Oh I need to be in!

Haven't seen either that programme or that thread Grin but have gained weighed gradually over the last couple of years.

Currently about 10 stone but need to be closer to 9 to look my best. I find it comes off so slowly which is disheartening but I need to get my head into it once and for all.

MrsEricBana · 05/11/2019 15:24

I would like to do this. I am very similar to you firsttimebuyer20 and 1 stone off would make a big difference to me.

BustedDreams · 05/11/2019 15:35

Hi Ladies

Now I’ve already lost a couple of stone I’m a similar weight to you @firsttimebuyer20. I would certainly love to be nearer to 9st rather than 10st!

I’m looking forward to watching the Channel 5 programme on Thursday (although I think it’s available to watch now 😮)

I need to also up my exercise too!

cheesenpickles · 05/11/2019 15:38

I'm here and ready to get into a slinky, sequinned Xmas party dress (that I have nowhere to wear Grin)

BustedDreams · 05/11/2019 16:06

High five @cheesenpickles Grin

OP posts:
BustedDreams · 05/11/2019 16:09

We don’t need anywhere special to wear it .... i can wear it at home whilst slaving over a hot stove Grin I’ve found you these for your gym!

Omg yes!!!

firsttimebuyer20 · 05/11/2019 16:26

Ok well I will aim for a stone then! Not sure if that is do-able by Christmas? How are you all planning to lose your weight?

I've just (2 days ago!) came back from our holiday, but actually don't feel like I've gained much. I'd started going to the gym before we went so need to get back into that but it's my diet that needs a shake up.

sunshinel · 05/11/2019 16:42

I would love to do this!
Managed to lose half a stone in October through calorie counting, my down fall is wine!
I'm 5 '8 and currently 12s 12lb, if I could even get down to 12 by Xmas I will be so pleased as this time 2 years ago I was 11s 6lb!
My new Fitbit has arrived today, I'm calorie counting on the lose it app and planning daily exercise bike for at least 20 minutes!

BustedDreams · 05/11/2019 16:50

@firsttimebuyer20 Everyone is different and what works for one person might not work for others. That said, I intermittent fast, calorie count and favour a lower carb Mediterranean type diet sans wine. I was losing steadily but find myself on a bit of a plateau. I know I need to up the exercise!

Welcome @sunshinel :)

@BustedDreams thank you, I've been following some of the other weight loss threads too and they are very inspiring. I try to do 16:8 most days too which I find helps as if I eat breakfast too early, I'm starving before lunch

BustedDreams · 05/11/2019 17:07

@sunshinel yes I agree the earlier I start eating the more I generally eat for the day. I naturally don’t enjoy breakfast and don’t generally start eating until 12:00. On the odd day I start eating earlier I usually need 3 meals for the day but when doing 17/7 I eat 2 meals. Sunday’s when I cook a Sunday roast I’m OMAD.

Count me in!

Lost 2lbs in the last week, so I’m now at 10 stone 13lbs (5’ 4”). I’ve lost three stone in total in just over a year. Aiming for 132lbs eventually.

It’s 16:8 and calorie counting alongside running and yoga for me.

Have seen a lovely party dress I’ve promised myself when I get to 145lbs/normal BMI.

buzzofthebumblebee · 05/11/2019 20:20

Ahhh go on then. I'm your shorter twin @sunshinel as same weight now, and 2 years ago. I still have those clothes hopefully hanging in my wardrobe. Remember how great I felt in them

sunshinel · 05/11/2019 20:44

@buzzofthebumblebee I still have some clothes from then too and pictures from my brother's wedding 2 years ago when I felt great, we will get back there! Smile

Hollywhiskey · 05/11/2019 20:59

I'm in. I had my second baby two months ago and overall I've got 2.5 stone still to lose. I'm calorie counting and trying to eat less biscuits and more fruit. I've done it before so I can do it again. I refuse to buy any clothes this size so I'm stuck in maternity leggings until I can get back into my regular stuff. And I've got a holiday booked in the new year - I need to be back in my regular clothes by then!

BustedDreams · 05/11/2019 21:34

@Hollywhiskey Congratulations on your second baby 👶. Be gentle with yourself. As you’ve said, you’ve lost before and you have a goal in mind. You’ll do great!

OP posts:
yukka · 05/11/2019 22:28

Can I join please! I'm 40, had first baby 16 weeks ago, didn't gain a lot of weight (no idea how so) but what I have gained has gone all wobbly! I start a baby buggy fitness class on Thursday but finding it difficult to do proper exercise. Am b/f so time away is limited. I'd love to lose a stone.

Good luck everyone!

BustedDreams · 05/11/2019 22:35

@yukka Congratulations on your baby. I suspect that the more a person has to lose the easier a stone target would be. If you only have a stone to lose to get to goal, 8 weeks might not see it off.

Ideally this isn’t about super quick fixes bu about sustainable eating routines that satiate and satisfy.

If people are wanting to see speedier results Dr Michael Moseley Fast 800 might be a good place to Start

Good Morning Y’ll

With about 8 weeks until Christmas and with a steady weight loss of 2lbs a week, a stone loss is doable. To lose 1lb you have to create a deficit of 3500 cals a week. If you’re calorie counting, you’ll need to know your TDEE. Then adjust your daily intake.

@Volvemos you seem on track with your 2lb loss Grin Keep going.

I’m looking forward to watching the programme tomorrow.

OP posts:
sunshinel · 06/11/2019 13:39

Worked out my TDEE and adjusted my goal on the lose it app, it's now given me 1236 calories per day instead of 1486 and says my goal prediction of a stone loss is 25th December 2019! Sounds good to me WinkThis is going to be hard especially around the festive season but if I can get even 3/4 of the way there I'll be happy!
Looking forward to watching the programme tomorrow too

BustedDreams · 06/11/2019 14:38

@sunshinel that is a very healthy attitude you have there! I feel the same ... in that if I can get half way there I’ll be pleased. I’ve been on a bit of a plateau of late.

I agree that this is the most difficult time of year to lose especially if you’re big on celebrating and get togethers. With planning, mindfulness of portion control, sensible choices without feeling too deprived a significant change can be had!

OP posts:
ifonly4 · 06/11/2019 15:06

Can I join as well please? Not necessarily for Christmas though. I only wear jeans in the winter, can't comfortably fit into mine so have been in tracksuit bottoms for a month.

I can't stand being hungary and need more willpower, so for me it's about lower calorie options and trying to exercise more.

Diemme · 06/11/2019 22:22

Oh brilliant, I started today with the aim of losing 2lb a week up to Christmas. I'm in.

BustedDreams · 07/11/2019 07:29

Good Morning!

Welcome @ifonly4 & @Diemme.

Tonight is the night. How to Lose a Stone for Christmas Grin C5 @ 20:00.

It’s never as easy as it looks but any sensible tips will be appreciated!
