SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 12/05/2019 09:53

That's slightly over 2lbs a week.
I'm planning to exercise every day & do the 5:2.
Anyone fancy joining me?

Keep us posted with the frozen yogurt recipes once you get going @TantricTwist .

Another day kept to plan. Weigh day tomorrow, fingers crossed that I have lost and will be in my healthy BMI range. I'm also looking forward to falling inside the next stage bracket- the 11 stone something..... though that's probably a few weeks off.

How did things go today@Seer, and anyone else still following?

Seer · 07/07/2019 20:29

Sounds like a good day for you both @DottieLottie1 and @TantricTwist

I'm fairly pleased with myself given it's a Sunday and went the food festival (had a virtuous, small veg curry and rice instead of the vegan fast food options). I'm on 911 cals so far.

Just had a boisterous game of volleyball with dh and the children and contemplating whether to eat a little something more or not.

Seer · 07/07/2019 20:53

I've literally just got 1lb into the 11s @TantricTwist which felt like a meaningful milestone Smile How far are you off that now?

Seer · 07/07/2019 20:53

Sorry that was meant to @DottieLottie1

DottieLottie1 · 07/07/2019 22:25

3lbs as of last Monday. Weigh day tomorrow but I'm not expecting much even though I've been good(don't want to get my hopes up).

I'm 5'9" so only 1lb to a healthy BMI.

X fingers for tomorrow 😬

Seer · 07/07/2019 23:11

Keeping my fingers crossed for you too, @DottieLottie1 !

I've just decided to dust off dh's kettle bell and start giving that a go this week. I tend to get overly muscular fast but hoping that won't happen.

DottieLottie1 · 08/07/2019 08:54

Whoop Whoop, lost 3 lbs this week. Now 11 st 13 lb and 2 lbs inside a healthy BMI. I also weigh less than 12st 6ft 2 DH WinkGrin.

I was disappointed last week as I only dropped 1lb but shows that can happen then you get a whoosh if loss. Happy that I'm inside a healthy BMI and made the 11s. Now got 27lb to go. I'm hoping to get there by Halloween, earlier would be nice. Definitely want to be at goal weight by January as I've got a big holiday booked!

Plans for today (off work)-

B- Almond and Vanilla shake
L- Berries and Cherries
D- 5%fat beef meatballs with spaghetti in a tomato sauce.

Lots of tea, a little diet soda, a couple of sugar/fat free lemon sherbets.

Should come in just over 1000 cals

Will also go on a lovely long country walk with the dog, great weather for it.

How are you all, what are your plans today.

Seer · 08/07/2019 09:09

That is amazing @DottieLottie1 ! So pleased for you! Star

Do you know your waist measurement? If I was your height and 11s13lb I think I'd be pretty slim tho I know I seem to weigh more heavy (iykwim) than most.

The whole whoosh thing is so weird isn't it? After barely losing for two weeks, I then lost 2lb last week.

I'm feeling super motivated this week. Started using kettlebell this morning - tho my technique is no doubt terrible and I narrowly avoided smashing the dogs' heads in!

Plan today...

B: fasting
L: Left over veg and chick pea stew thingy (aiming for under 250 cals tho tricky to judge it)
D: one of the children has asked for pie and mash so will attempt to keep my portion size small and load up with veg (600 cals)

Aiming for a 1k day.

DottieLottie1 · 08/07/2019 09:45

Thanks @Seer , just measured and my waist is currently 31in. I tend to carry weight on my tummy and hips. I've still got a wobbly tum so my aim is to get that flat.

I was just over 9st four years ago but I'm happy at 10st. The weight crept on due to bad habits, you know that extra glass of wine..... I also stopped weighing, big mistake meaning I buried my head in the sand!

One thing I do need to do is shake it up a bit, my weekly menu is fine at the moment but I don't want to get bored! @TantricTwist ratatouille is a brilliant one, need some more!

I've never tried kettle bells @Seer, Hope it makes a difference. What day do you weigh in?

Seer · 08/07/2019 09:56

31" is good @DottieLottie1 you're at the recommended max waist size now!

I'm currently weighing every day (recording in MFP) and then I've just started plotting the best day (lowest weight) each week in a spreadsheet and use that to define how much weight I'm losing week to week.

The average is 1.5lb per week since the beginning of May.

I really enjoyed the kettlebells. They're meant to be amazing as an all round work out.

DottieLottie1 · 08/07/2019 10:17

I don't think I could weigh each day, I kind of look forward to weighing in Monday mornings (even though dread can step in the moment before I step on themHmm). I do sometimes wonder if a Friday would be better as the weekends I'm less strict on.

I love the MFP graph, for me it tracks steadily downwards.

It shows you we don't all live in the same box. What may work for one person might not for the next. It is however mind over matter and we need to be in that headspace.

It's nice to be out of the overweight range but I want to sit firmly in the middle of my normal range. At 10st I'm definitely slim but not thin!

Seer · 08/07/2019 13:28

@DottieLottie1 My weight fluctuates so much day to day (by up to 3lb) that if I were to weigh weekly and some weeks happened to be a heavy day it could look like I'd gained weight when actually I'd lost, if that makes sense?

