Calories in an Omlette

DottieLottie1 · 05/06/2019 22:11

I genuinely can't work this out. Online sources come up with differing values!

How many calories in a 3 large egg (Aldi) omlette made with 50mls of semi-skimmed milk? Nothing else added.

TIA

What's so difficult?
Are Aldi eggs different to others? Confused

DottieLottie1 · 05/06/2019 22:30

Because googling etc brings up
anything from 250-400!

DottieLottie1 · 05/06/2019 22:34

You know what? I'll give up with this board if that's what I'm going to get. I'm here for support. I'm not stupid.

Thanks a lot @maras2 ConfusedConfusedConfused

It was slightly uncalled for. Christ almighty, how can you eat a plain omelette, by the time I'm done mine resembles a pizza 😊

BummyKnocker · 05/06/2019 22:38

M fitness pal, Smile

Darkcloudsandsunnydays · 05/06/2019 22:40

I’m not stupid. Half the people are stupid so it’s 50/50.

Calories are a measure of heat so if you put the omelette in the fridge first and allow it to cool down fully it will have no calories in it.

Pipandmum · 05/06/2019 22:41

259 according to My Fitness Pal. But did you fry it in oil or butter?

WhatIfIHadnt · 05/06/2019 22:42

Calories are on the box Hmm

applesauce1 · 05/06/2019 22:43

@Darkcloudsandsunnydays Grin

DottieLottie1 · 05/06/2019 22:50

@WhatIfIHadnt, not for an omelette! Depends very much how you make it!

I've only found support (and given) on this chat group but now feel like I've been thrown to the wolves that are AIBU! Confused

3 large (yes from ALDI) 50mls S/slimmed in a touch of olive oil.

Thanks to those with helpful replies, feel shit as it is and I'm trying my best.

Semi-slimmed mil would be great BlushGrin

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 05/06/2019 22:53

The MIL semi-slimmed even better 😂

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 05/06/2019 22:54

Obviously I meant semi-skimmed milk - no slimmed or Mother-in-Law.

User10fuckingmillion · 05/06/2019 22:56

Yeah the first response was vaguely dickish! Like we should all automatically know how many calories are in an omelette Grin

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 05/06/2019 22:56

The egg box should tell you the calories per egg and the milk carton the calories per defined amount, usually 150ml. Add in your teaspoon (?) of oil and add.

harper30 · 05/06/2019 22:58

I'm afraid I'm slightly on the side of the first response, you don't need to enter the calories of a random 'omelette' searched on MyFitnessPal. If you know the exact ingredients you used, just enter those on the app? Eggs plus milk plus oil, done.

Surely needed some cheese though right??

DottieLottie1 · 05/06/2019 23:05

Ok, stupid question apparently. I'm even on MFP but that shows varying results.

I'm not in a good place. My husband is leaving me (for the 2nd time- I took h back the first) because I got fat (I'm a size 14).

OP posts:
harper30 · 05/06/2019 23:16

I'm sorry to hear that ☹️ I definitely wouldn't class a size 14 as fat and if that's the reason he's given for leaving you he's a c*nt and you deserve better. I'd forget MFP and weight and just eat healthily and take care of yourself without the stress of measuring and inputting everything if you're having such a horrible time, hope you're ok x

maras2 · 05/06/2019 23:30

Sorry dottie I did sound bitchy and have no excuse. Blush
Please don't let my daft response upset you.
At a size 14 you are not fat , and if your husband is so shallow then maybe you're better off without him.
Have a 3 egg, full fat milk and cheese omelette Cake to follow and sod him. (not easy though if you love him)
Best wishes Mx. Flowers

Thanks @ Harper, unfortunately I've reacted to one comment on here tonight. Yes, I know I'm not huge but I'm not what he wants anymore.

DottieLottie1 · 05/06/2019 23:31

Cross post @Maras, sorry if over-reacted . I'm feeling quite down at the moment.

Magissa · 05/06/2019 23:55

My Fitness pal can show varying results because users add items as well as mfp staff. I tend to use the bar code scanner the first time I use a new food then it is accurate. Also the items with a green tick are more accurate. I did your omelette with a tsp olive oil eggs and milk and got 275 cals.

Magissa · 06/06/2019 00:15

Also... Size 14 isn't good enough for your husband? That was my life twenty years ago. You may feel like shit now but that sounds like a lucky escape to me. There are people out there who will love you for who you are not what size clothes you wear.
I hope you feel better tomorrow than you do today. He left you. Your new improved life is just beginning. Flowers
