Anyone just starting out? 4 stone to lose 😫

AudreyTautou · 18/01/2020 22:06

I'm starting on Monday, so heading to the shop for diet-y supplies tomorrow.

I'm going to do healthy, lower carb. I expect it'll take me bloody ages to lose this weight, so no quick fixes, sadly.

Anyone care to join me on here for some accountability and moral support?

@TakesTwoToTango thank.you, well done to you too! 42 to go for me, to get to my first goal which depressingly, is still the top end of the healthy bmi range.

nottalotta at least we have both made a great start for the first week (5 days in my case, I'm hoping it might touch 4lbs off by the one week mark on Sun). I also can be quite good at losing a horrible at maintaining. Let's hope this time will be different!

TSSwift well done to you too!

I’m 2lbs down after a week of no sugar and some good hilly walks, so feeling pleased.

Hello, can I join too? 4ish stone to lose.
Weighing in tomorrow but this was my weight a few weeks ago. Have been off the wagon since but been ‘ok’ since Tuesday so back to SW tomorrow to face the music. I need to do this!

Height 5" 5
Starting weight 14st 8lb
Current weight 14st 1lb
Goal 10st 7lb

Will update tomorrow Blush

I’m trying intermittent fasting too to see if it gives me a boost! Had ‘fakeaway’ pizza this evening using a flat pita bread it was lovely!

@TakesTwoToTango the next 5 lbs will take me into the next stone bracket so I'm keen to hit that target. Had a wobble this afternoon but stuck it out.

Week one weigh-in and I'm 2.5lbs down. Which is pretty good considering that my approach of taking the weekend off and just being sensible was a bit of a disaster as I ended up going out for dinner both Friday and Saturday!

I'm quite happy with it though, and will try the same approach this week - being really good Monday - Thursday, but then relaxing it a bit on the weekend. I didn't find it too hard to diet during the week, but at the weekends I want to eat with the rest of the family. It's a bit like 5:2, but more of a 4:3. So I'll try that approach again and see how it goes - fingers crossed!

Well done @BookSkark !

My week 1 weigh-in was 4lbs down. I always lose v well the first week. Now I just need to keep up motivation when it inevitably tails off this week.

Sounds like loads of you are doing well. Did weigh in and face the music but not been as good as I could. I am so cross with myself. Food is my vice. I feel like I am disgusting. Need to channel some of anger more appropriately. I will bloody get there.

Hey all, I'm still dieting but not going great. I think I lost about a lb the first week. This week not sure.

I have an underactive thyroid and the last time I had my bloods done I wasn't medicated enough, so that might have something to do with my poor loss and the recent weight gain. But will keep going and hope I start to lose better.

I haven't done more than calorie count so maybe I should try to do some fasting days to kick off better. Will see if I manage to lose much this week.

I’m doing ok. Happy so far. I’ve not had any choc or biscuits etc and I’ve been pushing myself to do a good walk every couple of days that includes a good hill. In about a fortnight I’ve lost 3.5lbs and my clothes are feeling looser around the waist.

Squidget if you “only lose” one lb a week for the rest of the year you’d lose 52lbs, which is over 3.5 stones.. people usually fall off the “big loss fast” type diets anyway.

9lb down in three weeks with slimming world. Only 1.5lb last week which was rubbish, I didn't follow it properly though so knew it wouldn't be great. Trying to be better this week! And looking at the overall loss as well.

Have promised myself a haircut when I've lost my first stone, am desperate to get it chopped off into a bob (is middle of my back at the moment and terrible condition) so that's a good motivator.

Didn't do a food diary last week and found I cheated loads. Making myself do it this week.

Totally fallen off the wagon here! Must get back on. How about everyone else?

1/2 a pound off of having lost a stone! Feeling ok about that. Had a takeaway last night but will be good for the rest of the week to make up for it. Lots of soup!

Am starting to feel slimmer now, which is a good motivator. I still have two and a half stone to go but it does seem achievable, and my target would be the thinnest I've ever been as an adult so even if I don't quite make it it will be a massive difference. I put off starting for ages as I didn't want to try and it not work; do glad I eventually did it!