Eg last Monday I weighed more than the previous Monday even though I'd actually lost weight based on the average or best days for both weeks.

A crap weekly weigh in would crush my motivation whereas I'm so used to seeing the daily fluctuations that I don't take them too seriously as long as my best day that week is lower than the previous week's.

Also, daily weighing helps keep weight loss in my awareness so I find it easier to stick to making good choices throughout the day (mostly!)

I'm new to the whole weighing thing tho... I only weighed myself once a year on average for the rest of my adult life!

Once I get to my goal weight I'm going to decide how to go forward re weighing/measuring from there. I don't really want to continue weighing daily but research has shown that it's linked to losing/maintaining weight.

Seer · 08/07/2019 13:39

The lightest I've ever been is 9st2lb after a detox phase (I wasn't trying to lose weight), I looked properly thin then, not in a good way.

I think I was in the 10stone something range most of my life and looked slim with a flat tummy and still curvy (I'm an hourglass).

Post-DCs I think I've mostly been in the lower half of the 11stone something range, I think I was happy with my body, hence that being my goal weight for now (will assess when I get there!)

DottieLottie1 · 08/07/2019 16:09

I see what you mean @Seer but not sure I could cope with the fluctuations!

TantricTwist · 08/07/2019 18:11

Well done @DottieLottie1 that's such brilliant news. That'll spur you on a bit now being in a healthy BMI. I'm putting it down to the ratatouille Grin

@Seer I hope your dog's head is intact Grin as well as your ankles.

B - alpen, Fage 0% with berries
L - Fage 0% with berries (realised I have 2 large pots of it on the go) and a large salad.
D - made some pulled pork in the slow cooker of which I've had some to try out along with the soft fat on top of the meat (not skimmed off the top but what would ordinarily make crackling. Which has filled me up loads. I read that eating fat keeps you fuller for longer so that's my excuse.

My calories so far are 835 including half a bottle of Lipton ice tea.

I also cooked a huge pot of ratatouille as I didnt have any last week and I want it for work the next couple of days with the pulled pork.

I can see the start of the outline of my previous shaped body again. My waist is starting to appear as is the more prominent curve in my back. It's quite exciting. Although my tummy swelling up is not creating quite so much enthusiasm Confused.

It just goes up and down when it feels like it Hmm

TantricTwist · 08/07/2019 18:13
  • I am thankful however that it does at least go back down again.
DottieLottie1 · 08/07/2019 19:09

Thanks @TantricTwist, probably wa last the ratatouille Grin.

It's good when you can see your body changing for the better!im looking forward to seeing a slight hint (obviously not too much) breast bone. Unfortunately I've still got a flabby tum but it's definitely shrinking. Made the kids I coach at work giggle the other day when I told them I daren't demonstrate in case I lost my shorts! Baggy.

I'm done on 1059 Cals today.

Seer · 08/07/2019 21:08

Closing on 1023 cals today Smile

Seer · 08/07/2019 23:19

@TantricTwist might it be an allergy/intolerance causing your stomach grow randomly?

Mine was doing that last year and it turned out to be an intolerance. The bloating completely stopped once I cut the culprit out of my diet... which then left the stark reality of how big my tummy had become anyway even when it wasn't bloated!

Seer · 09/07/2019 06:18

An upside down day today with a light dinner as I'm eating out for lunch and dh is away...

B: fasting
L: pasta, maybe a glass of wine (600 cals?)
D: my usual veg, tofu, Asian dumplings and miso soup (250 cals)

Aiming for 1k calories and it looks doable.

Will also have another go with the kettlebells (won't include the calories burned)

How about you @DottieLottie1 and @TantricTwist ?

DottieLottie1 · 09/07/2019 07:30

Morning @Seer , it's good you can keep your calories low even when eating out. I do the same, it takes a bit of planning but it is doable. Might seem to others a little obsessive but if I can check the menu before I go out it makes life easier (obviously only works if menu is posted online).

Today will be-

B- Vanilla and almond milk shake (although I need to try Weetabix but don't think I can stomach it).

L- Almond milk based hot choc

D- Pasta in a sweet chilli sauce. Olives, salami and goats cheese. Maybe a little dipping bread in balsamic vinegar

Should be around 1000 cals.

Will go on long walk with the pooch but like you @Seer I don't add calories burnt.

Morning @TantricTwist and anyone else still following Smile

I'm at 1096 cals (which I'm pleased about given I ate out at lunch) but it's been a particularly challenging day at work, I have a headache and I really fancy a spritzer.

Will have a cup of tea first and see if I can resist!

How's your day been @TantricTwist and @DottieLottie1 ?

Seer · 09/07/2019 20:14

Also I'm proud of myself... I shared a garlic pizza bread with someone at lunch and only ate two slices vs my rightful half (which I would have usually gobbled up!) Grin

DottieLottie1 · 09/07/2019 20:16

Hi @Seer good day finished just under 1000 cals. I'm getting used to it now so don't really feel hungry until an hour or two before dinner.

I'll have some wine tomorrow so will need to save calories for it. Always plan ahead then I don't miss out (as muchGrin).
