My Fitness Pal is free and many people have had success using the program. I lost 2 stone on it a couple of years ago. Good luck, Op. Weight loss is so fucking hard but you can do it!! 💐

Frouby · 01/05/2019 18:25

Good luck OP. I would have said about 15st, based in the fact that you are the same height as me and I weight 13st 8.5. And I didn't think you were much bigger than me.

I have just joined slimming world again. If it s something you would be interested in I think you can get a referral from the GP for 12 weeks free, slimming world is good. It's cheap to shop for and family friendly and the groups are pretty supportive. Google to see if the NHS are still referring people there and good luck with the weight loss.

pineapplepatty · 01/05/2019 18:26

Good luck losing weight, it's hard but you can do it.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 01/05/2019 18:28

Look the same size as me, same height, so 15 stone 6

BendydickCuminsnatch · 01/05/2019 18:30

Ah sorry just saw your update!

Yummymummycupcake · 01/05/2019 18:31

I would have guessed you correctly. I'm a few stone lighter than you though am overweight. I don't get the ones saying 12 stone as that's not really that big at all.

MsMustDoBetter · 01/05/2019 18:32

I have absolutely no idea. it doesn't matter what you weigh, it's how you feel about your weight that matters.

Battie · 01/05/2019 18:35

I didn't know what about slimming World. Hmm

I might ask about that. Thanks.

LaurieFairyCake · 01/05/2019 18:41

I was thinking you were a bit heavier than me as you're taller and a size 20 ish.

There's some weird guesses though. If I was a 170 pounds I wouldn't be an 18! I'd be a 12/14. I'm a 16 now and more than 30 pounds more than that.

HJWT · 01/05/2019 18:52

15-16 stone Size 18-20

Jemima232 · 01/05/2019 18:53

Good Grief.

So what DO you weigh, OP? You look as though you're a size 18 - 20 to me.

Bringbackthestripes · 01/05/2019 18:54

The NHS in our area has stopped referrals for free weight loss and gym UNLESS you have an underlying condition (BP,Diabetic,CVD) BUT I would say it is definately worth a chat with the Dr as it is worth a BP check and a BT given your weight -which I actually would have guessed as lower- good luck OP.

Battie · 01/05/2019 19:00

My BMI is over 40 so I should be able to get help having just read up.

It's 35+ with underlying conditions or 40+ without.

I would have guessed approx 15 stone. You do look like you need to lose weight but can I just say what amazing calves you have. I’m jealous! Good luck OP, you can do this.

Frouby · 01/05/2019 19:14

Definetly see your GP battle. And read some of the threads on here about SW. It's really accessible to all budgets and family friendly. It's more about cutting out processed food and sugar and fat than calories counting like a traditional diet. And there is no need to be hungry or deprived. If you are on a budget (which I suspect you are based on your comments about bras) it's easy to shop in aldi for SW food. I did a shop this week to stock up. I bought fruit (nothing fancy, just fruit bowl stuff), salad, and veg. Some chicken breasts, some parma ham, salmon (but you could have any fish), and will use eggs but we have our own chickens.

Breakfast has been weetabix with a banana.

Lunch was salmon and salad. But would have had a tin of tuna instead if I hadn't had salmon left over from last night.

Tea is a chicken breast wrapped in parma ham and a baked potato and roasted Mediterranean veg. But you could serve any veg or salad instead.

Syns on gin tonight, but could have a small bar of chocolate or a fancy yoghurt or fruit or anything really.

Fill up on fruit and veg and salad. Eat lean protein. Have most carbs free. Some milk/cheese. 1 portion of wholemeal bread or cereal.

It's so easy to eat well on slimming world and if you can go along for free it's even better.

I too noticed your nice legs!

ImpossibleNovelty · 01/05/2019 19:21

Yes I definitely have calf envy! Mine are like hams Blush

gonnaneedaginsoon · 01/05/2019 19:28

I've done slimming world before on my own. Just got the books off eBay. It's a really easy diet but obviously some diets work better for some people than others. It's definitely worth a try. I hope you succeed in losing the weight this time - good luck!

gonnaneedaginsoon · 01/05/2019 19:31

Also google couch to 5km if you want to start exercising too.

ItsClemFandangoCanYouHearMe · 01/05/2019 19:33

Good luck OP, hope this sets you down the path you want.

Try the app MyFitnessPal. You an really track your meals, it's a good place to start.

bibbitybobbityyhat · 01/05/2019 19:36

Haven't read the whole thread (I don't usually do this!) and I would say size 20 and about 15 to 16 stone. I'm usually pretty good at this game.

patstar · 01/05/2019 19:36

Goode luck op,

Today is the first day to a new you.
Hold on to that feeling and keep the motivation going.
Only YOU can make the CHANGES that you need to make.
Give yourself a small goal everyday - walk a mile, run a mile, jog on the spot whilst adverts are on the telly, do squats whilst the kettle boils - there are loads you can do whilst on this journey that doesn't involve joining a gym etc...
The key is to set yourself a goal and always have this on your mind - pin it on the fridge and look at it every day, as each day goes by you will see a difference and even if you have a bad day just start over - you will get there in the end.
Go girl

Spotsandstars · 01/05/2019 19:37

14.5 stone size 18/20?

Myusername2015 · 01/05/2019 19:37

Hi op; just wanted to say I started this year at exactly the same weight as you. I’m 12 13 today and I actually think this is sustainable; I’m just using mfp and counting calories and not cutting anything else (and trying to walk everywhere!) after years of diet after diet I’m over the moon and sure I can get to my target; wishing you every luck Flowers
