12 weeks to lose 2 stone

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 12/05/2019 09:53

That's slightly over 2lbs a week.
I'm planning to exercise every day & do the 5:2.
Anyone fancy joining me?

Checking in... food today:

Going to try to keep to 1200 cals (instead of my usual Fri 1500) today as I ate 1200 yesterday instead of my planned 1000 because I had a friend over and had pudding, which I never do when alone!

B: fasting
L: 4 itsu veg dumplings, mixed veg, stock (a surprisingly satisfying 160 cals!)
D: Broccoli & beancurd in black bean, boiled rice, veg dumplings (Chinese takeaway) plus a couple of small glasses of wine

TantricTwist · 28/06/2019 17:43

Hi @Seer >>waves

CanYouHelpFindThis · 28/06/2019 17:46

I started a diet.... Its been two weeks and iv lost over 2 stone...

Now i really dont know how, as i didnt eat that much crap before....

Im concerned, can someone lose that much weight that quickly and everything be ok?

TantricTwist · 28/06/2019 17:48

Not sure CanYou you should speak to your GP if you're worried.

CanYouHelpFindThis · 28/06/2019 17:50

I started the fasting for a large part of the day.

So i eat cereal at mid day. Healthy small snacks in between then a light dinner at 7pm.... Then nothing till the next day at midday again

CanYouHelpFindThis · 28/06/2019 17:52

GP doesnt seem worried....

I am biiiig.... Will keep at it... I have about a another 3 stone to lose

Seer · 28/06/2019 19:26

I know we can lose weight faster if we have a bit to lose but that sounds like tonnes in 2 weeks @CanYouHelpFindThis

Apparently a pound = 3500 calories (it's actually not as clear cut as that but that's a good starting point). I'm no maths whizz but you'd have had to be in a gazillion calorie debt a week to lose a stone !

Are you sure your scales are accurate?

Regardless it's still amazing progress.

@TantricTwist I'm so glad you're still checking in even when it's not quite the day food-wise you'd hoped. It's such a massive help to me to have you here alongside on this journey!

I've just eaten an unplanned Ogg Victorian sponge vegan cake (new in Waitrose and had to try one - way too sweet so wished I hadn't). But I think I can still come in at 1200 today if I keep focused!

DottieLottie1 · 28/06/2019 21:41

Another one just checking in. Just under 1200 cals today (with a bottle of Prosecco Blush, but full) . Tomorrow will be a BBQ instead of a takeaway so shouldn't go wildly over my calorie intake even though I normally factor a T/A in.

Been going nearly 7 weeks, no wobble yet but i did get that ShockShockShock moment when I reality hit!

Hope everything is ok all, let's keep plugging away 👍🏻

escapade1234 · 28/06/2019 21:43

I’m exactly 2 stone over my ideal weight. Bloody hate it. What gets me is how scientifically it’s actually really easy to lose weight. It’s perfectly possible. We can all be slim.

And yet it’s so hard.

CanYouHelpFindThis · 28/06/2019 22:56

SEER ....

Scales are correct, iv been using those ones in the doctors, you know that measures, height, weight, body fat, etc

Seer · 29/06/2019 07:51

@escapade1234 it's deffo much easier putting it on, isn't it? I was a stone and a half over my ideal weight at the beginning of May and now have 8lb to go (which is proving slower to lose).

@DottieLottie1 we need the odd day like that. You're doing incredibly well!

@CanYouHelpFindThis well, that is a mystery then! Would love to know how you get on from here.

Off to a friend's house today and having a kind of pot luck so no real idea what I'll be eating. On the plus side, we're not drinking alcohol for once so that'll help.

Late breakfast: v BLT
Late lunch: mixture of breads, salads, pastries etc.

Will be pretty impossible to track calories but will just try to moderate more than I would have in the past!

I'll just assume it's going to be a 2k day and make up for it in the next few days.

Have a lovely day, everyone!

ChubRubTub · 29/06/2019 08:47

I'm still trying to keep on track, and don't think I'm doing too badly.

I've noticed I've started to sleep much better. I've been struggling to get more than 5 hours for months, but regularly getting 7 hours now. Nice added bonus!

TantricTwist · 29/06/2019 20:46

It's been so hot today; it's lovely but I'm melting.

B - Nothing
L - yoghurt with berries

Afternoon / evening - chicken, salad, potatoes lots of water and G&T's with lots of ice.

