I need to lose 2st in 8 weeks

First of all I know this is not a healthy amount to lose in 8 weeks and I don't know if it's even possible. But I have put on 2st since last summer (was 2.5st but I have lost 6lbs this week) and I need as much of it off as possible before my holiday in 8 weeks, or I am going to have to buy all of my bikinis and holiday clothes all over again. I'm so annoyed at myself because I spent a fortune last summer buying some lovely things, and none of it fits me. Is anyone interested in doing a lose-as-much-as-possible-before-summer challenge?

I'm doing it myself at the moment, though for medical reasons. I have 7lbs off now in 10 days. I eat low carb and fewer than 1200 calories a day.

Psychologika · 01/05/2019 11:48

I need to do similar to fit into my wedding dress 😫

CIT80 · 01/05/2019 11:50

I will join you - I’m doing the 30 day shred workout plus low carbing - on day 3 today.
Am going to try not to get too hung up on the scales tho and use clothes as a guide.
I go away in 6 weeks and also will need to re-buy everything if I don’t get minimum 17lb off

FannyFifer · 01/05/2019 11:52

Exante, I've lost 3 and a half stone in 12 weeks.

BIWI · 01/05/2019 11:55

I'd have a go at the Fast 800 diet - by Dr Michael Mosley. 800 cals per day for 2 weeks, then 5:2, and some intermittent fasting. It will give you very quick results.

lavenderlove · 01/05/2019 12:01

Oo I'm excited about the replies! Hopefully we can all keep each other motivated!
7lb in 10 days is great @UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername how are you coping on less than 1200? I'm trying to do the same but I'm so hungry!
wow well done @FannyFifer that's amazing! How did you lose so much so quickly? any tips?
And thanks @BIWI I will look at that now Smile

@CIT80 hope we don't have to buy everything again. We can do it! I tried on my swimwear and I was hanging out of it. Wish I had started sooner

Congrats on the wedding @Psychologika that was what I slimmed in to for last summer then just piled it all back on. Don't be like me haha

I’ve lost 7lb in less than 2 weeks so far by downloading the weight watchers app. I’ve found it really easy- main difference has been giving up wine and cheese and focusing on veggies and their zero points food such as eggs, chicken, tofu etc. I can still eat bread, pasta etc and be within the daily points allowance.

Frankel9 · 01/05/2019 12:18

I think its doable, if you are really determined, disciplined and organised. Clear out junk from cupboards, pick a diet plan, plan your meals, calorie count and food diary. I second the fast 800, I lost weight following it. Unfortunately I regained 10 lbs, stupid things like a grilled cheese toastie habit. So just getting back on it. Well done on your 6 lb loss and good luck!

LaurieFairyCake · 01/05/2019 12:18

Fannyfifer

I've had a look at exante online and I can only see 600 and 800 calorie diet plans

Are there ones about 1200-1500 I'm missing?

Cloudyapples · 01/05/2019 12:19

I’ll join! I’ve lost 11 pounds since jan - my aim is two and a half stone by October and I want to reach my first stone off by end of May as I’m going on holiday and want to feel slightly better in my swimwear!(hopefully more but trying to be realistic!) I’m doing diet chef at the moment which isn’t the most exciting thing ever but at least makes it easy to stick to a routine, plus I’m recording it all in myfitness pal.

onlyk · 01/05/2019 12:26

Would recommend a Fitbit and use the app so it can track your food, exercise and weight.

Also carry a bottle of water everywhere and add a lot of green veg to all your meals ( low cal & fills you up).

I’m in. I’ve lost 3lbs so far this week - I’m combining Dukan and Fast 800.

housewifeoflittleitaly · 01/05/2019 12:39

It’s going to be tough but go for it. I am doing the fast 800 I’ve lost 11lbs in 3 weeks. I will warn you though I am hungry a lot of the time.

CKWattisthemanager · 01/05/2019 12:44

BIWI knows her stuff.

KissMeBunty · 01/05/2019 12:44

The first few days will be tough but then your stomach shrinks and hunger doesn't have the same edge as it did. If you get through the first four days, you'll be fine!
Low carb makes the weight fall off me... Also gets rid of the bloat. If you can forgo stuff with flour in it, it makes a massive difference.

Knowivedonewrong · 01/05/2019 12:51

Fast800 is your friend. Check it out on the weight loss boards.

bluebluezoo · 01/05/2019 12:56

I did 500 cals/day for 2 weeks (medical, so no cheating at all) and lost 2lb.

I have started fairly intense exercise instead as diet obviously wasn’t working and the scales have started moving downward at last.

Cutting the calories, for me, seems to work for a very short while them my body adjusts and i need to cut even more. My normal maintenance is about 1200, just to stay the same.

Tightarseparent1 · 01/05/2019 12:57

Cambridge Diet really works for me, I’ve lost 6lbs this week but it’s savage!

CIT80 · 01/05/2019 13:09

Those who have done exante what do the products taste like ? Are they ok or quite grim ??

harrietkatie · 01/05/2019 13:12

I did exante and had to get rid of it all as it tasted so horrid haha! But I'm fussy.

I also need to lose two stone!! I always get to a certain point and can't budge.

I'm fasting this week. 16:8.

Hiphopopotamus · 01/05/2019 13:15

I just started exante yesterday. I hate the taste of the products but I’m seeing them as medicine, not food!

CIT80 · 01/05/2019 13:24

Ah see I think I may struggle then as I do like my food (hence the additional weight I’m carrying 😂) maybe the 5:2 version would work for me as knew I had breaks coming up ?
