6 stone to lose. 19st and miserable

StarsAndSnow · 18/04/2020 12:08

I've tried all sorts of plans. I have Definite binge problem. And alcohol. So I'm going to try intermittent fasting. No food from 7pm till 11am, two healthy ish meals and allow my self one sweet treat after my evening meal. Maybe a bottle of wine at the weekend. I'm going to go for a 45-60 minute walk each day.

Any support or tips would be appreciated, anyone in a similar boat?

I don't want to be too restrictive so I don't want to calorie count /watch carbs etc at the moment as I just rebel against it

As of this morning I'm 19st 6 and 5ft 9 which puts my bmi at 40

I'm disgusted with myself.

Dh and I have had sex about 5 times since my youngest was born 4 years ago.

Have you tried slimminh world? No weighing or measuring as long as you like veg you can eat without weighing . It would work really well for you I think .

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 18/04/2020 17:32

@StarsAndSnow

Don't be so hard on yourself. It happens to lots of us. I was in the same position in my mid to late 40s. I've lost the six stones, started working out and will be competing in my first bodybuilding compettion later in the year (current madness permiiting). If not, next year. I'm 53.

I'm an ordinary, unemarkable woman with a full time job and a pretty conventional (most of the time) life.

I have pictures if that would help (some people are motivated by them; others not).

You got this. You get there in the end. Trust me Flowers

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 18/04/2020 17:33

unremarkable

Davespecifico · 18/04/2020 17:34

Any way you can exercise at home? Are you out walking every day?

StarsAndSnow · 18/04/2020 18:11

Yeah I did slimming world, lose nearly 3 stone then put it all back on plus another 2 stone :(

OP I am in exactly the same boat as you. 11 stone 6 years ago, bang on 19 now. And terrified if I catch Corona my daughter will lose me through my own stupidity. We have got to start somewhere. I've been doing Joe Wicks every day, fairly short and not too hard for a beginner. I'd assumed with no take aways/coffee & cake/etc the weight would fall off me but it's not. Being stuck in is hard. Here if you want to chat or support. Wishing you the very best of luck

StarsAndSnow · 18/04/2020 18:19

Thank you moana , you too. I'm going to do the pe with Joe wicks with the kids. I know it's very very basic but I'm incredibly unfit

I'll join the club, when last child was born I was 11st and I'm now 16.5st 5 year's later.
I eat porridge and blueberries, salad, lean meat, water, fresh food....then blow it all with a bottle of wine, and my home baking. I've eaten half a cake in one sitting... regularly....
Stopped the gym, too many kids to find motivation at the end of the day, would rather sit down, snack watch TV then fall asleep on the sofa when they are all in bed.
I think I look great in the mirror, but the photos of me are not right. I have some sort of reverse body dysmorphia.
Husband says I look great (lying probably 😅)
Did Joe Wicks for 3 days and was in agony. With the kids off school right now I just can't be arsed at all.

StarsAndSnow · 18/04/2020 18:36

Cupcake this is exactly what I'm like. Don't get me wrong I love healthy food, I just also love junk and wine! And baking!!!

That's why I'm going to have a brunch at around 11.30 then whatever I want for dinner around 5 and have a chocolate bar with a cup of tea just before 7.I'm hoping this combined with a bit of a walk will help.
If it stops working I'll then look more at what I'm actually eating.

I'm ok if I don't eat for a bit, so I can go to 11am, but once I've had some breakfast it's like my stomach is kick started and I want to just eat constantly.

Good luck OP. Your plan sounds good to me. I know people who have had lasting success with intermittent fasting. I think it's because you don't feel deprived or think about food too much. I recommend a vibration plate machine for toning. You really feel the difference with just 10 mins of squats etc. Also, reading up about insulin resistance might help with avoiding cravings. I'm also trying to lose a couple of stone and finding it so hard with being inside all day. A walk or jogging doesn't seem to make a dent in it.

StarsAndSnow · 18/04/2020 18:50

Thank you Diana I'll have a look at those :)

Do you eat breakfast? I usually don't eat until about 11am, just coffee in the morning. Then porridge, then banana snack. Then healthy tea. Although tbh, If I make a salad, my salad portion is probably the same size as an American diner plate 🙈 but I still feel my eating habits don't reflect my size, I must be warped! Your plan sounds good too, especially because you're allowing yourself treats.
For example if I buy a cheesecake and it says 'feeds 6' I'm genuinely confused, 6 what? 6 ants??
You know for example the £1 Iceland cheesecake, could easily eat half. Enough for 3 ants.
😂 You'll definitely manage not to eat between 7 and 11. I've done it before myself and lost almost a stone in 6 weeks just by not eating at night.
I just find personally I can only relax better if I'm stuffed up to the brim 🙈
Definitely stopping the binge eating at night helps 😊

MoominKitty · 18/04/2020 19:08

Same here 5 ft 4, 19st and 15 weeks post birth. I did loose weight when preg and haven't put that back on at least 😂.

My issue is I don't move enough was gonna join a gym once I healed but that's out the window for the moment now...

Any tips for home exercise would be welcome.

Brskfast makes me eat more to op god know why so I'm trying porridge which is stopping the snacking at least haha.

We can do it!

cupcakehurricane101 · 18/04/2020 19:18

Porridge with honey, blueberries and banana is really nice, and sprinkle some cinnamon on too 😊

cupcakehurricane101 · 18/04/2020 19:19

And congratulations on baby 🥰💐

StarsAndSnow · 18/04/2020 19:21

I normally eat breakfast but if I don't I can go to 11.30 ish, but if I eat breakfast at say 8am I'm wanting to snack again by 10am!

OP posts:
MoominKitty · 18/04/2020 20:35

Dito @StarsAndSnow but the porridge is making me last till 12 😂.

Thank you @cupcakehurricane101 he keeps me smiling in all this

Zoflorabore · 18/04/2020 20:39

Hi everyone I’m in, sadly. I’m the same weight and 5ft 5. Weight has crept on over the last year, mainly due to my love of pop tarts and side effects from the many meds I take. I have fibromyalgia, anxiety, OCD and ADD.

I need some buddies to do this. I look and feel atrocious and am always thinking about food. Doesn’t help that I also have severe insomnia and am up half the night so am eating at all hours of the day and night.

Feels good to get that out.

StarsAndSnow · 18/04/2020 20:44

Zoflora, that must be awful, and I think lack of sleep isn't good for losing weight anyway. I don't work, well I work from home but make cakes and making the figures etc for them takes a while and a lot of concentration and I can go hours with out thinking about food, but since lock down I've had to cancel orders so I've no distractions.

cupcakehurricane101 · 21/04/2020 06:51

So how have you got on so far with your new plan? 😊

StarsAndSnow · 21/04/2020 17:49

I did well for a few days and then just binged on loads of crap last night. Wondering if I should try slimming world from home again as that's the only thing I've had really good success with in the past

How about everyone else?
