no hangover! I wasnt too bad last night.. fish was lovely and so was the insalata (it was a Sicilian recipe never) . and I only had a couple of small new potatoes..
I had a 2 egg omelette earlier and will have Baked chicken and roasted veg tonight..
No wine....!!!
proper fasting day tomorrow,

Huffthepuff · 11/08/2019 15:29

Chips 🤤

Finding today so much easier than yesterday. Much less hungry and not shaky at all.
So far I've had a celery stick dipped in hummus and a couple of crisp bread thins with cheese. More carbs than I should be having but it was quick and easy. Vegetable stew later which I've just finished cooking.

I've done an online food shop arriving tomorrow so I might attempt a meal plan while DS has a nap. I think planning lunches to take to work will be the tricky bit.

If any of you have a meal plan please post a picture so I can get some inspiration!

Weighed myself earlier and have lost 4 pounds but I think that's just water. Still motivating though 💪 Going to try and not weigh myself until Friday now

neveradullmoment99 · 11/08/2019 17:50

Way over today by god knows what. Back to normal tomorrow.
Would like ideas for little prep lunches too. Anyone with ideas.

I lost 5.5lbs in the first week and nothing since .. Confused

Laska2Meryls · 11/08/2019 17:53

Wine .. Sad

neveradullmoment99 · 11/08/2019 18:03

Awwww @laska...tomorrow is another day!

OP posts:
Huffthepuff · 11/08/2019 18:09

Yep, back on the horse Laska don't beat yourself up about it. You've had so much stress going on. I give myself about 2 hours before I break the no wine rule

Huffthepuff · 11/08/2019 20:48

Closing the kitchen at 782 and that includes the 170 calories I put aside for a glass of red wine, which I'm enjoying right now!

I've got my meals written out for the week but not assigned to days. The only one I'm stumped on is lunch tomorrow as my shopping doesn't arrive till I'm home from work. I may have to buy a basic salad on my way into work and take a cup of frozen prawns or a can of tuna from home to go with it. I have miso soups sachets at work if I get hungry and I've done a little pot of sliced pear and apple with the leftovers from DS's dinner.

For lunches Never I am being quite unadventurous and planning salads so probably not very inspiring for you I'm afraid. I've got vegetable soup, a smoked peppered mackerel salad and a tuna and boiled egg salad planned. When I'm working from home on Friday I'll make mackerel pate (with spring onions and creme fresh) and have it with 2 rivita
I think you've said before you're not really a fan of fish so probably not your kind of meal plan. My evening meals are mostly fresh fish with cauliflower rice or Thai Tom Yum soup (with salmon & prawns) plus on Friday when I've got more time to cook, Toulouse cassoulet (with veggie sausages)

noodlezoodle · 11/08/2019 21:17

Are these lunches to make at home or to take out with you? If I'm at home I usually have either soup, salad, or something with eggs - either an omelette or this baked eggs dish: helloglow.co/breakfast-egg-cups-recipes/

For something to take out to work I like doing a frittata for dinner one night and then having the leftovers with a bit of salad the next day - it's just as nice cold. I also fancy giving this a go although I haven't tried it yet: pinchofyum.com/curry-chicken-salad Ignoring all the talk about goddesses and wellness, it looks like a healthy coronation chicken salad to me Smile

Huffthepuff · 12/08/2019 11:17

Tough start today. Felt weak and shaky like I was going to faint. Slept terribly too.
Had half a banana to get me out of the house or I wouldn't have been able to walk. Then had a portion of cheese when I got to work as my legs were like lead after the walk.

I've bought a salad for lunch and 2 boiled eggs. I expect I'll go over 800 today tho as I need to function and get home at the end of the day. My commute involves about 5 miles walking.
Hopefully better equipped tomorrow. I wonder if this is my punishment for having a glass of wine with my last lot of calories rather than food!

How are you guys getting on?

Laska2Meryls · 12/08/2019 11:32

I slept really badly also, awake a lot of the night fretting and reading and then back to sleep an bout 7am (luckily its not a work day) and woke up again about half an hour a go!

thats definitely it .. I am giving up wine for a few weeks ..(although i drink huge amount over the weekend).
its not doing me any good.. stopping me lose weight and IS not actually helping the stressy side of life.

neveradullmoment99 · 12/08/2019 13:42

Oh no ...poor you @Laska2Meryls. If you have had a bad night sleep too, it can make your really hungry and reach for carby things.
Well I couldn't get to sleep so stayed up until after 2pm. Anyhow, after my blow out yesterday I didn't eat anything up until 1pm and didn't have anything yesterday apart from the burger in a bun and chips. Even at that I couldn't eat the bun or most of the chips!!! But I did have a started of crispy mushrooms and a small mini pudding of strawberry cheesecake and a cappuccino. It was a treat though and not beating myself up about it.
So today for lunch I had a bulgur wheat salad, olives and feta in it. That's been it so far. May have a piece of fruit though at some point.

