Hi, I've realised today that there is 15 weeks and a few days til Xmas and I'm yet to get my arse in gear.

Anyone want to join me in a challenge to lose the most before Christmas day?! Cannot take ANOTHER year of shying away from camera and feeling embarrassed of myself..

Laniakea · 11/09/2019 19:10

didn't have a great day today - kept within my calories but I didn't eat brilliantly - had an unexpectedly busy day & I ended up snacking rather than proper food. Meh.

Would love a glass of wine but 1) it'll inevitably make me feel shit tomorrow and 2) I don't need the calories!

Doilooklikeatourist · 11/09/2019 20:32

Well thanks Masterchef , now I want profiteroles

Not a bad day. On about 1200 cals , not enough steps

Might do a sneaky weigh in tomorrow and hope to see some progress

Going away for the weekend ( and dinner on Sunday will be in a posh restaurant, and I will not be counting calories then )

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 11/09/2019 21:15

@Laniakea at least you stayed in your calories. Definitely pay yourself on the back for that!

@Doilooklikeatourist enjoy your posh dinner.

@helenb706 how are you planning to lose the weight?

I had a work at home day today and did quite well considering:

Big creamy latte for breakfast
Falafel and houmous salad for lunch
A packet of crisps to keep me going
Tuna mayonnaise bagel
A couple of cups of tea

75 mins walk with a friend. 1400 cals. Overall I'm happy with that.

Wanderlusting99 · 11/09/2019 22:13

Can I join you all? I started on the 3rd September at 160.8lbs, today on the 11th I'm 155.4lbs, I have around 30lb more to go. Exciting day today as bmi is now 24.9 so back in the healthy range!

helenb706 · 11/09/2019 22:27

Well done wanderlusting! I plan to ditch the booze and not snack...I work from home which is half the problem. Good phone call... celebrate with crisps, bad phone call... treat myself to a bag of cashews. I am veggie and love healthy food... I have 3 dogs and never sit down
I have just come off the tracks with emotional eating and drinking.

TheHoundsofLove · 12/09/2019 07:17

I'd like to join you too!
I've already lost a stone and a half since January, but have been floundering for the last couple of months and need to knuckle down again and crack on!
I'm now 10st11 and want to be 9 stone something by Christmas.
My biggest issue one of many is that I flit between different 'ideas' (calorie counting, low carb, low sugar, 5:2 etc...?) and end up confusing myself. I need to pick one and just stick with it!

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 12/09/2019 07:27

@helenb706 I can identify with a lot of that.

Calorie counting is going well this week. 10 stone 1 today. But Thursday is pub night. I'm going to have soda instead of wine, I've decided.

Vegan day today - I deliberately plan one every now and then to make me eat different food.

Breakfast celery and pb
Lunch lentil soup and apple
Tea falafel and houmous salad

jellybean007 · 12/09/2019 10:56

I'm so up for this, can I join?

Plucked up my courage to weigh myself this morning and 1.5 stone heavier than the beginning of the year which is so depressing. It's been a hard year adapting to a new job and I've defo drunk more wine which won't have helped. I'm too short to carry off this weight so it has to go!

Feeling a bit of solidarity would really help me keep on it this time! Thanks for the thread.

YahBasic · 12/09/2019 11:36

11 st 10.5 this morning, so hoping it can be 4lbs off by early next week.

Then just 10-12 more to go by 6th December.

Just trying to make sensible decisions over the weekend and it’s also pub night tonight for me, so aiming for gin and slimline

Doilooklikeatourist · 13/09/2019 07:30

Had a reasonable day yesterday , work was a bit stressful and I turned to the wine cure last night , however I didn’t drink the whole bottle as I could easily do , still had a rubbish nights sleep though

Weighed in at 11-03 , so that’s progress

Waist measurement is appalling though 33 inches , hope to do a couple of planks and some crunches to try and restore order

Can’t even blame baby bulge , DC are both in their 20s !

