I was doing really well until I ate three chocolate hob nobs just now.

I can confirm the portobello pizzas from the Lise a stone programme are nice but ds did ask whether they were the starter and where was his main course

Unescorted · 16/08/2020 20:57

Wolf I am so rubbish at leaving things in the packet. I am hoping that the kids will eat the remaining chocolate cake tonight. I have broken it to them that crisps are no longer a thing in our house. Although I have relented and bought ice cream (but I am not a fan of the flavour). As things progress I am tempted to switch them onto frozen yoghurt because I will not eat that in a million years. I rather starve to death.

Your DS has a point - many of the diet foods are just smaller version of the non diet version.

wreck that is a sensible compromise. And you never know you might decide to start dieting again sooner than you had planned. At least you won't have sabotaged your previous effort

Not you are under - good effort!

SnugglySnerd · 16/08/2020 21:18

Hello! Jumping in if that's ok. As I mentioned over on August frugal thread I have realised I have gained half a stone. According to the NHS I still have a healthy BMI so that's good but my clothes are looking and feeling a bit tight and I have really over indulged in ice creams cake and beer during the school hols. I always cook from scratch and eat loads of fruit and veg but I need to cut out the treats and move about more.
Dh is on board too which is good as he is often the one to suggest a treat.
So far today I have had 0 treats or alcohol, have been for 2 walks (one with the dcs and then a proper one on my own at a faster pace!) and I have done a YouTube yoga video.
I am hoping that in the same way confessing to spends on the other thread helps me monitor my spending this will do the same for food!

ememem84 · 16/08/2020 21:31

I fell off a bit so am getting back on track. Tomorrow is a new week.

I plan on getting up and walking/jogging. No food until lunchtime. Then leftover rice and veggies with salad. Apple and carrots as a snack. Lots of water.

15000 steps every day next week.

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/08/2020 07:05

Welcome back everyone one.

1/2 lb as one its an off. Got my steps but forgot to put my watch on after shower so not recorded. 128 over yesterday but that uses Saturday deficit. Back to the laptop this morning so will have to step on calls and not fridge raid when bored

5 under is still under not.

Not2bObvious · 17/08/2020 08:59

Down 2.6 today, so that’s pleasing - done 9,000 with walkie talkies. Now chained to laptop to catch up on last week

SingToTheSky · 17/08/2020 09:48

Down 1.6lb today so after reversing last week’s gain I now have a new lowest weight this year.

Excited for yoga again tomorrow and then I need to choose another day to book a regular gym session 🤔

SnugglySnerd · 17/08/2020 10:57

I've just realised we don't own any bathroom scales, I only got weighed yesterday because I was at my mum's and she has some. That might make it difficult to track weight loss Grin
I will know if my clothes fit though I suppose!

Had some errands to do this morning so I walked. 2 and a bit miles so that was a good start to the day.

Not2bObvious · 17/08/2020 12:38

That’s brilliant sing, you should be well proud of yourself.
Great start snuggly - clothes is a great measure if you don’t want to spend on a scale (I’m not a frugaleer, I’m a spendaholic!) or if you’ve a tape measure better again.

Made it to lunch. Have had leftover rissotto, and have apple slices and carrot sticks as a “pudding”

Not2bObvious · 17/08/2020 13:42

Scrambled egg with tomatoes & mushrooms and lightly buttered soda bread. 😋

Waves to snuggly

I have been out for my commute time run this morning - 3.5 miles before work. I do love wfh for that reason.

Managed another 16:8 day...it is getting harder to do this as I do more exercise.

SnugglySnerd · 17/08/2020 18:52

I love soda bread! Good tip about the tape measure, thank you.

I have managed all healthy meals today and no snacks. Been for 2 walks and have done some energetic house work. Going to do another yoga video tonight as I slept really well last night for the first time in ages and I think it was the yoga that helped. I snack more and make poor choices when I'm tired so improving sleep will help.

Not2bObvious · 17/08/2020 19:14

Have to say it was really tasty. Had a roast dinner and my last snack now, leaving a massive 10 cals behind today😂

401 calories left. Thought probably less as I licked the baking spoon. 16800 steps. Fibre hit and 4g protein short

Happierwithouthim · 18/08/2020 06:59

@WreckTangled

I'm going to make sure I'm eating healthily at home and enjoy myself when we're out. Hopefully that'll allow me to maintain.
Sounds good wreck that's much like my theory

Happierwithouthim · 18/08/2020 07:03

Not definitely hear you about dc on hols, ds tried me out yesterday. Hoping today will be a better day. Definitely not calorie counting at the moment.

Consumed a large amount of food yesterday, swam for an hour. Weather was shocking today's meant to be better Hmm

Unescorted love to hear about 16:8

Going to try get my water in while I'm away so at least that'll help . There was a mirror beside me at dinner table, my dark circles are so big they could catch the rain that fell yesterday, fitful sleep last night, meant to know today about if bank will lend to me for house I want to buy Wink

Wreck keep going you'll regret it otherwise

Snuggly welcome

SnugglySnerd · 18/08/2020 07:25

So much for sleeping well! Terrible night with dts and I'm exhausted. It's going to be hard to keep.away from the biscuits today...

Not2bObvious · 18/08/2020 08:32

Best of luck with the bank happier, nice to hear from you - hope all is good, mortgage worries aside. The weather is shocking, I’m meant to be down your end of the country for a few days next week (if I remember you saying you were kind of cork/Kerry’ish?) and the forecast is utterly miserable. I pray we have WiFi, makes the teen less feral.
Sts today so holiday gain is still around 2lb which is fair. Done my minimum steps of 9,000 already so will need to do a bit throughout the day to get to 14/15,000. Bloody starving, think I’ll make this a breakfast day

Unescorted · 18/08/2020 08:33

Happier my interpretation of 16:8 is not eat anything for 16 hours and then eat healthy things. So I stop eating and drinking alcohol/ sugary drinks at 10. I then don't eat until 2pm. At which point I have something like a 2 egg omelette with mushrooms or other left over vege. That carries me through to dinner at 7:30.

I am finding post exercise recovery harder than I do normally - possibly because I exercise first thing and then don't have the protein I would normally. It could also be because I am exercising more.....

I am noticing a huge difference to my wobbly sections in a really short time. Especially my arms and legs... the fat seems to be going from my extremities first and working inwards to my Corona Belly. Shirts that were tight across my arms are now fitting - even just after a week.

WreckTangled · 18/08/2020 08:37

Happier the trouble is I seem to be out a lot at the moment Grin exercise has stopped too I'm too busy bingeing Suits on Netflix.

I did go out to dinner last night but had a really light lunch before and that was it all day so I'm guessing had a maintenance level yesterday.

ememem84 · 18/08/2020 08:40

76.1kg today. Hmm.

Been for a run this morning and am intermittent fasting today (except for tea and coffee...).

Have a nice salad for lunch - Apple cucumber tomatoes carrot and peanut.

Not2bObvious · 18/08/2020 11:48

Trying out the app, was wondering how you were all quoting each other! Typical late adopter.
I'm zonked today, taking a break from the laptop - not a lot to do after being so busy yesterday. Linda veg sausage, beans & toast planned for lunch - looking forward to a feed
