!

water,water,water...(chuck me a life belt someone)

mrs SS....hows the wind?

dinny · 03/10/2007 20:42

can I join? I started counting Points a week ago on that little WW calculator and have lost 3lb this week

today has been fine - just about to have glass of wine - mmmmm

is it feasible to lose 3lb every week for first month?

pollywollydooooooooodle · 03/10/2007 20:46

hello dinny
i don't know...i suppose so if you have a lot to lose....are you aiming for something special at the end of a month?

pollywollydooooooooodle · 03/10/2007 20:47

well done btw!

dinny · 03/10/2007 20:48

hi Polly

just really thinking that I could be back in all my old clothes next month if I work hard - can it be done? is it really as simple as only eating 19 Points a day???

ELMTREE · 03/10/2007 20:52

i would say depends how much you have to lose.
For me today has been:
Breakfast: Cornflakes and banana
Lunch: 2 Small part baked rolls with ham
Dinner: Low fat cod and homemade chips
Snack: 1 Choc Chip snack a jack.
Drinks: Lots of tea and 1 glass of rose.

katybumpinthenight · 03/10/2007 20:52

pollywollydoooodle you talk a lot of sense and have some great advice

welcomedinny and great that you lost 3 pounds
think 3 pounds every week can be done but we would all be miserable , mullerlove i think you need when dieting ,pleasure and pain ,treats being pleasure but excercise being the pain to work them off lol

katybumpinthenight · 03/10/2007 20:54

your doing really well elmtree

i like reading everyones menus of an evening it really gears me up for the next day .helps me to stay focused

thanks everyone for sticking with this xxx

dinny · 03/10/2007 21:10

thanks all - so, 3lb a week would be pretty miserable?!

my food today:

Shreddies and skimmed milk, decaff coffee, half pink grapefruit

small baked potato with few prawns and big salad and fat-free vinaigrette

noodles with stir-fry veg, apple

snacks - two crispbread, two satsuma, Earl Grey tea and ma having some white wine as weigh-in day!

katybumpinthenight · 03/10/2007 21:18

no,sorry i meant if you try and lose 3 pound a week you would probably have to be really strict with yourself everyday and that could make you miserable.nuch better to have a treat now and again as part of your plan and be happier.
that works for me anyway

pollywollydooooooooodle · 04/10/2007 00:44

katybumpinthenight · 04/10/2007 08:14

have agreat day everyone think thin and i'll call in later xxx

ELMTREE · 04/10/2007 08:47

i also have a hectic day, but have started wit a bowl of cornflakes.

Countingthegreyhairs · 04/10/2007 09:08

Spoke a bit too soon yesterday! Succumbed to the lure of the biscuit packet last night (but they were oat-based and organic ).

I'm finding there's a direct correlation between the amount of sleep I have at night and how much I eat the next day (partic. carbs). Basically, if I'm tired, it's much easier to give in to temptation and "fuel" tiredness with snacks and too much coffee.

So an important element of my diet from now will be making sure I get to bed at a decent hour (+ buying healthy stuff at the supermarket).

Thanks for the encouragement Katybump. Have a good day all.

CountessDracula · 04/10/2007 09:35

still going well I think

yesterday

Bircher muesli for breakfast with some granola (quite a lot )

Two digestives for lunch (forgot to have lunch so had to grab something quick!)

Pasta with celery, carrot, onion, garlic, chili, tomatoes, basil, a little bit of chicken and a few pine nut for dinner

Then low fat rhubarb yoghurt and plums (god plums are good at the moment) and antoher biscuit

CountessDracula · 04/10/2007 09:35

oh and half a bottle of wine

damn

dislexicicecream · 04/10/2007 10:11

morning every one,
just over half way through our first week!
how are you all feeling? i have to say i think i have more energy already but that could be cos i gave my self a food curfew so bord with out food at night and am going to bed earlyer.
did my new exersise dvd last night it wasnt to bad but i have a few sore muscels in the right spots this morning got to be a good thing though,

MarkStretch · 04/10/2007 11:20

Morning all. I am feeling very guilty about the booze and chips last night so being especially hard on myself today.

So far have had 2 cups of tea and a bowl of porridge. Have filled my 2 litre water bottle and will attempt to drink it today. Got steamed salmon for dinner, just wondering what to have it with...

Off the see my almost MIL now to discuss forth coming wedding eeeeeeek she scares me!

dinny · 04/10/2007 12:18

feeling guilty about treating self to wine last night, although didn't go over Points so am making Point-free veg chilli to have tonight at work and am also cooking off a small jkt potato to have it with.

hopefully tht'll keep me on the straight and VERY narrow, lol

spottyshoes · 04/10/2007 12:44

Morning everyone! I too succumbed to the wine last night and unfortunately that meant nibbles! Although I did manage to stick to oatcakes with philly and an apple bun. (and a few handfulls of sweetchilli crisps ) However it was weightwatchers wine - the fruity white one and not as bad as I thought it would be - so saved a few cals there I suppose!
Oh well katybumpers, that was last night, today is a new day!

I'm feeling the sore muscles this morning too D.I - damn those lunges!

Good luck with the scary MIL M.S

Dinny, do you fancy sharing the recipe for your no points chilli? Sounds yum

pollywollydooooooooodle · 04/10/2007 13:54

well....forgive me katybumpers for i have sinned!

ended up at 2am eating 2 marmite crumpets a piece of toast with more marmite (my salt levels will go thru the roof)and a couple of handfuls of bombay mix....

oh well counted the crumpets as brekkie and am now trying to get back on track and ignore the almond slice shrieking my name from the cupboard....can i have a group "stay out of the cupboard pollywolly" please?

well done to all those who stayed on track/did some damage limitation...good luck for today

spottyshoes · 04/10/2007 14:12

"stay out of the cupboard pollywolly"

Maybe the crumpets werent fab but I thought toast & marmite would be a healthy snack - is it not?

pollywollydooooooooodle · 04/10/2007 14:32

thank you SS!

My fighting spirit is coming back...anyway i've just fed it an apple to keep its strength up...

hope you're doing ok today..we wouldn't be human without the odd bit of succumbing would we?

ps marmite and toast would have been ok but the butter in between the two probably wasn't!!