TheHoundsofLove · 13/09/2019 13:14

Doi I'm trying to restore order in the waist department too! Grin
Yesterday was a bit iffy, but have started today with gusto! I did a bootcamp class first thing this morning and am using MFP again. Feeling pretty bloody virtuous -depressed as it's Friday and I'm planning an omelette for dinner and no wine. Halo
How is everyone else getting on?

YahBasic · 13/09/2019 13:37

I had a couple of gins last night but glad to see that the scales hadn’t shifted up this morning!

The weekend is always a tricky one for me, as it’s been engrained from childhood that it’s for treats etc.

I’m planning on making a big veggie curry to have tonight and tomorrow, with homemade garlic naans tonight as the treat.

The next step for me is more exercise. I’m thinking of signing up for a spin class once a week starting the week after next to not overwhelm me too much.

YahBasic · 13/09/2019 13:38

On 11st 10, so 4lbs down in 2 weeks.

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 14/09/2019 21:28

Well done @YahBasic!

TheHoundsofLove · 15/09/2019 08:53

Well done Yah .
Weekends are tricky aren't they? Especially if, like me, you live with a husband and son who are always starving! My way of dealing with it is to be extra careful during the week to try and balance out the inevitable treats at the weekend. Also, I'm a runner, so try to schedule my long run for a Sunday morning and that seems to really help. But, it's still a hard balancing act...

GetYourOwnDamnSkip · 16/09/2019 10:00

Gahhh I'm sooo weak willed. Weighed today and exactly the same as last week! Though at least it's not a gain...

I have however been a whole week without smoking which I'm pretty pleased with.

Will be better this week!

Finlay13 · 16/09/2019 16:11

Do you mind if I join???
I very much need to loose my weight.
2 years ago I was 10st, today I got weighed and I was 12st 12lbs!
I'm only 5 foot 3 so been this weight is too heavy for my frame.
But feel this online encouragement will help and reading this blog everyone seems lovely. xx

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 16/09/2019 19:49

Hi @Finlay13 - I'm similar in height to you and last April was 12 stone 2. In September last year I was 10 st 7 and today am 9 st 13 - the first time in four years I have been in the 9s. You can do it Smile

I've had a good few days, though not really exercising - still resting from a mammoth session last weekend, and busy at work. I've got a half marathon at the weekend, so I'll prob run tomorrow.

I hope everyone else is on target!

TheHoundsofLove · 17/09/2019 08:20

Weirdly, I'm also 5'3 and started at 12st 2!

I'm aiming for a goal of below 9st. I'm 40 next year and want to be there by then.
I've not had a bad start to the week. I went for a 10k run yesterday morning and have healthy meals planned for rest of week. Halo just need to step away from wine and chocolate
Get You've done really well to stay the same if you've just given up smoking! Keep going!

Finlay13 · 17/09/2019 08:59

Thank you for the encouragement girls.
Today's the start so fingers crossed I manage to stay focused. Grin

GetYourOwnDamnSkip · 17/09/2019 23:59

How did u get on today Finlay?

I'm also similar height and weight as you bet I've got more chins though!) Grin

Good luck everyone tomorrow is a new day

Hi all, I am back. Went away to the trade show and as predicted, felt unconfident so sinned big time. Have plucked up the courage to finally get on the scales and i am 9 stone's 11... only ever been this heavy whilst pregnant. I have no further work trips... next big dread is the xmas party so good motivation. Tomorrow is Monday so a fresh start. Keep going everyone.

helenb706 · 24/09/2019 07:54

Has everyone given up? Hope not!

Onthebrink67 · 24/09/2019 08:46

Still here though life hasn’t gone to plan. Hoping this week will be better. How about everyone else?

DownUdderer · 24/09/2019 09:36

How’s everyone doing? I’m a similar age and weight as a couple on here so that’s encouraging!