I Didnt drink a huge amount I meant ..On Saturday eve my visiting friend got totally bladdered. She had one hell of a hangover..and DH was a bit fuzzy also , which is very unlike him
I busied myself hosting , clearing plates etc , but even so I did have more than i should have ..
So far today I have had coffee and a bowl of left over veggie curry! (curry is always a fine breakfast, but this was about midday!) Left over chicken and roast veg for dinner..
never your Sunday sounds great, I wouldn't have bothered with the bun either , But crispy mushrooms !! (esp with garlic or blue cheese dip) Irresistible!! Le YUM,

neveradullmoment99 · 12/08/2019 21:35

@Huffthepuff - how did you get on today after your shaky start.
I never feel shaky I have to say. Then I often go to work on no breakfast and have a yoghurt and apple for lunch and that's it all day for me. Many say to me they don't know how I do it. It just doesn't affect me.

neveradullmoment99 · 12/08/2019 21:36

Off to do a bulgar wheat salad for lunch at work tomorrow.

OP posts:
Huffthepuff · 12/08/2019 22:03

Much better after my stick of cheese thanks Never! Sorted me right out. I do think it may have been the glass of wine after a very light eating day and not much sleep. It wasn't a big glass but it probably did me no good and think my blood sugar just dropped leaving me feeling faint

I closed the kitchen on 883. I had a poached salmon and prawn salad for tea and made the same for tomorrow's lunch so I'm all set. Will try and have something hot tomorrow eve so I don't get too bored of salads 🤣 maybe vegetable soup with some rivita

I've got a sachet of bulgar wheat in the cupboard. What do you do with it for your meals? Maybe I'll give it a go. Is it low in carbs?

neveradullmoment99 · 12/08/2019 22:51

Its very good for you. It is much lower than lots of other things like rice, couscous etc. Its a good alternative to rice. Its good and tastes really like couscous. It also has the same texture. You can make a great greek salad with it. There are lots of recipes. I was introduced to it through a friend of mine that brought it in one day at work and it was delicious. You use it cold with feta, olives, tomatoes, cucumber - she had more in hers I cant really remember her recipe but everyone loved it. I don't have much experience of it but you just boil it with a set amount of water and it absorbs it. Then you let it cool. Add things to it. I used it as a substitute for rice when everyone had chicken curry and it was lovely. So I had it warm and plain. If you look it up there are loads of things that you can use it for. For 100 grams the calories of boiled bulgar it is only 83 calories compared to white rice which is 131 per 100 grams. Its also high in magnesium which is very good for your heart.

It says when I looked it up that Bulgar Wheat is a great low GI carb. Its very nutritious seemingly.

Ive even seen a recipe with chick peas that looked gorgeous. It adds bite to a salad. I really like it.

Cool, will give it a go! Great to have a rice alternative. I've got some feta that I need to use so I'll try the Greek salad

I've not tried cauliflower rice before but will be giving that a go this week with fish or veggie sausages. It's a pre-made one with kale from Waitrose. Trying to find things I can make quickly as I don't get home from work till 7.30/8pm and the easiest thing to do is eat something quick and unhealthy.

Slept really deeply last night. It was hard getting up this morning as I was so zonked. Feeling good though and energised.

Did you sleep better last night @Laska2Meryls ?

How are you getting on @noodlezoodle ?

Laska2Meryls · 13/08/2019 13:55

Shit!! Left lunch but bought some.. ok it wasn't low cal I knew but it said baked scotch egg and coleslaw but I just read the label properly and it added up to over a 1000 calories on onemeal !! Fuckfuckfuckfuck. ( Sorry no other words will do for this ) and I wonder why I am m fat.. Angry

Laska2Meryls · 13/08/2019 14:06

Ruddy so called low fat coleslaw, Mis read the lable it says 124 cals per 50gnot the pot turns put the pack was 300g ( it didn't seem that big ) and that makes 744cals on a pot of s*dding salad !!!! FFs I am furious with myself!!

Laska2Meryls · 13/08/2019 14:25

So Really furious.. I could cry..

Huffthepuff · 13/08/2019 15:39

@Laska2Meryls they bloody do it on purpose! Drives me mad!! You have to read the labels with such a sharp eye as it's like they are trying to con you all the time.