Just realised I have a fan downstairs that I bought a few months ago in case of a heat wave. So nice to come home and switch it on. Bliss Smile
I also have one in the bedroom which is always on at night.

Seer · 29/06/2019 23:37

Ate tonnes but didn't drink any alcohol (which is unheard of for a big bash with my friends!) so feeling fairly pleased with myself Halo

Seer · 30/06/2019 14:21

Checking in...

B: v BLT
L: meatballs, whole wheat pasta, tomato sauce, green beans, broccoli, home-made garlic focaccia
D: will just have popcorn at the cinema

Think it'll be around 1500 cals but I'm ok with that

TantricTwist · 30/06/2019 15:56

Had a full English breakfast today because we popped into Sainsbury’s, got the car washing man to wash 🧼 our car so needed to kill some time. It was lovely 😊. Bought lots of great food for the week. I currently have some pork in the slow cooker. Am hoping it turns into pulled pork, who knows. Currently wishing I had a Winnebago at Glastonbury even if it does cost 16K.

DottieLottie1 · 30/06/2019 16:07

Another good week for me. Yesterday we had a BBQ instead of a takeaway again. I kept to around 1200 calories. Today will be roast chicken wraps with tonnes of salad- just popped to Tesco as forgot the salad which is a lovely 20 minute round trip over farmland and country parkland.

I'm going to have ratatouille sometime next week, thanks @TantricTwist for giving me that idea.

Weigh in tomorrow so cross fingers for a loss.

TantricTwist · 01/07/2019 00:02

@DottieLottie1 fingers crossed for a loss. Cold ratatouille straight from the fridge in this weather is lush.

Went out and just ate a raspberry and elderflower ice cream. Nearly couldn't make my legs get me back home and my thighs started chaffing so the last half hour walking home was not fun. Thighs are doing ok now though.

Got home and ate the pulled pork in a wrap with a ton of lettuce, bit of mayo and sweet chilli sauce, it was yummy.

Have made one for my lunch at work tomorrow.

Seer · 01/07/2019 07:12

Hoping for a loss for you, @DottieLottie1

Such a nice feeling when you're all set food-wise for the week @TantricTwist - hope it pays off for you.

I've deffo been at a plateau since 11th June. I keep thinking its ending when I lose a couple of pounds, only to put them on again. I'm going to have a couple of days of very low calories in the hope of kickstarting it again.

I'm going to make a big salad and big mixed veg stew (a bit cabbage soup stylee) and then cycle them through this week.

B: fasting
L: salad
D: veg stew

Jasging · 01/07/2019 07:50

End of week 1 weigh in, lost 2 kilos so that's about 4 pounds? (I only weigh in kilos since they weighed in that when I was pregnant!) still want to eat my arm but feeling slightly better about it!

DottieLottie1 · 01/07/2019 08:43

Just a 1lb loss for me this week. Feeling a little disappointed as if it had been 2lb I would be inside a healthy BMI range. Hopefully that will come next week, the scales were fluctuating between 12st 1 and 12st 2 so I've gone for 12st 2. My scales don't do oz.

I'll keep plugging on, 2st 2lb to go....

It's my day off work today so I'll go on a long dog walk unless the pesky hay fever gets me like it did yesterday.

Good luck all Smile

Seer · 01/07/2019 18:27

Just 500 cals today and I'm feeling surprisingly full. Determined to start losing weight again!

DottieLottie1 · 01/07/2019 18:51

How did you keep it so low @Seer, interested as to what filled you up?

I've only had just under 300 calories so far today but another 600 for dinner coming shortly. So I should complete the day just shy of 1000.

Seer · 01/07/2019 19:13

I had a massive green salad with pickled beetroot and Hearts of palms (which I find are filling and tasty)!

And a big bowl of home-made veg and lentil stew with big chunks of swede and a few boiled potatoes in it (which I suspect are the filling parts).

It was a lot of volume, hence filling, but all fairly low in calories.

TantricTwist · 01/07/2019 20:18

Late breakfast - apple

L - pork and lettuce wrap with mayo and sweet chilli sauce

D - Salad and (a couple of slices of DC pizza (maybe)) or just some left over chicken. Will use the port for wrap again tomorrow.

My legs are aching after being on my feet most of the day. I have a blister between my toes although I didn't feel or notice it all day till I came home and took my socks off (been in trainers all day)
