Military Diet

I'm not normally a fan of quick fix diets but I've put on over a stone in lockdown and none of my clothes fit so really need a kick up the bum. My cousin did the 3 day military diet last week and lost half a stone so I'm going to give it a try starting tomorrow. Has anyone done it?
Cousin said it was tough but it has reset her appetite so she is eating less now at each meal. Sounds exactly what i need right now!
Will post here for accountability. Anyone want to join me?

I was 14.3 on Tuesday morning and today I am 13.10!!!

I know it's mostly water but it's a bloody good kick start for me as I've been struggling for ages. Going to do normal 16:8 for the next three days then start on this again on Monday.

That’s really good @catinb0oots, well done!
I agree it a great kickstart and for me has shown me I can eat meals without mounds of potato .

Thanks @caramac04

I actually didn't really feel deprived at all and enjoyed the food. I probably had larger quantities of veggies than the plan states, but like you I've remembered I can eat a meal without tons of stodgy carbs and still feel full.

Well done @caramac04 and @caramac04 !

I did it again this week and am another 3lbs down, so 11lbs in total! Admittedly I had been really scoffing beforehand and had put on a lot of weight in a short time.
I didn't feel as hungry this time round and am really loving the half banana and ice cream in the evenings, will probably do it again for the next couple of weeks.

Sorry meant to tag @catinb0oots in last post rather than caramac twice Blush

@caramac04 - with the weight training you mentioned doing... whilst you wouldn’t gain muscle weight in a couple of day...you would still be effecting positive change and part of that, I believe, can be an initial increase in water retention (can’t fully remember why but some part of how muscles respond when you start on the road to increased strength & fitness or ramp workouts up to the “next level”) . That’s why, when you start new fitness regimes, its success is hard to measure on the scales - photos and measurement can be a better indicator of progress and impact.

caramac04 · 05/07/2020 09:19

@Zogtastic thank you , that is interesting. I’ve definitely lost mass as my shorts aren’t cutting into my waist now and I look less fat .
Still a long way to go but I’ve lost another 2lbs the last 3 days so a total of 7lb 15oz in 10 days.
Onwards and downwards.

Zogtastic · 05/07/2020 09:35

@caramac04 - That is fantastic! Well done.

My clothes are doing the opposite and getting tighter on the waist so I’m planning to give this a go tomorrow. I’ve tried “short term Diet plans” before that have been 7-10 days long and always run out of steam after 2-3 days so I’m interested to see if a 3 day then 4 days off approach works for me. I have also dusted off the 30 day shred!
